Apparently there's nothing in Kabbalah that disallows sweaty, head-spinningly good dance music, because here comes a flame-haired Madonna hawking a dozen songs' worth: Confessions on a Dance Floor darts seamlessly from Madge's early days, when she emerged as the genre's enduring darling, through the political, kiddie, and acoustic pap that drove a wedge between her and early adopters of the fingerless glove look. Songs like the pop-leaning "Jump" and first single "Hung Up"--an adrenaline drip on high that, like many of these tracks, will inspire mild shame among those who've thrilled to the much thinner disco-dusted outpourings of younger divas recently--represent both a return to form and an unmistakable march into the future. "Get Together" is a sonic freak-out in the best sense; "Push" traffics in gut-level futuristic trance; and "Forbidden Love" loops in '80s blips and bleeps for a follow-me-into-the-past effect that's both neo and retro. For all the image-affirming innovations here, though, these confessions find Madonna framed in her share of reflective moments too. "Was it all worth it/How did I earn it?" she asks on "How High," a song featuring vocoder. "Nobody's perfect/I guess I deserve it," comes the answer. A later lyrical inquiry is left for the listener to judge: "Does this get any better?" Madonna wants to know. But that opens the door to a dizzying proposition. Few of us would have guessed, after all, that it got this good. --Tammy La GorceAlbum Description
On Confessions of a Dance Floor, Madonna, the most popular and significant female artist in pop music, returns unapologetically to her roots. A stunning blend of musical styles with one foot in early disco and the other pointed toward the future, Confessions On A Dance Floor "is all about having a good time straight through and non-stop," says the Material Mom, who co-wrote and co-produced every track. For Madonna and music fans everywhere, the all-dance, no-ballad Confessions on a Dance Floor is a welcome guilty pleasure.Customer Reviews:

Today I consider Madonna to be among the greatest Legends in rock/or pop. She's right up there with Elvis and the Beatles, and she deserves her place among them. In many ways, her talent surpasses theirs (I probably be shot with that remark, but I truly believe it to be so).
As an artist Madonna has always been totally involved with every aspect of her own career, so the end results give you nearly 100% MADONNA, as opposed to other end results that are 50% artist/50% producer, if you understand my meaning here. Madonna not only wrote the majority of her songs, but she also co-produced them, and was totally involved with the making of each and every one of her songs ~ And with her enormous output during her 25-plus year career, there aren't too many unlikeable songs.
Confessions On A Dance Floor is no exception. It is another Madonna creation that takes us back to Madonna's earlier "dance" songs. It fits in perfectly with any of her other works. It's a great record. And, unlike most other artists who have aged 20-plus years since their hey-dey, Madonna's voice sounds as lush and beautiful as it ever did ~ She looks just as good, if not better, as well. Madonna definitely has aged well!
Although I was never into Madonna "the person" so much (as I was with some of the Eagles, and most definitely Stevie Nicks), I was, on the other hand, totally into Madonna's music. She has few peers when it comes to the quality and quantity of her professional output (excepting perhaps Elton John, Paul McCartney or Bob Dylan - But each of these artists had at least 15-20 years head start on her).
Madonna has earned, and most definitely deserves her place as the most successful female artist in history, and I cannot imagine her ever losing that title.
It's nice to see her career is still a work-in-progress. I pray we continue to hear more of Madonna in the coming years. Nothing she has put out yet has been disappointing. She definitely knows how to make great records!
Nice collection........2007-04-08

