5 out of 5 stars Awesome, great New Age!.......2007-07-06

I have to say, I downloaded "The Child in Us" on IMesh, and I fell in love of the whole aura the song portrayed. I bought the CD just for this song, but I fell in love of it all. Enigma is one of those artists who really makes music, and every touch, detail, and passion can be felt. The songs with lyrics, as well as those without each have a special meaning which transports you to someplace inside and make reflections. Even though some songs do not have lots and lots of lyrics, are brief but just right and DO HAVE A MEANING. Another point is that the music never stops from a song to the other, it is just a pleasant trip and the changes between songs are just well worked so each escence does not get lost or has an abrupt ending. Powerful "The Roundabout" and "Why...! bring an interesting mixture of soft and agressive vocals, maintaining the concept of new age music blends; meanwhile, soft and beautiful "Child in Us", "Prism of Life", and "Shadows in Silence" totally brings auras of peace and thought. New Age is the music of the future as many already have that concept in mind, and will possibly be. This is way better than most of the musical crap among popular music, and when I listen to each song here I am just transported to a NEW ERA, and forget about what is being heard outside =)

    5 out of 5 stars Mesmerizing................2007-04-17

To listen to Enigma is to
    go out of your mind......
    but in a good way.
    Take the trip--
    it's well worth it.
    I highly recommend them to
    one and to all.

5 out of 5 stars Essential T.N.T. For The Brain.......2006-02-07

Aside from hearing someone else's copy of 'The Screen Behind The Mirror', 'Love Sensuality Devotion' was my first album by Enigma. However, my actual introduction was through the 'Sadness' single. At the time it was unlike anything I'd ever heard before and I was simply blown-away by the Gregorian chanting set amidst modern world grooves and infectiously seductive dance beats.

By no means is Enigma considered mainstream but I have heard them on the radio before. Just like Delerium, they'll never receive top 40 airplay but they're more well-known than B-Tribe or Sacred Spirit, for example, because of club-friendly remixes and the successful Pure Moods series which has caught the attention of some unlikely listeners.

Their greatest hits compilation came out just as I was trying to decide which record of theirs to start with, and it turned out to be the perfect preface before launching my intent to gather their entire catalogue of works. Since I had a good feeling about it, I finally made up my mind and bought their third release, 'Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!' first and do not regret having done so. The eight new tracks (to me) that weren't included on LSD are absolutely breathtaking and I'm astounded by how well the CD holds up as a whole. It must have been a difficult process to hand select their so-called "best" songs because they're all so amazing! I thought I had the best of the best already but now I'm more determined than ever to someday own everything Enigma's produced. This album flows at a beautiful pace, and while the songs are hardly subtle, they're not quite as upbeat as some of their previous material. "Why! ..." is probably my favorite cut as Michael Cretu screams, in a non-abrasive kind of way, "I'm asking why!" atop a lush, moody soundscape. I also love "The Roundabout" which is very Deep Forest-esque, as well as some old favorites like "Beyond The Invisible" and "T.N.T. For The Brain". They're truly all gems, though, and this is definitely worth your time and money so don't just settle with their singles.

5 out of 5 stars The "best" New Age album ever.......2006-01-19

I was reading through some trashy reviews of some customers who don't know actually what is new age music. If you wish to get pure new age album I recommend this one because this would be the best you will have. This is the masterpiece of Enigma. I owned all 5 Enigma albums and my favourite one is this.

Cretu has used samples like Gregorian Chants, Celtic Chants in perfect way. The significant thing is all samples are based on the songs and not the songs are based on the samples. I saw in some reviews that the tracks like "Third of its kind","Oddessey of the mind" are just fillers. Thats not correct, those tracks are part of the whole story. Thats why we call this Enigma. Even the sleeve of this cd is greatly done. Definitely you will love this one. Dont afraid to buy this cd. Good Luck....!!!

5 out of 5 stars Enigma 3: Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi.......2005-08-26

They did it again. I love their music. It makes me feel so relaxed. I play it driving to work and coming home, a good 40 min. drive, and this just makes the time fly. Keep them coming.

    4 out of 5 stars Fierce Angel/Hed Kandi/Mark Doyle Newbie Here.......2006-10-12

I'd read several reviews on Hed Kandi and they made mention of Mark Doyle and moving to Fierce Angel. After some research I picked this album as I was looking for something cutting edge; something to bring me up to speed on the state of dance, trance, and house.

