Just as good as its predecessors on Fania........2007-01-16

Released in 1985, "Mas Sabroso" was Adalberto's second post-Fania album. His venerable improvisational skills and phrasing are truly remarkable and he's definitely on top of his game. Only "Cumbia Colombiana" sounds somewhat out of place with the other seven tracks. Regardless of which label he's signed to, Adalberto Santiago always turn in great performances.

Adalberto's superb second solo album........2006-09-14

This 1979 release was Adalberto's second solo album and remains a very satisfying one to this day. The head-on, no-holds-barred "Ay Caray" remains a prime example of glorious '70s Salsa at its best while the bomba "P.R. Brindo Por Ti" and the son montuno "La Tierra Da" show thesinger's versatility and dexterity very splendidly. The boleros "Fuego De Amor" and the medleys "Mucho Corazon/Enferma Del Alma" and "Te Lo Dije/Mio Es Tu Amor" prove that Adalberto is also a great bolero singer and crooner. Louie Ramirez provided Adalberto with some great material here and...this CD is a must for your music library.

"Calidad" was the legendary Adalberto Santiago's final Fania release. Strong tracks include "Debut Y Despedida" , the bolero medley "Medley: Volver" and the absolutely hilarious "Si Tu No La Otra". Unfortunately, this CD's sound quality leaves much to be desired--as such, I can't give it a 5-star rating. Santiago himself IS sounding great throughout the whole album and (as such) I still recommend it strongly to all salseros.

The legendary sonero Adalberto Santiago seemed to get better and better with each new recording he made during the 1970s. Wether he was with Ray Barretto, Tipica 73 or Los Kimbos he was simply phenomenal. This classic 1977 release includes the hits "Probando", "El Mismo" and "Yo Se Que Un Dia". Everything from son montuno to merengue to bolero to smokin' SALSA DURA is included here and this band's musicians' playing is simply superb. Don't miss out on this one!

This 1974 release was this legendary band's second album and it featured the hits "A Mi Que", "Amalia Batista" and "Asi No Se Quiere A Nadie". Adalberto Santiago's rich and melodious voice compliments the musicians' inspired and fiery playing perfectly. If you don't yet have this CD you really need to buy it now.

This 1981-issued set was Adalberto's fourth solo album. It stands in a class by itself because the great producer/arranger Javier Vazquez teamed Adalberto up with quite a few former members of the legendary Sonora Matancera and the result was a great Tipico release in which Adalberto revisits classic Cuban music's glory days. "No Me Perturbes" and "Sarandonga" are your reasons for buying this CD.