Album Description
Second full-length album (and third release overall) from this Alterna-Rock band fronted by actress Juliette Lewis. Since the release of their debut album, the Licks have established an unshakable presence as a live act, then their first stable line-up brought with it the chance to develop as a song writing unit. Writing as they toured, the band concentrated on capturing their stage energy to provide a definitive Licks sound for the next record. Unfortunately, the departure of their drummer at the end of the year left them drummerless. Luckily, the road had also seen their paths cross with someone who would play an instrumental role in the most important chapter of their career - Foo Fighters front man and former Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl. Originally brought in to play on demos the band recorded at his 606 Studio in California, Grohl extended his stay for the album. Features 10 tracks including the single 'Hot Kiss'. McFly:- Room On The 3rd Floor.......2005-08-22
FIVE COLOURS IN HER HAIR
The first single from the album. Reached #1 in the UK and stayed there for two weeks. In the Japanese charts, Five Colours reached #2! This is an awesome song, and should really be remembered as a great track. It is also their signature track, and should not be missed! (Not that anyone hasn't heard it already!!)
OBVIOUSLY
Second single released from the album, reached #1 in the UK, stayed at the top for a week. This is another brill effort from the lads, and I strongly recommend you check it out!
ROOM ON THE 3RD FLOOR
The title track is the fourth and final single from the album, and reached #5 in the UK. This is one of the very few songs on the album that is not about getting a girl, having a girl, or wanting a girl. One of the best on the album.
THAT GIRL
Third single from the album; #2 in UK. This is one of my faves on the album, definately top three. The song is really catchy, the lyrics are quite good, singing is topper, overall excellent song. The guitar solo (by Danny, I believe) is particularly enjoyable.
HYPNOTISED
This is nothing new: McFly fall in love, and then their g/f gives them a heave-ho. HOWEVER, this song is another catchy effort, and Tom's vocals are particularly great. Another stand-out track on the album, but then again, I have many.
SATURDAY NIGHT
Awesome. There's not much needs to be said about this song, apart from: the singing is great, so are the guitar solos, and the lyrics are rediculously, stupidly and un-intelligently great.
MET THIS GIRL
Another song that would be in my top three. This song is SOOOOOOOOOO catchy, I love it, and I don't really have anything else to say about it. The break-down in the middle is the best part!
SHE LEFT ME
If any of you lads out there have just been dumped by your g/f's, this song isn't actually going to help. However, it's one that you'd find at a smoochy, old school disco, and I love it. Probably the slowest song on the album.
DOWN BY THE LAKE
This song is very, very, very, very good, but if I had to choose a weakest song, this would get it! It's about a girl they like, and the girl likes them, but the girls' dad doesn't like McFly, and they make out down by the lake, and the girls' dad sees them...
UNSAID THINGS
This song was my fave song on the album, but due to songs like Five Colours, That Girl and Met This Girl, which I've been listening to alot more lately, it isn't my fave anymore! A girl used to go out with McFly when they were young, now she's married and has a "baaa-aaa-aaa-by" (yes, I said it right!).
SURFER BABE
Another brill song. It's catchy and great!
NOT ALONE
This is the second ballad on the album, the other being She Left Me. This song is one of the best on the album, and was written by Danny. He wrote it when he was 16, two years before McFly released Five Colours. Great!
BROCCOLI
This song is really weird, but it rocks! It's about a girl who was meant to be coming round for tea, and McFly cook for her, and then she doesn't come round anymore. Awwww, bless! Anyway, this song is also humurous, with lyrics like, "SHE DOESN'T KNOW THAT I'M A VIRGIN IN THE KITCHEN COZ IT'S NORMALLY MY MUM!" Great closure! This album also includes a hidden track, called Get Over You, and it's a pain to play. Rewind your player when Five Colours In Her Hair starts, and stop at about -1:55. This song also rules!
Since this album, McFly have released another two singles; both of which got the top spot. All About You was the first, which was recorded for Comic Relief, It stayed at the top for one week. The other is I'll Be OK, their new song, which charted at #1 last night! (Yes, you heard me correct - McFly knocked James Blunt off the top!!) Their new album Wonderland (hence my pen-name) is out on the 29th August - for god sake, buy it. Danny, Dougie, Tom and Harry make up the best pop band on the planet - and I literally mean it!

