Their great and I have some more cds of them closed in NEW condition, so if anybody is interested I can sell them, and actually Arturo Castro is going to release in a few months a new album that is just great, there's a lot of feelings mixed in that album, so contact me at michelkstro@gmail.com

A Classic Collection.......2003-09-12

When I first heard Los Hermanos Castro in the 60's, I became an instant fan. They appeared in Las Vegas, released at least 2 albums and performed on many television programs. During the 70's, they decided to concentrate their talents in the latin countries and their native Mexico. This was a loss to fans in the USA. Now, I can enjoy some of their best work with this collection. Los Hermanos Castro are the latin Hi Lo's and Four Freshmen. They exhibit great harmony, range, power and emotion. Listeners don't have to understand the spanish language to appreciate their greatness. Now if someone could only reissue their American releases. I would be the first to click on to place an order.

Who can't love the Castros...............2003-05-31

They were a hidden group of the '60's.... A lounge group
in Vegas.... but they were better than that, and I have
always loved them... I don't know exactly why---except,
perhaps, that their music has always been, to me, the
ultimate in romanatasizmo.(sp?)(As Arturo may have coined the term...)
My late husband bought their records for me: the phonograph is dead and gone, and now I welcome this CD!

Perdiendo La Razon: While most of the music of The Brothers Castro, was number one in Latiamerica in the 60's and 70's, the song "Perdiendo La Razón -Going Mad for You, was a major hit also in the United States and Europe. In the U.S. the song was translated and interpreted by Gary Puckett, Sinatra, Sammy, Dean, Perry, Tom Jones, Engelbert and many others, but curiosly the favorite fon english speakers was the original version in spanish, which reached the NUMBER ONE in the U.S. listings, situation only shared by Mocedades' "Eres Tu" and Julio Iglesias' "Hey". I recall The Brothers Castro recorded the same song in english, but sadly that version is gone. Curioslly, some of The Castro's members spoke only english, so in some of the songs -even in Perdiendo la razon, you can listen the english accent. If you enjoys spanish romantic music just that song -translated also to French, Japanese, German, Italian and Portuguese,is an excuse to get this wonderful CD. Romantic, harmonious, delightful...a picture of those wonder years -late sixties, this music was used as sountrack in many movies, but it is essentially A TRUE ROMANTIC!