From beginning to end it is very well produced. The transistions are fluid and the song selection makes good sense. The lyrics are intelligent and paint a deliberate picture.

Not being familiar with Mark's style I was pleasantly satisfied with this compilation. Granted that this album is comprised as an annual I feel that it runs a little long. I'm not sure if that's a complaint or not - I've only given it a couple of playthroughs and am on my 3rd - in 24 hours!

    5 out of 5 stars Stunning.......2006-09-05

As one of the Hed Kandi fans who have hopped over to Fierce Angel, I have to say that this is one of the most stunning mix albums that I have enjoyed listening to. A person can't go wrong with Mark Doyle's compliations and this mix album is no different. His choices are remarkable and I love listening to both familiar and new artists and songs. This mix is great for anywhere and anyone who wants to hear some great new music. I love listening when I'm working out and when I'm relaxing.

There are three CDs and these with a location and vibe to them. The first CD is called Poolside with some chill tunes from some great artists like Bonnie Bailey, Granddad Bob, and (my new favorite) Bob Sinclar feat. Steve Edwards. Poolside can be compared to Hed Kandi's Serve Chilled. The second CD is called the Base Bar, where the music is more uptempo and can be compared to Hed Kandi's Disco Heaven. The Base Bar CD is my favorite as I love to dance and workout to the rhythms. I have new favorites in artists like Jealousy, Etherfox, the fabulous Bassmonkeys feat. Naomi Marsh, Milk & Sugar, Simmonds & Christoper, Club, and older favorites like FatBoy Silm. Hands down, the Base Bar is the CD I put on for parties. The last CD is called The Electric Cabaret where the music gets nasty and dirty like Hed Kandi's Twisted Disco. Although this genre of dance music is not like favorite, but every now and then when it gets past 3a.m. and it's late, and the clubs are closing, I love to hear the Electric Cabaret. It just gets raw and I love it.

Overall, an excellent mix album that is very much showing to be both superior in taste and selection compared to Hed Kandi these days. The Ministry of Sound didn't improve Hed Kandi very much unfortunately. Very recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Stellar! Mark Doyle continues his musical greatness..........2006-09-05

As was the case with Hed Kandi, when Mark Doyle was at the helm, you could truly do no wrong by picking up anything they put out. Depending upon your preferences (Chill, Back to Love, Beach, Disco, Twisted Disco, etc), you were sure to find nothing but aural bliss.

So true was this with his Tokyo Disco/Project after his departure from Hed Kandi, taking with him artist Jason Brooks and a few dj's as well. Beautiful. His venture which now seems to be entitled Fierce Angel, is no different. The "Beach" set is amazing, but this Es Vive Ibiza set, which was also on Hed Kandi back in the day as well, is nothing short of amazing.

Dare I say, it is worth the price of this package alone just for the first disc. It is absolutely beautiful. I have not heard things of such beauty outside of a Bent cd, or perhaps something by Jose Padilla. Starting with tracks by Granddad Bob, others by Bonnie Bailey, Roger Sanchez, etc...it is all, incredible. Absolutely, completely gorgeous. First listened to it here on South Beach while the sun was still beautifully shining and reflecting off the Atlantic, yet from Miami itself, I could see dark storm clouds rolling in for some afternoon thunderstorms. In sun, in rain, this cd was perfect. So too was it at night, as the lights of downtown Miami began to flicker on from the back view of my rear penthouse balcony. Take a walk to the front of the house and open the doors to the front balcony, and I was met with the semi-moonlit night and the waves of the ocean gently lapping upon South Beach as this set continued to play, never changing the mood at all. Incredible.

Thank Mark Doyle for all you have contributed, and all you continue to contribute, to my life over these many years. It is deeply appreciated. This set is no exception and you will definitely appreciate it should you pick it up. I highly recommend it.

    5 out of 5 stars Valuable compendium.......2007-01-24

This set is extremely valuable, not only as an overview of Dame Joans career but because it contains three complete LP sets that have been very hard to find. The sets are the 2 LP French opera (operetta) set, the Mozart album and the Wagner album. Although some of these do not show her to her best advantage (the Wagner set) they all have some very beautiful things and the French items are superb. The annotations and photos are interesting as well and there are some piano songs with Bonynge that are released here for the first time along with a scene from a live Covent Garden Norma.

