I purchased the cd when it was first released, but waiting until now to give my review as I needed to listen to it for awhile. Now that I have taken the time to really listen to Chayanne's Mi Tiempo (And I listened to it alot) I must say - I love the whole cd - You gotta check it out!
I too will be seeing Chayanne in concert (San Jose) tomorrow night (5-27-07) Hopefully he performs many of the songs on Mi Tiempo! Awesome cd!

I have to say this album is fantastic!!! The music is sexy, and keeps you wanting more. It has a different style, but yet keeps Chayanne's essence. His voice is more mature, and more powerful!! Some of the songs have an island feel to them. They have Brazilian, and Jamaican sounds, which most were done, and written by singer/songwriter Estefano. He is responsible for Torero, Boom boom, Dejaria todo, Baila baila, Sentada aqui en mi alma, and many more of his greatest hits! You can sample the songs at his website, recent activity, and click on multimedia, then you will see his albums there. You can sample all of them. You can also get all the lyrics there. His first release for this album, Si nos quedara poco tiempo, has already been number 1 in most parts of the world, and this album has been number 1 already on the Billboard chart. He is my favorite singer, and I can't wait to see this gorgeous amazing talented man in concert this Thurs May 3,in NYC, at MSG!! Chayanne delivers again.......2007-04-19

Unlike some artists who repackage the same formula album after album, Chayanne continues to grow and develop, exploring new sounds on each new album without completely abandoning what his fans love. This one is fantastic.

My only complaint is that this CD does not contain the lyrics in the liner notes, however the website address is provided and the lyrics are available there.

I've been a die hard fan of this man since he was in one of the original boy bands, Los Chicos. I have seen him change from the nice clean cut guy he was until the MAN he is today. As a huge fan and I am and always been, this record is a grea way for you to learn and enjoy him the same way I do every day. El Dicho dice, "Nadie es Profeta en su Tierra" but I really beg to differ.

Great song "Y tu te vas" best of all, SO HOT!!!! You can feel it deep in your veins, especially if you know Spanish as a native speaker. Se siente muy adentro hasta la fibra interior y hace vibrar las venas. "Quisiera" is also great song. Ricky doesn't come close. In fact, his not the best Puerto Rico offers, he's just good looking (or, should I say gringo looking?).

Chayanne is not a great vocalist. Like Ricky Martin, he is really a nice, good-looking, entertaining showman. Likewise, Chayanne's recordings have been well produced, although some of the 1980s beats (especially Fiesta en America) havent aged that well (unless youre still into that). Overall its fairly standard Latin pop with good production values. The lyrics are generally corny and silly when you think about them (you might as well not), but at least the choruses are catchy, especially on the dance beats. Unless you are or become a die-hard fan, this CD is your best Chayanne sampler. It covers most of the hits and spares you of the rest.

I'm not sure if my pulse is up because of the terrific songs and style or the gorgeous photos of Chayanne in the CD package. I don't speak Spanish but I don't think it is necessary. He has a very soothing voice, not terribly strong but he definitely handles ballads, salsa and uptempo numbers with ease. I don't know why he has not crossed over with more popularity, like Ricky Martin or Marc Anthony because he deserves it. If you saw the movie DANCE WITH ME-you know he is multi-talented beyond his striking looks.

Love, in all its swoon-inducing shapes and sizes, anchors Desde Siempre, an affecting collection of ballads from Puerto Rican heartthrob Chayanne. The material here dates all the way back to 1988, but it's not a best-of collection, per se. Indeed, Desde Siempre is more a sweet love letter to fans. Lilting gems "Un Siglo Sin Ti," "Atado a Tu Amor" and the glittering "El Centro de Mi Corazon" were definite hits, but this savvy assemblage gives an added sense of heft to Chayanne's seemingly lightweight repertoire. He has a knack for selecting great pop songs written by first-rate composers, most notably Franco de Vita and Estefano. Chayanne is hardly a vocal powerhouse, but his phrasing benefits from the subtle shading and nuances he uses to make up for his limitations. This album has all the sweetest songs of Chayanne and they all made me cry. It is the first time that someone's voice squeezed my heart so much. Of course the songs are great, but having him singing to them make every song so special, so tender, and moving. You feel his love toward his work through his voice. This album will be the greatest company for you and your love ones, or just for yourself.

