Original melodies, no synthesizers that sound too much like synthesizers, and words that one can actually read in the liner notes without being embarrassed. For me it was more like Christmas than Valentine's Day.

Despite the different singers, the album maintains a unity in tone, expression, and musical quality. Many songs have a New-age feel to them, particularly the first track, "Everything." Several others have themes hearkening to days gone by, and the music sounds somewhat medieval. "Minstrel's Song" obviously does this on purpose, as does "Ageless Love," both songs being explicitly about bygone eras. But two other songs, "Don't be Afraid" and "Then," also have that melancholy, madrigal sound, producing a very effective, bittersweet experience.

A sensitive album of well-written, pretty love songs, "Ageless Love" is something to have on when you curl up in front of the fireplace with a loved one on these cold winter nights. Well, OK, it's spring now, but remember, it was Valentine's Day, and... oh, never mind. My grade: A-
