True sentimental material....a very unique singer........2003-11-08

I purchased this album almost three years ago and never really paid attention to it. I liked it when I first listened to it but somehow I never focused on it after that. I listened to this album yesterday and I must pay tribute to it. Bachata just does not come like this anymore. He does have a unique voice, which I would say is his trademark and Luis Segura is just incredibly sentimental. This is one of kind bachata for its lyrics, rhythms, fusion of rhythms and its unique style. I cannot think of any other bachata artist who can compare to Luis Segura. This album in my opinion is one of his best along with Como Yo. It has a tremendous line up of sentimental bachatas but I confess the ones that caught my attention are: Me la pagaras, Bajate de esa nube, Porque morire, Dos mujeres (increible), and Cosas de la vida. If you are a fan of a slower pace, more traditional style bachata you may want to sample Luis Segura's music from this album or any of his previous ones.

This is an interesting song if you are a die hard Tina fan (as the author of this review is), but overall not a terribly memorable track. The most interesting aspect is how much Eros sounds like Tina in her throaty lower ranges. Sometimes a listener is not sure which vocalist is singing! If you like the idea of Tina singing a Europop rock ditty, go for it, otherwise, if you like Tina rock, check out "Love Thing" on the "Simply The Best" package to hear Tina bring the house down, 80's rock style.

An updated version of one of his greatest hits, Eros and Tina together are memorable! U've got to hear the live version to listen to it rock!

I have to admit, I probably listen to this CD too much. It's fun, the music is great and I like nearly every song. Although the music is banda, the group seems to try everything from banda, traditional, salsa, etc. The songs all have their very own distinct sounds (unlike a lot of Norteno/regional music, they don't all sound the same) and the they really know how to play.

Maybe someday I'll actually speak Spanish and understand what they're singing about. Until then, I'll just hope they aren't singing about gringos.