Correction!..........2005-10-12

I just wanted to make a simple correction, other than to say that Chayanne has had me with those moves since forever, but his voice and his style is unsurpassable. The correction is this: Chayanne was never a Menudo. He was with Los Chicos, which was another Puerto Rican boy group that was out in PR at the same time that Menudo was. AND, that was Ricky Martin who was a Menudo. Other than that, great singer, great albums!

'Desde Siempre' is 100% for Latin Lovers(and everyone else).......2005-10-01

This generations most consisted and best latin ballad artist. I must admit when he first went solo after Menudo, I didn't want to like his music. Over the years his music is just head and shoulders above all latin ballad singers.

For the players and husbands 'in trouble' out there looking for that extra edge...get this cd.

All the songs are great but my favorite is: #4'Cuidarte El Alma'

You can't go wrong with this cd.

Chayanne is the most talented artist of all, and he is keep progressing. Here this album start with the tender and sweet "Dejaria Todo". The beautiful song just like the cover photo, you will feel him inviting into his world. There is also the greatest fast dance number of his, "Salome", which I couldn't help but to started dancing to it. The album contains a lot of varieties of his style. Though, every song is truely "Chayanne", I think he knows exactly how he wants to be. His confidence toward his work is creating the great confort to the listners. You can feel him right by your side when you are listning to his music. That's Chayanne.

I bought this cd on a whim, curious as to what Chayanne sounded like after seeing a concert review on vacation. I must say I was surprised. Even though I don't speak Spanish, it doesn't matter with Chayanne. There's something about his voice that is very moving. His songs are so heartfelt I could listen to him all day and not get tired of listening. Every song on this cd is awesome, and I now have all but one of his cds.

This album is amazing! Great movement songs like "mira ven ven" "salome" and "enamorado" but the ballads just blew me away and i became and instant fan for life...the title track along with one of his signature songs "dejaria todo" and "otra vez" are so romantic and he knows how to interpret them perfectly. And of course, "refugio de amor" from Dance With Me, which i believe sounds better in spanish than english, is also included. well-rounded cd.

Well, this hot Puerto Rican is simply among the Latino's best.

His blood is the music he makes. I begun to know Chayanne 5 years ago and I like his music more when it became the soundtrack of the telenovela from Peru "Girasoles para Lucia" which became total hit in the Philippines.

At the CBB, Chayanne sang the Atadu tu amor, and he's great. Then I saw him at the Miss World 2002. His performace was awesome, yes, in front of the Miss Ujiverse and 50 million people who watched the pageant.

I first saw this artist in the movie " DANCE WITH ME ". Shortly thereafter I purchased the movies soundtrack. I then fell in love with his music, and Latin music in general. I find his music Sensual, Passionate,and Smooth. It is true that music can transcend many barriers. I do not speak, or understand Spanish at all, but I love this music ,and Chayannes music particularly.

This album runs a close second to his most recent album "Atado A Tu Amor". Again - every song on this album is a winner. You don't have to speak Spanish to understand the feelings and emotions that Chayanne brings to the ballads - i.e. Tal Vez Es Amor, Solo Pienso en Ti, the desperation in Solamente Tu Amor (Only Your Love), the yearning in Volver A Nacer. Baila, Baila (Dance,Dance) is a great salsa number and Guajira has a great cha-cha beat. If your toes don't start tapping - causing you to get up and dance around the room - nothing will! On Ramito de Flores Chayanne sings about the happiness the beauty of his homeland Puerto Rico brings to him. A really uplifting, happy melody - true caribbean style. All in all, this album is great. Get it soon, sit back, and enjoy a soulful serenade from the consummate performer - Chayanne!