5 out of 5 stars Rareties available on CD at last!.......2006-03-29

While Joan Sutherland has recorded a number of impressive aria collections throughout the many years of her recording career, they tend to get lost in the shuffle of the countless reissues Decca/London has endlessly repackaged. While some of the original collections have appeared intact on CD--"The Art of the Prima Donna," "The Age of Bel Canto," "Love Live Forever" (her operetta collection that was originally titled "The Golden Age of Operetta"), to name a few--others are currently represented in the CD catalogue by only a few selections on discs that also include excerpts from complete opera recordings or duplicates of selections from other original collections. As a result, it has been impossible to assemble a CD collection of her recordings without a LOT of duplication, and some of the most interesting collections are still unavailable (e.g. "Command Performance" and "Serate Musicale").

While this newest set does include a lot of bits of this and that, ranging from her very first LPs to excerpts from complete recordings most Sutherland fans already have and a few "live" performances, what is perhaps most significant about it is that it features the complete contents of the "Sutherland Sings Wagner" LP--a real repertoire departure for her--and the double-LP album called "French Opera Gala" (in the U.S.--the British title was "Romantic French Arias"), neither of which, to the best of my knowledge, has been available on CD before. "Opera News" magazine once ran an article in which they asked various stars to name the one album that they felt best represented their artistry for future generations, and Dame Joan selected the "French Opera Gala," so for Sutherland fans, this is a long-awaited treat.

I'm not going to waste space saying how miraculous I consider Dame Joan's artistry. If you are familiar with her work already, you know whether you adore her or not; and if you aren't, this massive set is probably not the best place to start (that would be "The Art of the Prima Donna" album that introduced her to most listeners decades ago)--especially since this newest set doesn't contain the lyrics, a must for newcomers. Let's hope Decca/London gets around to releasing the rest of her recordings intact instead of endlessly scrambling and repackaging the same selections over and over.

    5 out of 5 stars Heavenly.......2006-01-31

I first heard of Dame Sutherland while on the internet while listening to a internet radio station. I was instantly a fan, her control, technique, and tone is perfectly executed and rivals the equally fantastic Maria Callas. She has a powerful voice and presence that will evoke every emotion from her listeners. Highly recommended to all Opera Diva fans.

5 out of 5 stars WHO ELSE CAN SING LIKE THIS TODAY?.......2005-04-10

This is Decca's second multi disc evaluation of this fantastic singer's long career and many recordings. True that a lot on the first set is duplicated here, but there are a few exceptions here and there that make it a worthy addition. Of particular interest are the very early items of Handel and Italian baroque arias, some forgotten song recordings and a live performance of the duet from Norma. It can't be said too many times - who can sing like this today? For sheer vocalism it's hard to find anyone on the same wavelength. Yet again, the fascinating French soprano Natalie Dessay has come up with a winning recital. Canary fanciers can love her without guilt: her high notes are all in place (up to a solid E natural), her skill with fast coloratura is astonishing, her pitch is ideal, and her breath control is massive. But she's as interested in creating character as she is in pure singing. For once Ophelia's long Mad Scene from Thomas' Hamlet is a truly dramatic, heartbreaking event, for instance; similarly, Manon sounds young and sassy, as she should. Rarities by Boieldieu and Offenbach are a joy to hear; "Je suis Titania" and Juliette's Waltz Song are suitably virtuosic and show-offy--she's as good as any of the so-called "Golden Age" sopranos in this repertoire. Her tone remains full and pretty; only the very top notes have a bit of an edge, but this hardly detracts. In short, this is a remarkable recital--interesting pieces, gloriously sung. --Robert Levine

4 out of 5 stars Natalie Dessay in the French Repertoire: Nicely Done!.......2007-03-08

Here, Natalie Dessay sings French arias. All in all, a satisfying album, with a few exceptions as noted below. A few samples of the cuts on this CD.

From Massenet's "Manon," she sings nicely. "Suis-je gentile ainsi" shows off her clear, light, agile voice. She demonstrates a decent trill and nice high note. "Obeissons quand leur voix appelle" is sung at a slower pace. Well sung, with some subtle vocal effects. This closes with a nice run, but a rather harshly sung high note. Then, "Rive toujours." This begins at a slower pace, but picks up. There is some nice ornamentation. For the most part, this is sweetly sung.

