Outstanding music from the past to present. Awesome memorabilia set. There are songs on this CD that goes down in history forever.

Vicente's voice is smooth, expressive and passionate. All his music delivers his convictions of love in your ears.

A great CD to own. Pick up the second half of this two CD set, and get more from Doñ Vicente Fernandez and just lay back and listen.

This is the one Chente Cd you would want to have left in your car if your house burned down. This is the one you'll always come back to after staying out all night with those other 'viejas'. By the way I really wish they would put more info in the sleeves like lyrics or some nice sombrero poses. Please Don Chente, have someone 'fix' your website too, please?

Incomparable !.......2004-11-10

A wonderful compilation of the most popular songs sung by the the legendary Vicente Fernandez. This album and Historia de un Idolo 2 is a must have for anyone that loves Vicente, musica ranchera or love Mexican music. His voice is incredibly beautiful, and powerful. I went to see him live in Madison Sq. Garden and he sounds exactly the same. His voice as beautiful as ever. He sang for 2 and a haft hours without intermission. Chente is in a class by himself. Incomparable !

Excellent sampling of greats from"El Rey"!.......2003-01-23

This is another "must have" Chente CD with a bunch of his truly classic songs. Like one of the other reviewers said, Vicente Fernandez can be compared to Frank Sinatra in both his mastery and popularity in his chosen form of music. But even Frank did'nt have pipes like these! "El Rey" is in a class of his own.
Some of the best tunes here include the beautiful "Lastima Que Seas Ajena" and the powerfully mournful "Que De Raro Tiene". Still, the tops on this CD and one of his best ever is the heart-wrenching "Mi Viejo". It would take a rather heartless soul to not be moved by this song. It's that good.
As good as this collection is, I give it four stars only because overall, I like the song selection on "Historia, Vol. 2" a little better. This is, however, just my personal taste and most Chente fans will be very happy with either one of these discs. In fact, these two CD's would give a new Chente fan an excellent introduction to his music.

This album is terrific. All of the songs take me back to the days of the old Mexican west, and Vincente seems to be living his songs as he sings them. I play this cd over and over, I can't get enough.

En esta coleccion de 2 cd.del volumen I hay que destacar la muy buena recopilaci?n de los temas como tambien ocurre en el Vol 2 y Vol 3.Una coleccion imprecindible para todos los seguidores de esta grandisima artista donde encontramos lo mejor de su inmejorable repertorio.Muy bonita la foto de la portada y muy bonito todo.
En este Vol.I hay que destacar algun tema como...Sola,Una vez mas y En algun lugar... que son dificiles de encontrar en las recopilaciones y en sonido digital!!!CD maravilloso!!!

Antonio Morales & Rocio Durcal: Pure Gold.......2004-05-22

You cannot deny the chemistry of these two artists; no wonder they wed. But until this collection, only a few songs were available for listening. Similar to volume two, this collection of 32 songs include rare songs not included in any cd: Amor del Alma (1977), Ya no me busques mas (1977), En algun lugar (1977), and Cuando Todo Se Acabe (1980). A variety of songs were written for Durcal's 1977 debut by Antonio Morales. Following her acclaim and controversy over a certain film, she dedicated her second half of her career with songs written by Juan Gabriel, and the limited release of Canta Con Mariachi, Vol. 4 with songs by the most famous songwriters, which some are included in this volume. Includes a four picture sleeve and brief biography. Track listing is ackward, but if anything, leave the rest of the best of albums alone and buy this collection, the most complete.