After listening these songs, I could understand what life means, what people like him lives, and what a wonderfull man he is. I can see his feeling through his eyes, and it's heaven. If anyone of you can tell him my gratefulness, I will appreciate it. He is the best singer man I've ever heard, and this CD show it. Other way to feel his feeling is listening the music of "Dance with me" (the movie) It's like a mirror of his heart. I think it is. From Argentina, my love.

Chayanne is definately at the top of my CD picks. Liked his romantic way of presenting love songs, fun loving rock, and easy to dance music. Bought this record and two others of his. Have not been disappointed even though I understand very little Spanish. Will anxiously await his new album this year. He's sentual and very romantic yet rocks with the best.

If you want to dance, fast or slow, this is the CD. Incredibly romantic and energetic. Chayanne has an beautiful voice you can get lost in. Great party tracks (Simon Sez) and for a romantic interlude of two (Completamente Enamorados, Tiempo de Vals). But remenber, you won't be able to sit still.

I love this CD. It has a bunch of really great songs especially
"Yo te amo" and "Candela". I ran to the store at bought the CD right after seeing the music videos on HTV. "Simplemente" is a great song and "Boom Boom" is hot!I think "Las Horas Pasan" is kind of a dorky song though. Chayanne is an extremely talented arist and has handsome as the day is long. Buy this CD, it truely is a beautiful collection of songs and if Chayanne is reading this. Casate conmigo!

Chayanne came to my attention when I saw Dance With Me. I was impressed with his natural acting and sincerity. The music in the movie moved me to buy all his available CDs. He is
one of the very rare singers who has perfect pitch. His voice is
seductive but manly and while I don't understand the language it makes no difference to my enjoyment of his music. I listen to it over and over. I am an eighty five year old great grandmother and love all kinds of music but his are the CDs I listen to for fun
and enjoyment. I highly recommend him to anyone.

This sweet Puerto Rican has done it again. He has the ability to move you to tears and then make you get up and dance and he uses it perfectly here. "Te Amo" a soft but strongly stated love song can almost make time stand still. The other hit "Candela" is so skillfully rhythmized you'll be humming it everywhere you go and wanting to hear time and time again. This album is a perfect balance of steaming dance songs, passionate ballads and Chyanne's sweet voice that you'll find "Simplemente" simply just irresistable. You'll want to listen to it again and again as I did and still do. Buy it today and enjoy the pleasures of life!

i am a big fan of chayanne, this is an older cd and if you like mexican hat dancing you will like this cd, for me it was disappointing, but everyone has different tastes.

Beautiful contemporary Latin music........2000-12-22

I purchased this disk on the mistaken notion that it was an Argentine tango disk. Unfortunately, there was no review upon which I could rely. When I think "vals" in the context of Latin music, I think in terms of Argentine waltz. Call it naivete. ¿Chayanne? No se quién es. Pero conozco a Carlos Gardel. Nevertheless, I was willing to take the responsibility for my purchase and find what I liked in the disk. Wasn't it Duke Ellington who said, "If it sounds good, it is good"? I found that to be the case. I later learned that Chayanne was a popular Latin actor and singer from Puerto Rico, who has recorded 14 albums with the group "Los Chicos" and about 9 solo albums. He won the Ritmo Latino Music awards "Artist of the Year" for 2000. Yes, a gringo milonguero can develop an appreciation for other Latin music.

The title cut, "Tiempo de vals," was just beautiful. It has the musicality for dancing either the Argentine vals or Viennese waltz. Chayanne's singing voice is compelling, and the lyrics (in Spanish) are readily understandable and are words that speak to the heart and soul. My wife had a positive reaction to this waltz when she first heard it. This song makes the purchase worthwhile. The other music on the disk is a much appreciated "extra bonus."

