This is a very good album without any doubt but i'm sure this is not her best album...ok, "Soy yo" is very pop, is clubby, and fun, but i feel is not good enough...some tracks like "Socorro" makes me feel paranoic,"En tus brazos" "Sigo Intentando" and "No Te quiero Más" are slows ballads not so bad,
"Como un ángel" is maybe the best and "Noche Tras Día" is the only one that i think is perfect. Anyway still is a good album.
She did a good job, but actually she could do it better. And you know it.

Does this woman like to take her time to release albums or what? Whatever the time she takes, it's always worth it, and SOY YO is not the exception even though this is one of my least favorites albums from her.

1. Sigo Intentando: This was the first single off this album, AND the first time a song complitly written by Marta Sanchez herself to be released as a single.
It's a very good ballad, and her voice flawless as always.

2. Soy Yo: The second single off this album, very pop, clubby, dancey song. The remixes are GREAT (not included here).

3. En Tus Brazos: A very slow ballad, I usually skip it.

4. Amor Cobarde: This was the fourth and last single off this album. Very nice ballad.

5. Noche Tras Dia: Mid-tempo song, catchy, very good song.

6. Como Un Angel: Another ballad, but very good one.

7. Socorro: This was going to be released as the fifth single but for some reasen they decided not to release it. It's a great mid-tempo song, I'm still surprised they didn't release it as a single.

8. Encontrandote: This is such a nice ballad, I love it.

9. Su Crees En Mi: I wish this song would've been released as a single. Very good song, it starts off slow than it starts getting faster, pure pop, it's great.

10. No Te Quiero Mas: This was the third single, very beautiful ballad, just piano and her voice, sounds amazing. (remixes were released with the single as well)

11. Secretos: Another ballad, I usually skip it too.

12. Tal Vez Fuiste Tu: This is such a good mid-tempo song, the lyrics are great.

13. El pais De Nunca Jamas: I love this ballad, and in this song you can really appreciate Marta's voice. Definitely one of her best songs.

MARTA HAS PROVED TO BE ONE OF SPAIN'S BEST SINGERS.......2003-04-13

My Wife and I are fans of Marta's songs long since her very first solo album "Mujer", and we've bought every single album she's released since...I even liked her singing back when she was the lead singer of the spanish group "Olé-Olé", scoring such hits as "Lilí Marlen" and the groovy "Bailando sin Salir de Casa".

Since "Mujer", Marta has been in a constant process of evolution, turning into one the best female spanish interpreters, her voice becoming richer (even sometimes sounding like a female black singer), and her way of delivering a song, becoming increasingly more heart-felt with each passing year, in a sort of maturing process...especially in her ballads.

What one regrets, is that sometimes the fact that she is such a sensual and attractive woman, comes in the way of some critics' comments, who tend to dismiss her long proved talent because of that aspect of her persona, rather than giving full attention to her great artistry.

Fortunately, over the years, since "Mujer", this has changed.....Marta has come a long way overcoming the handicap every beautiful woman has to, when they're beautiful and talented....to demonstrate her worth....It has happened to many artists in may different areas of art: Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer, et al. A woman's talent shouldn't be dismissed because of her looks, it's just unfair.

This album is one of her best definitely, with such powerhouse ballads as "Sigo Intentando" (I Keep Trying), "Amor Cobarde" (Cowardly Love), "En Tus Brazos" (In Your Arms) and "No Te Quiero Más" (I Don't want You Anymore), most of them released as singles in Spain......plus the very danceable Title song "Soy Yo" (I Am) (also released as a single).....and the wondrous and powerful mid-tempo "Socorro" (SOS)(which deserves becoming the album's fifth single).

This album is a winner, buy it!

Soulful and thrilling.......2003-02-17

I've been a fan of Marta Sanchez ever since I heard "Mujer" and "Woman" (which are basically the same album). And I haven't been disappointed in her newest album, the fantastic "Soy Yo," which showcases the colorful Latin music and Marta's thrilling voice.

