Viento a Favor is Mexican superstar Alejandro Fernandez's 15th studio disc in as many years as a singer. But he still approaches each project with the urgency and earnestness of a newbie singer. That's what makes each tune a small celebration, an intimate moment of discovery. There are no wasted moments amid the sterling arrangements, some of the best in Fernandez's lush pop repertoire. (He's an equally heralded ranchera singer.) Viento a Favor features tunes written by Leonel Garcia and Noel Schajris (better known as emotive Latin-pop duo Sin Bandera) and Mexican singer Reyli Barba. They're all taken to wuthering heights by Fernandez's stellar vocal range, which goes from hushed whispers to booming intensity. First single "Te Voy a Perder" is an epic romance, and "Amor Gitano," a duet with bilingual diva Beyoncé, expectedly smolders. . . . with this voice. This is definitely adult pop, the direction Alex's music has been taking for the last few years now. He's matured and so has his voice; it's much more resonant and you hear that better singing ballads and this type of smooth pop than the traditional mariachi music. Hard to pick a favorite here, but "Te Voy A Perder" and "Sin Consideracion" are the songs most likely to appeal across genres. Alex is sure to win some new fans with this mix. Even if you don't speak Spanish, he still makes you feel the mood of his songs and you will believe you understand what he's singing. He is La Voz (The Voice).

Alejandro has a very pleasant voice that projects real feelings in the words he is expressing. Whether he sings pop or rancheras his voice captures the listener.

Love the hit song "Te voy a perder" and the song with Beyonce', but the rest of the songs are okay. Kinda boring. They are not Alejandro's style of music. I love Alejandro soooooo much I dream of him. I listen to his concert in Spain CD three to four times a week and watch his DVD very often. He's my idol. I love his other cd's also "Corazon Abierto" and his Mariachi CD's. He's awesome! This new cd of his, just isn't his style. I believe he's trying to get into the pop scene, but he's better with his balads and Mariachi music. If you want to listen to it, I suggest buying a used one instead and save your money.

I HAVE BEEN AN A. FERNANDEZ FAN SINCE HIS FIRST ALBUM. FROM THEN TILL NOW, I STILL STAND BY WHAT IVE THOUGHT, THAT HE IS THE BEST MALE VOICE IVE EVER HEARD. THIS ALBUM IS SPECIAL BECAUSE OF ITS FEEL, ITS DIFFERENT.
ITS UNIQUE. WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THE FIRST TRACK, YOU ARE WAITING ANXIOUSLY TO HEAR THE NEXT, ITS THAT GREAT.THE MUSIC IS BEAUTIFUL, AND WHEN YOU ADD ALEXS' VOICE, YOU HAVE GOT A PERFECT ALBUM, YOU HAVE GOT VIENTO A FAVOR.

this album is better than the first. The dance songs are much better and there are alot more of them. THis album also has great ballads. They are a really good group with a great female vocal. The song Amor The Papel is great. Also Fiesta is great with a funny video.

GReaT cD!.......1999-12-01

This is Sentidos Opuestos' second and best cd! All the trax, even few ballads are good! Most trax are dance. it features "tu y yo" "amor de papel" and the song "sonadoras" from the novela although the words and title are different "Fiesta" over all this is a great cd! by the way, the vocalist ALESSANDRA is very beautiful!

Good, but no match for Fey........1999-10-14

Both this CD and Fey's "El Color de los Suenos" feature catchy dance-pop, but Fey's production team's creative use of percussion, sound effects and backing vocals make it clear who went the extra mile to provide "ear candy" to us listeners. "Tu y Yo" is a keeper, and if you're about the same age and gender as the protagonists of "Sonadoras," you could probably overlook "Fiesta"'s banality.

A friend let me borrow his CD and I liked it so much that I kept the CD and I never gave it back I said that I lost it and I still have the CD, and I listen to it everyday. THE SONGS ARE THE BEST ONES IN POP MUSIC...