Most of the cuts on the disk are in Spanish, with the exception of "Simon," a really fun song based on the children's game "Simon says" but with a slow samba beat. It compels you to dance. If you like contemporary music, this is fun. If you are a ballroom dancer, this disk offers a lot of possibilities. If you like foxtrot or if you would tango to something in foxtrot time, you would like "Completamente Enamorado," "Daria Qualquiera Cosa," and "La Fuerza de Amar." If you like meringue, there is "No Pensar en Ti." If you like rumba, you might dance to "Soliel, Soliel" and "Sueño Perdido." You may disagree with some of my assessments of what dances may be danced. Please remember that I have attended milongas where it is not unusual to see people dancing Argentine tango to Frank Sinatra or West Coast Swing. The important thing in dancing is the contact with your partner. How it is done depends on the dancers. With this disk, the music sets the mood -- it is up to the dancers to do their thing.

Recommended for dancing in your preferred style, easy listening, or spending a quiet evening alone with your "significant other."

Chayanne has been at it for two decades as a solo artist, and he's rarely faltered as a hot commercial commodity. At the point, the established, charismatic singer could churn out lazy collections of processed pop drivel and still be successful. That's why 2003's Sincero, with all its earthy rhythms and vocal intensity, was such a refreshing surprise. It found Chayanne stretching as an artist, and the results were admirable at this stage in his already impressive career. Cautivo finds Chayanne further exploring more rock-tinged sounds and soaring balladry, but he's still got a firm grasp on the right amount of pop sheen. Guitar licks accent much of the album, as do forceful choruses. Chayanne also sounds better than ever, infusing many of the songs with a newfound confidence and impressive nuance. "No Te Preocupes Por Mi," "Curame" and standout "Nada Sin Tu Amor" are as danceable as past hits "Provocame" and "Salome," but the new tracks are grounded in real instrumentation instead of thumping, synthesized beats. "En La Orilla" is another gem, anchored by a lilting retro vibe. Only the flirty "Swing" seems plucked from one of Chayanne's past albums, and it's consequently Cautivo's weakest moment. Fellow heartthrob Carlos Ponce, who scored his own big hits with "Rezo" and "Escuchame," wrote/co-wrote six of the songs on Cautivo. It's just another unlikely step in Chayanne's evolution, and it somehow makes perfect sense. --Joey Guerra

I am puzzled at some of these reviews. I heard some of these songs on the radio and had to research it to find the artist. I bought this one and the greatest hits, just to learn more about Chayanne. This CD is amazing! My favorite is "No Se por Que" but there are several other really excellent songs on here. The quality of the production is also very good. On the other hand, I found the "Grandes Exitos" to be aburrido -- boring. The songs on the "Grandes Exitos" are pretty mediocre -- they sound like the typical formula pop songs -- not bad but just not all that moving or interesting. So I'm astounded that people are trashing this CD. Hey - lucky me though, I got a used copy here really cheap!

In my opinion this is one of the best cd that Chayanne had recorded the songs are catching and have something for every taste. Of course I have my favorite and is number 4 is very romantic and with a strong message.I love the whole cd and I have to listen almost everyday, it has been about 4months since I bought it and it doesn't get old. 10 stars

It might not be the best ablum, but the more you listen to it the more you like it. All the songs are great especially the love songs which his good at. It's a most have if you are a really chayanne fan. Just give it some time, I know you will end up liking it.

Claro que le debe pasar algo, perdió frescura, cree que le puede dar cualquier cosa a su fanaticada sin más..yo pensaba que Chayanne iba a bailar mas y los temas iban a ser mas pegadizos , después del buenísimo Sincero nominado al Grammy, pero la verdad es que aunque lo he escuchado con cariño no me ha convencido nada para que lo recomiende, el anterior era la bomba pero este ni enamora ni me convence.

I hope another kind of album, a diferent Cd of Chayanne, why he doesn't dance?, and I think the songs are worse than the others cd... anyway, I'll wait for the next cd he comes back to his great Grammy Award Nominee days as Sincero.