As in her prior albums, "Soy Yo" includes a variety of different songs, most of them very danceable. Even the ballads bring a waltz to mind. There is the dreamy, soaring "Sigo Intentando," the delightfully wild title track, the beautiful guitar-ballad "En Tus Brazos," funky "Noche Tras Dia," the dreamy and intimate "Como Un Angel," the wonderfully electronic-blasting "Socorro," the plaintive piano-accentuated "No Te Quiero Mas," and several others.

It's a shame that Marta is not as well known in the US as the relatively inferior Spanish-singing artists that often hit the top of the charts. She certainly deserves to be; her voice is rich, smooth and throaty, and on the soaring notes I was getting chills. Unlike many artists, she does ballads and dance tracks with equal skill, and her voice is never overwhelmed by the music. And "Soy Yo" is one of those fantastic albums that will never disappoint.

BUSTAMANTE ROCKS!!!,...........2005-06-25

what a nice surpise i had when i heard this cd..." SI PUDIERA CAMINAR SIN TI" "SAL y ARENA" " REZARÍA " and " NOS SORPRENDIÓ EL AMOR" in fact, the entire album is great...But still i don't feel really good about his tropical tracks like "Así Soy Yo" and "Ni una Lágrima Más". But Bustamante's voice make to listen this dumb song worth it...So go and Buy it. I'm happy to include this one to my collection.

Excellent second album.......2004-05-19

Though I loved Bustamante's first album, this second one is even better. The quality is much higher and you get a greater appreciation for his voice and how much it's grown. I must admit that Producer Emilio Estefan did an excellent job with this CD! It has a very Latin style with a good mix between dance songs and slow songs. Some of the best composers collaborated in this album and David himself even tried his hand at writing with the song "Tu y Yo." David has a lot of talent and if you like Spanish pop then I definitely recommend this CD.

Una palabra: WOW.......2004-04-27

This CD was a pleasant surprise. I liked his first CD, primariliy the special edition with "Perdoname". But David's voice just absolutely soars on this fantastic album. In some ways I miss the absolutely "danceability" of "No Soy Superman" and "El Aire Que Me Das". But he still has some great energetic songs like "Ni Una Lagrima Mas" and "Colgado" and "Bang, Bang". And his ballads are far superior to "Ademas de ti" and "Cuando Hacemos El Amor". My favorite ballads are "Si Pudiera Caminar Sin Ti", "Devuelveme El Aire", "No Se Vivor Sin Ti", and "Nos Sorprendio El Amor".

The more and more I listen to this CD the more it sounds like a cross between the pure pop/dance sound of Bisbal and the pop/rock sound of Sanz. Busta has a versatile voice with a great range. He may not have the rich tones of Bisbal or Fonsi, but he's got voice.

MUST HAVE Salsa CD.......2005-10-09

This CD is incredible. When I first heard Mala Vida and Salsa Rai, it was a revelation. It's not often you hear something completely new in salsa, but this CD is like a rare delicacy that contains flavors and tastes that you just cannot find anywhere else. Beginners will probably be LOST listening to some of the complex layers and rhythms contained herein, but the true salsa connoisseur is going to eat this alive. Do not miss!

One of my favourite Salsa movies.
Yuri's music video of the song Salsa contains mostly shots of this movie.
It is a shame the French movie "Salsa" is not available in the USA.

This is probably one of the best starting salsa cds I own. IT starts out SALSA, SALSA !!! and it just makes you want to get up and dance. On a couple of tracks his voice sounds like the legenday Hector lavoe. This is a fun cd. It has its slow songs and its fast ones, it has a nice flow. It has many different types of tropical music it has bolero, latin jazz and of course SALSA!!!Have you ever heard an arab sing slasa? Well on one track you can hear it..and it sounds smooth.

Cuban, Rhythmic and Hot!.......2002-09-17

Maria Victoria's talent comes through in this CD. She is exhuberant, flashy and sings her Cuban Sons with incredibly entertaining gusto. From originals to classics, this is a very danceable CD. The production leaves something to be desired, you feel her backup should be stronger. However, if you want an upbeat, good time latin CD, this one's for you.
