Album Description
Mexico was not only swayed by the dizziness of the European waltz, but in the late 19th Century Mexicans also enjoyed the plentiful music of native composers. The Mexican waltz is much more than a simple "contagion". It has accents of its own; it is the answer to a particular taste. We consider the waltz a sort of bridge between what is called "Classical Music" and popular music. This recording consists, on one hand, of walzer for piano, on the other, of waltzes that never were "written", literary speaking. Instead, the authors gave the performer the liberty of associating instuments and improvising the harmony, like in jass. It is the case, for example, of Olympica, Duda and Morir por tu Amor, of which Miguel Garcia Mora offers us a very personal version developed with the valuable colaboration of the composer Eduardo Hernandez Moncada.Latin Music:
