This collection of 15 great hits of Nicola Di Bari in spanish is missing one of his most (if not the most) important and popular song: "Lisa de los ojos azules". I wouldn't buy this CD without that song.

He was Mexico's first and perhaps biggest charro cantor (singing cowboy), and he played his role to the hilt. In dozens of movies, Jorge Negrete played the big romantic hero, and with his operatic vocal training, he interpreted the Mexican folk songs with an inspired reading and made them unforgettable hits. Among them, and included here, are "Juan Charrasqueado," "El Hijo del Pueblo," and "Ay Jalisco No Te Rajes," the title track from the popular movie of the same name, the film that first put Negrete on the map. Other tunes on this CD became Negrete signature songs--"Yo Soy Mexicano," on pride and patriotism; "Amor con Amor Se Paga," on the give-and-take in romance; and "Mexico Lindo," whose sad lyrics of dying on foreign soil became prophetic for Negrete when he died in a Los Angeles hospital in December 1953. --Ramiro Burr

Jorge Negrete has a wonderful voice with a great expression of emotion making him the best Mexican singers of rancheras, corridos, and ballads.

This compilation will sure give you a taste of that wonderful voice accompanied by great Mariachi bands. If you are familiar with Jorge Negrete, this compilation would remind you of his songs and movies.

There will never be another authentic Mexican singer to equal his charisma and ability to sing corridos, rancheras and ballads. He could sing everything, as I can best remember. I remember his movies and his singing from the 40's and 50's. Whenever I listen to his Exitos Inmortales, I can go back in time to re-live and experience the Golden Age of the Mexican Charro.

Jorge Negrete was the most sexiest man around back in the early fifties, and soromantic too. He knew exactly how to treat a woman, he was such a gentleman and handsome too, I was only a child then, but I remember all the women going crazy over him. I used to wonder why, but after I see the men of today I feel sad. It was very nice to look up to your man. I understand that some women had something to do with it. But do the rest of us have to pay for it.?

I loved this CD. There were a couple of the songs that I did not like but I loved the rest. Remember that you can listen to any of the tracks (30 Seconds worth) before you buy. Happy Shopping!!!

Estas canciones son los hits de Timbiriche que se bailaba en los 80's. La portada no me gusta--parece algo de una orgia. Timbiriche siempre era un grupo muy sano y esta portada no los representa para nada.

If you were a teenager living in Mexico way back in the 80's you surely know what Timbiriche means. It means your first love, your first time to a disco, Acapulco dancing all night and of course the latest fashion. I must admit that they're not precisely "master musicians" but their songs are catchy and danceable, so if you're into the 80's nostalgia mood..this is your choice.

Long before Rickey Martin,Enrique Iglesias, and others there was the one and only Camilo Sesto! This gentleman best exemplifies beautiful lyrics with strong and smooth vocals. A true catch for any one who respects classic latin/spanish sounds. No "vida loca" or "bon bon" shaking here, for the fan that sees beyond all hype and fads.

Para quienes hemos seguido de cerca la obra de este extraordinario cantante tenemos con especial cariño este disco por cuanto incluye algunos temas con sonido "monoaural", es decir, manteniendo con la mayor fidelidad posible el audio original.

Los temas forman parte del repertorio mas conocido de Javier como En mi viejo San Juan - Lágrimas de amor - El loco - Llorarás, llorarás y 11 temas mas de muy gran factura. Entre ellos se incluye la última canción que grabara el artista "Amigo organillero".

I have been listening to Javier Solis since I was a little girl back home in Belize in Central America. Javier Solis takes you into another world where music is music and you feel all warm and you love life at that specific moment that he is singing. The music by the mariachis is just overwhelming and you want to listen to it over and over. I just love TU VOZ and i can't see it on the internet. I think it must be on his first album. I wish the world would listen to this music as it is brilliant!...

King of the Mexican Bolero.......2000-06-11

The voice of Javier Solis may never come again but thank God it was captured and now released on CD. Along with Jose Alfredo Jiminez, amd Pedro Infante these guys are considered icons from a bygone era. Tragically he died young but his music lives on. If you're in the mood for some Mexican romantic music, or boleros, this is the one to put on. The arrangemants are superb, with full Mariachi that will fill your room and transport you to Mexico. "Payaso" and "En Mi Vijo San Juan" are two of my favorites. You might want to put this CD in the carousel with others to listen to as too many boleros can be hard to take. The beauty is in his rich tenor that melts hearts and makes even skeptics a little romantic. His voice is lush, strong yet at times whispering soft, but always good. If you want to experience some classic Mexican boleros this guy is the king of romantic music. The good thing is that his voice or lyrics never offend so it is not sappy or syrupy, just a beautiful voice singing from the depths of his soul for your heart.