Thomas' "Mignon" features a wonderful piece, "Je suis Titania la blonde." Dessay, again, displays an agile and attractive voice. She demonstrates capable coloratura technique, featuring some nicely done appoggiaturas. In the last segment, she manifests a nice trill. Her penultimate high note is a bit harsh. However, she concludes with a very well done set of trills and a good high note.

From Gounod's "Romeo et Juliette," we have "Ah! Je veux vivre." The first part is smoothly sung. Nice characterization by Dessay. There is some attractive and pleasant florid singing at the end. Finally, from Thomas' "Hamlet," she essays "A vos jeux mes amis." Nice effects and good vocal technique are displayed. Her voice is attractive in this cut. Nice ornamentation toward the end. Some good trills and some nicely hit high notes.

This is a fine CD. Natalie Dessay shows her vocal virtues to good effect. She is obviously quite at home on the French repertoire, and this CD demonstrates that statement very clearly.

2 out of 5 stars Another French Album?!.......2005-12-26

Does Natalie Dessay even know how to sing Italian? Whatever. I find her boring and flat. Her middle range drives me batty 'cas it's non exsistent and too sharp for my taste. I have no clue how anyone can compare her to Lily Pons becuase Pons notes were flawless and effortless. I always hold my breath to see if Dessay hits her notes well or if it just comes out piercing and sharp. She's about 50/50. She is no Lily Pons. She's decent but utterly forgettable and frankly I'm not sure why people are so enraptured by her. I find Sumi Jo much more appealing and talented

5 out of 5 stars Le vrai Amour & la Grande Musique.......2004-05-14

    5 out of 5 stars Salut à la France!.......2004-05-10

Natalie Dessay is a delight on this CD of arias from 19th century French Opera. The listener can experience a singer who is both concerned about the vocal and interpretative values of each selection of this recital. The first two tracks of the Cours de la Reine Scene from Massenet's 'Manon' show a fresh voice that portrays easily the youth and frivolity of the title character. All the stacattos, cadenzas and high notes are on the service of the character. It is delightful to find some rarities on this recital, like the Fabliau from 'Manon' (an alternative aria that Massenet composed for sustitution of the Gavotte) and the pieces from 'Chérubin', 'La fête du village voisin' and 'Robinson Crusoe'. On the selection by Offenbach, Dessay sings a stunning trill on a Dflat and then goes to expectacular scales, finishing the dazzling waltz with an elaborate cadenza and a firm high E. Another highlight of the CD is the elaborate aria from 'Le Comte Ory' by Rossini, where the soprano's attention to the nuances of the piece bring out a lively interpretation. The aria from 'La fille du régiment' makes us wish for a complete recording of the opera. However, the best part of the CD are the last two tracks. Dessay brings all her gifts to a climax with a marvelous performance of the Ophélie's Mad and Death Scenes from 'Hamlet' by Ambroise Thomas. This version of the Mad Scene is even better than her previous rendition on her last recital of French arias. This is a highly emotional interpretation where all the brilliant scales and cadenzas reflect the changing moods of Ophelie's madness and her despair as well as her innocence. This is the definitive performance of this music on records, period. The Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and the Choeur 'Les Eléments', ably conducted by Michel Plasson, complement Dessay beautifully. In summary, another wonderful CD by one of the most remarkable coloratura sopranos of our time.

4 out of 5 stars Wonderful, but a minor quality control problem.......2004-04-02

Five stars for Natalie Dessay, who has an incredible instrument, and a great selection of arias. But I've listened to 4 copies of this disc and each had a very short "click" at 2:22 on track 2 (the Gavotte from Manon). Must be a quality control problem. Maybe it was just a bad batch.

Anyway, Dessay's voice is a force of nature; she must be one of the greatest coloraturas ever. I prefer her live version of Handel's "Tornami" from Alcina to Sutherland's. And she's incredible on Orphee Aux Enfers - not only a wonderful singer, but obviously a great actress and comedienne.

So, if you've not heard her before, give this album a try - ignore the "click" and listen to a truly angelic voice.

So 5 stars for Natalie Dessay and the selections, and a slap on the wrist for the record label and its quality control.

