This is by far the best CD's i've bought in a while. You can't help but dance every time you listen to oro solido's music. My favorite song is definitely "Esta Cache". I probably play that song about four times a day. Even if you are not spanish speaking, you can still appreciate the music. Go out and buy this CD. Oro solido is without a doubt "El Presidente del Merengue."

A Complete Compilation!!!!!.......2000-08-12

The title doesn't lie. What surprises me the most about this compilation is that all of the songs are the best ones from all of Raul Acosta's six albums. Starting with the worldwide hit, "La Tanga", it contains four songs from, arguably, his best album, "El Poder De NY". Believe me, this record cannot be dismissed. BUY IT NOW!!!!!

Merenguero de corazon.......2000-08-01

This is for the Merengueros: I love this cd, because it contains songs from other seleccions and this particular cd, contains also a mexican version from the song El baile del beeper, which is one of the songs playing right now in most latin clubs here in Chicago. This particular cd it would be a good seleccion for the merengueros de corazon (people who really like merengue, merengueros de corazon means, "merengue from our heart". 2004 Double Album Celebrates the New York-based Dominican Group's Tenth Anniversary. Oro Solido Combine Hip-hop, Reggae, Bachata, Merengue and Tropical Music. Highlights from the 28 Tracks Are the Singles "la Tanguita Roja" (Reggaeton), "Los Santos" and "tu Papa Y Tu Mama". The Group were Chosen as Spokesmen for the Ny Governor's Wife Against Domestic Violence. They were also Asked by the Mayor of New York to Carry the Olympic Torch for the Games in Greece.

Oro Solido is the best merengue band to ever come out of our fair city...NYC! Although merengue originated in Dominican Republic, these second generation dominicanos represent Dominicans, and Latinos, to the fullest! Raul Acosta is the energetic and charismatic frontman who spawned countless imitators who WISH they could do it like him. This is a 10 yr celebration and includes many new songs with many collaborators. I'm happy to see Reynos on 2 cuts, he is a NY born Dominican from my part of town, Washington Heights, who as far as I know is the ONLY Dominican rapper around. And no Fabolous is only half Dominican and doesn't speak a word of Spanish, so he doesn't count! Oro Solido have not changed their sound much since 1994, but that is good because they are good at what they do. Fast paced, perico ripiao inspired urban merengue, incorporating many other facets of Latin music( namely salsa and reggaeton ) that is enjoyed as much in NY as it is in Santo Domingo! I give it 4 stars cuz Acosta and crew have not lost an ounce of energy and still do merengue this way better than the rest. The dedication to Celia "La Reina" Cruz is appropriate as she passed last year and won't soon be forgotten.

this cd is fire...its all packed and ready for 2005, this cd is sooo good, i could brag about it all day...the song that really stood out was los santos(the best song on the cd)...overall it was off the hook....any merengue fan should get this...

The music contained in this album is very upbeat, and very danceable. The lyrics are humerous, and keep you entertained. Anyone new to merengue, (as myself) should buy this CD. Your money will not be wasted.

I used to dance to Oro Solido at a lot of clubs in LA and it is sooo popular in the latin clubs there. The fast paced beat is awesome to dance to and if you are dancin' with a partner be prepared for a dizziing whirl on the dance floor!

Baile del Gorila is a fine slow rolling merengue with lots of moves which puts this CD into the must have class. The Cumbia Picara, is (I finally realized) not a cumbia, but another rolling merengue with lots of moves. The bachata is real though -- and swings. The first three merengues will wear down anyone who does much more than shimmer to them. They go more with Solido's high energy visual dance ensemble at live performances such as at the Latin Palace where I saw them. Gorila joins a string of superhits from Maria se fue to Paleta, innovative conceptually and musically.

An upbeat cd Oro Solido style!.......2002-07-19

I was very surprised when I listened to this album. I did not expect it to be so full of energy and charisma. Raul Acosta once again has risen to the occasion and is showing the world that his style of "mambo merengue" is real and here to stay. Honestly, I am not fan of "Oro Solido" and seldomly listen to their music but I will give credit when credit is due. This merengue is up beat, fast paced with crazy lyrics which makes dancing this kind a merengue a lot of fun. Also included is a bachata and a cumbia which are debuts for Oro Solido in each genre respectively and are very well done. This is dancer's album from start to finish. Therefore, if you like fast paced, mambo merengue Oro Solido style you will love this album. Bueno ponte a bailar hasta las quince mama...

A nice album to jam to............2002-06-10

Well I must say that Raul Acosta never stops coming out with new ways to jam a party. The songs "codigo de areas" "bachata pa'bailar" "pijama party" "reina de la pista" are some very hot songs. There's no doubt about this album that it has a lot of "HITS". So don't miss it, you won't regret it.......

Raul Acosta and Oro Solido do it again! WOW heavy high energy Bomba (Merengue). The first release cut 1 "La Reina De La Pista" jams with all the ladies in the clubs, that love to move their stuff. The second release cut 10 "El Baile Del Gorila" is just savage (salvaje), a great bomba jam. Another "Hasta Las Quince..." merengue production jam from Oro Solido. If you are an Oro Solido fan or just a merengue crazed aficionado you will love this CD. By the way the listing here is wrong, there are 10 cuts in the CD...
