Jesse Marroquin Y Calidad Are Hot!!!!!!!!.......2006-05-28

"Te Hecho De Menos" debuted in 1997 under the Freddie Records label. Jesse Marroquin hails from Benavides,Tx and was 22 years old when this cd came out and he and his bandmates had just been together since July of 1997. It really doesn't matter that the band was together for so short a time because the music is great and speaks for itself. Jesse penned 7 of the 10 songs on this amazing cd, and is a wonderful singer and song writer. The songs "Te Hecho De Menos", "Te Quiero" and "Sabe Que La Quiero" were hit singles. Jesse Y Calidad were also on the show Tejano Country Network and in their Studio TC did a video spot for the song "Sabe Que La Quiero", and it was cool to see him and the band performing that song and of course his beautiful backup singer Sonja was in it, all dressed up in silver. My personal favorites are "Sabe Que La Quiero", that song got me hooked and it shows Jesse at his best, you can dance to your sweetheart with that song. The song "Te Hecho De Menos" is of course so lovely to listen to it's about feeling hollow without that special love in your life. Another song that is great is "Amor, Amor", Jesse sings it with perfection and the song arrangement is very upbeat. The song "Me He Enamorado" is a beautiful song about being in love with someone who no longer loves you and Jesse does a great performance of making you feel the agonizing pain of it. The accordion will draw you in first thing when you listen to "Pesadillas De Amor" and Jesse wraps you up in the song of that special person in your life who gives you what no other person can. It's another very lovely song to listen to. I would higly recommend this cd to anyone, it's got some great music and this is Tejano music at it's best. Jesse Marroquin Y Calidad, YOU ROCK!!!!!

His final Fania album was a near-masterpiece........2003-11-01

"Calidad" was the legendary Adalberto Santiago's final Fania release. Strong tracks include "Debut Y Despedida" , the bolero medley "Medley: Volver" and the absolutely hilarious "Si Tu No La Otra". Unfortunately, this CD's sound quality leaves much to be desired--as such, I can't give it a 5-star rating. Santiago himself IS sounding great throughout the whole album and (as such) I still recommend it strongly to all salseros.

difference engine's "calidad" is an enjoyable alternative album without all the loud, blaring, in-your-face distortion pedals and screaming vocals. The vocals are quiet and understated yet affective, and the arrangements are very good. Good work, difference engine!

Still waiting impatiently for this one........1998-09-25

When I heard this album on the Bedazzled Records website, I couldn't stand the thought of waiting to hear it in my car or at home over dinner. A band of a dying breed that produces quality pop music with a subtle darkness invading every enchanting verse. Dreamy is a played-out and limiting reference for music of this ilk, yet it almost fits if you deny the term's ethereal context. It'll be worth the wait once it's in my hands, or yours.