5 out of 5 stars SILLS GOES FOR BROKE -------- AND SHE TRIUMPHS.......2006-04-17

I, being a great admirer of Callas, Caballe', Sutherland, and Sills, cannot understand why people so vehemently bash one of them in favor of the other. This does nothing to further the interest of music, and it reduces great operatic singing to the level of ice hockey. "Anna Bolena" is an opera that requires a very special type of soprano. It is, essentially, a florid bel canto opera for a considerably heavier voice than that associated with such bel canto heroines such as those encountered in "Puritani", "Sonnambula", and "Lucia". A great "Anna Bolena" should also be able to command Norma and Rossini's "Semiramide". Beverly Sills had a basically small voice, and she herself has admitted repeatedly that her undertaking Donizetti's Three Queens (Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda, and Elizabeth in "Roberto Devereux) probably shortened her career by a decade. She was, of course, right. She certainly makes Anna Bolena a convincing vocal creation, and she sings with great conviction and involvement. But even so, there are moments when you know that she's pushing her resources to the virtual end of their endurance. She manufactures low chest tones that are completely out of allignment with the rest of her voice, and some of her top notes are nothing more than pitched screams. Of course, her passion and sincerity compensates for a lot of these deficiencies, and she emerges with a great success. I respect Sills, and have always felt that she was a little undone by her publicity machine, as well as the constant shadows of Callas, Sutherland, and Caballe. Truth to tell, all three had voices far more suited to these heavier bel canto roles. I'm not going to enter any fray and state any opinions here. Beverly Sills put forth a tremendous amount of skill and effort into roles like Anna Bolena, and she paid a vocal price, as one can hear on this recording. Still, I wouldn't be without this performance. Shirley Verrett is an outstanding Jane Seymour (she certainly could have sung Anna Bolena!), though I'm not sure that she and Sills blend all that well together. Whatever the case, let's give all these great sopranos a break and stop bashing them. My message to the bashers is: Callas, Sills, Caballe' & Sutherland have BEEN there and made it. What have YOU accomplished?

    1 out of 5 stars Enough!.......2006-01-25

Will this awfully mellow coloratura chirper ever stop shrieking? Sills couldn't fit the role of Anna less! Maria Callas, La Divina, has always been, and will always remain the role's owner.
Incidentally, how can some people blatantly dare show their absolute ignorance? How can somebody call -and get away with it- Callas' soloists Nicola Rossi-Lemeni, Giulietta Simionato, and Gianni Raimondi "second rate"??? I guess you've neither listened to any of them nor heard of their superb and much acclaimed qualities as musicians!!!

5 out of 5 stars The best set available - wonderful.......2005-03-27

This is one of my favourite operas. I have heard the Callas, Sunderland (CD and DVD performances) and Gruberova (not to mention some live recordings).

Callas was breathtaking in her live performance from the 50's (especially in Act 3) BUT the sound quality is very poor indeed and the other soloists are second rate. The performance was also heavily cut. I only wish she had recorded the whole opera in the studio, instead of one or two arias.

Sunderland was well past her prime by the time she recorded her performance on CD. Her diction, never a strong point for her, is particularly 'woolly' and she has problems sustaining the higher register without strain. It is a pity she didn't record it much earlier in her career. Boynage conducts in a pedestrian manner too (compare the overture from Boynage and Rudel, Rudel makes the overture exciting and vibrant. Boynage conducts a somewhat flat and one dimensional rendition).

Gruberova's recording on CD is from a live performance and is truly aweful in places. I actually think it is one of the worst performances of anything I have ever heard 'recorded'. Don't touch it with a barge pole.

Then there is Sills performance. OK, I wish the voice was a little heavier at times but her singing is, as usual, beautiful. You feel that Anna Bolena is a role she loved, she conveys dramatic sincerity throughout. Rudel conducts his orchestral forces with such energy. Indeed, he is a major selling point of this set for me. He injects the performance with flair and gusto. Verrett, Burrows and Plishka don't put a foot wrong. A wonderful performance. I love this recording above all the others. Buy it. This set leaves the competition standing, (although, if you can tolerate the appalling sound, Callas' performance is fantastic too, however overall this set is far superior).

    4 out of 5 stars A great Anna.......2004-05-20

I'm sorry if I hurt anyone. I was just so mad and angry because Callas got bashed so many times by a Sills-Fanatic. I deeply apologise. Sills has a very beautiful voice, one of the best lyric coloratura voices out there. I hope Bev's fans will forgive me. This is one of the best Annas ever.

