Customer Reviews:
A Nice Surprise.......2005-03-04
I "discovered" this band while studying abroad in Spain. I noticed everyone was wearing shirts from these guys after they visited Granada. I'd not bothered to go see the show since I didn't know who they were, which was a huge mistake. It was obvious that after they left, they left behind enough merch to make their presence known in Granada. So this album was on sale at El Corte Ingles, and I decided what the hell.
Of the 10 or so localish albums (and bootlegs) I picked up while in Spain, this is one of only three I still listen to back in the States, and this is the only one that's in Spanish. Every song is worth listening to, certianly some more than others like with all albums. It is a hard rock album/metal album, and not for everyone, but it ranks with any American/British band in the same genre. I told people they're like Judas Priest in Spanish, but that's because I'm not really familiar with this genre of music as a whole. "Sol de Invierno" and "So Payaso" are great power ballads, "Extremadura" is just fun after that weird intro, and well, it's all good.
Plus, it's nice to keep up with my limited Spanish skills back in the States. Plus, it's certianly a nice change from the typical Spanish imports we get (not everyone needs a flamenco guitar in Spain).