    1 out of 5 stars I've had it!.......2004-05-20

A Sills-Fanatic keeps bashing Callas with one star reviews in a row! I warned him that our patience is at its end! Now we'll retaliate! Sills is AWFUL as Anna Bolena, thin, sour, glassy and fake with no middle. A stupid coloratura chirper. Stop singing, Sills! My ears hurt, stop shrieking!

4 out of 5 stars To me, her best.......2007-07-01

I have several CDs of Gheorghiu. This is the one I prefer. I also have the DVD of her and her husband in Elisir. It was entertaining, but like in her Casta Diva disc, I didn't think her coloratura passed muster. I thought her singing in the Verdi disc was anemic. Every time she bursts into Tu che le vanita, I immediately and always think of Callas. That was one of the things that hooked me on opera in the first place, though I'm not a big fan of Callas. It just isn't there when Gheorghiu does it, though that's only one aria on the disc. I think Gheorghiu is a little overrated (still), and I think it came about when she burst on the scene in lovebird duets with her husband. But in this recital, I think she does an adequate job, and I still have her other CDs (and more amazing, bought them in the first place). She has a pretty voice and uses it well enough I think in at least this recital.

5 out of 5 stars One of Gheorghiu's best recitals.......2007-01-09

I have played this CD numerous times since buying it many years ago. Whilst not 'perfect' to some, I still think it is one of Gheorghiu's best recitals recorded.

    5 out of 5 stars exquisite!.......2006-11-02

In this recording Ms. Gheorghiu shows why she is one of the most extraordinary voices of our time. Her phrasing, musicality and expression is impecable. I seriously recommend this CD to anyone who wants to know how an opera singer is supposed to be heard.

4 out of 5 stars Some good sounding Cuban music from the 1960s.......2005-10-18

This is a compilation, by a French producer I think, of Che-themed songs. Lots of Latin American bands. Some nice club recordings of Carlos Pueblo from the 1960s. A little bright, but clear. A good compilation. A few newer tracks from Europe too, which don't quite cut the mustard. Altogether relaxing folk music.

A very nice set. And I'm not usually a fan of South or Central American music. Che was just a minor and odd figure of recent history, about which there is cult of personality; but there's some nice music here.

5 out of 5 stars Gorw up and Understand JUAKY.......2001-04-12

Keep Castro and Guevara apart. They did fought together, but were different men. Guevara was a man that followed his heart. One should wish to have the spirit and strength to follow your believes. Are you following yours? The CD is fantastic, the music excellent.

5 out of 5 stars Great tribute to Che.......1999-06-06

This is a great tribute to Che, which brings Che back alive. The lyrics of the songs are very good and sometimes emotional. My favorite songs are: Nada mas and Guitarra en Duelo Mayor. On the cover there are even some very uncommon pics of Che. Don't hesitate to buy this one and ... don't forget: El Che vive!

    5 out of 5 stars A masterpiece.......1999-05-12

This compilation which is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Che Guevara's death can be characterised as excelent. All the tracks are compositions refered on Che's life and fights, mostly emerging from Latin American countries or countries that greatly affected by his ideology. Hasta Siempre is the major composition of the album, presented in three different versions. The best version of this song is singed by Soledad Bravo, and personally I think that is one of the best slow latin compositions. Maria Farandouri is also well singing the same track, -in a faster tempo- which was a major hit during mid 70s at Greece. The album is an excelent piece for people who like political music but also appreciate good latin compositions.

4 out of 5 stars A quality tribute to Che Guevara........1998-06-16

Songs commemorating the 30-year anniversary of El Che's death. Most are very good. Songs by Carlos Puebla, Atahualpa Yupanqui, a speech by Che and songs by many other artists.

4 out of 5 stars Track list, etc........2006-08-11

Since there is absolutely zero info here about this album, I'll add this:
Vive La Différence! is Swedish pop band Eggstone's third album, which was released in Sweden and Japan in January 1997. It was the first - and last - full-length release by the band on their own record label Vibrafon. The album was preceded by the single Never Been A Better Day, as well as the sheet music for the entire album, in December. Vive La Différence!, along with the two previous Eggstone albums Eggstone In San Diego and Somersault, were re-issued on vinyl in 1997 by Vibrafon Records.