Here's something you didn't know about Van Hunt: Randy Jackson is his manager. Which says a lot about the "American Idol" judge's prime-time panning of pitchy would-be Stevie Wonders-- mainly, that he knows what he's talking about. If there is still a neo-soul show to be stolen, Van Hunt, for sure, has made off with it: This sophomore effort, with well-spaced nods to Prince, Curtis Mayfield, and the Isley Brothers, is way weightier than anything Maxwell or D'Angelo ever attempted and every bit as stylish maybe more so. But what's most surprising is the disc's depth. Van Hunt knows his way around a smooth seduction--look no further than track two, "If I Take You Home (Upon ...)," which earns an A in that category--but he also has a little something to contribute to the modern rock conversation (the Kravitz-esque "Ride, Ride, Ride"), and he won't duck associations with disco ("The Thrill of This Love"), either. Even '80s-revivalism, as demonstrated here by "At the End of a Slow Dance," doesn't prove too great a challenge. Tie it all up with a bow (or, this being Van Hunt, maybe an ascot) and you still get a solidly singular vision. That is the magic of Van Hunt and what makes him, in alt-soul circles, the man. --Tammy La GorceCustomer Reviews:
Excellent second album!.......2007-07-25
This talented singer/writer/producer has been producing solid work since he penned Dionne Farris's hit "Hopeless." Just like his much-overlooked first album, this one delivers and soulful mix of R&B, Rock and Funk. There are so many great tracks on this release, that there is something for everyone. Although Hunt mixes different musical styles, he still puts a cohesive stamp on it that makes them flow well together.
My favorite tracks are Priest or Police, Daredevil Baby, Being a Girl, At The End Of A Slow Dance, If I Take You Home, and Hot Stage Lights.
I can't wait for the new EP.
Not as great as the first. But it's OK........2007-05-31
But I do like Daredevil, Baby. I've had this CD since May 13th, 2006 and when I first heard it, I didn't know what to make of it, but a while later, I ended up liking the song. The production on No Sense of Crime is nice and playful, the lyrics, somewhat relatable. Mean Sleep is a decent song (though I can't compare to Lenny's because I've never heard it before) and Hot Stage Lights has a killer vibe during the chorus (or pre-chorus, I'm not sure :P). I can't get enough of it.
Another note that I must get through to you is that Van Hunt's lyrics have always been amongst the best and most descriptive (when he tries). See the intro to The Thrill Of This Love which has a slightly dreamy feel to it. It's not the greatest song otherwise, but it's decent. The album closes with The Night Is Young where Van Hunt struggles with the thought of where he is at the point of his life: getting older, reminiscing about the past, etc. It has a bit of a melancholy feel to it, but not overly so.
Things that could've been left off the album completely:
Ride, Ride, Ride and the intro as well as the interlude; the latter two are pretty much Van Hunt and some guy being as silly as possible. Not bad, but not necessary either.
Overall, there are about 4 songs that I enjoyed thoroughly (minus the intro and interlude).
If you want to get to know Van Hunt, I'd start with his far superior album, Van Hunt and then if he grabs you, get On The Jungle Floor. Be warned though, this album is much edgier, if that's your thing. To be honest though, I think this CD is a BORDERLINE sophomore slump. Fewer songs here grabbed me like they did with his self-titled album.
Final rating: 3.5 stars
Bye. ^_^
Great work!.......2007-05-19
Soulful.......2007-02-11
Most people are living their lives without any substance. This kind of music helps bring substance back into our lives without sacrificing any of your enjoyment.
As much as I enjoy this cd, I don't think it's as good as Van Hunt's self-titled first album. That probably has to do with the fact that he aligned himself with American Idol Randy Jackson to help produce this album.

Michael Jackson's Dance on The Blooded Floor: 2 stars.......2006-07-18
Blood On The Dancefloor is mainly to be regarded as an EP or a remix album, consisting of 5 ordinary songs and 8 remixes. The title track and the first single Blood On The Dancefloor is a funky up-tempo song with a fusion of keyboard and teasing synthesizers. Despite being released as the opening single, the song was hardly among Jackson's finest material. In fact, Blood On The Dancefloor even sounded dated in 1997 and it has certainly not aged very well. I always found that the song bore a resemblance to the Dangerous album in terms of sound. Perhaps the material on the Blood on the Dancefloor album was written for that particular album or during the same time period. However, the gruelling theme continues as the song Morphine reveals a character completely obsessed with the drug. The soft and hunting verses are a contrast to the sturdier choruses, yet surprisingly it works quite well. Superfly Sister is Michael Jackson's attempt to simulate Prince; however the repetitive, dull baseline is an unwelcome addition. Similar to the lead single, Superfly Sister suffers from the syndrome of ¨dated-ness¨. Ghosts and Is It Scary are enjoyable songs; however they are not among Jackson's greatest works. Notably, Is It Scary is a lovely track especially due to the shift between the soft verses and the tougher choruses. I considered it the best song among the 5 ordinary songs on the album. The remaining 8 songs/remixes are a Tour De Force of dance remixes. Generally, I do not like remixes, however the remix of 2 Bad, Scream-Louder and HIStory are not half-bad. Yet the remixes of the remaining songs leave a lot to be desired.
Blood On The Dancefloor is primarily an indulgence for hardcore Michael Jackson fans. The few ordinary songs are pleasant, however they are not on par with Michael Jackson's back-catalogue. If you like remixes in generally, I am positive the remixes on the album would surely appeal to you. If you have recently discovered Michael Jackson's music, I would advise you to purchase Number Ones or The Essential Michael Jackson in order to fully grasp the back-catalogue of Jackson.
Overall Grade: 4.0/10

THIS ALBUM DO NOT HAVE QUANTITY BUT THE THING IS THAT THIS HAS QUALITY ONLY ONE SINGLE--BOTDF IS SUFFICIENT TO MAKE THIS ALBUM WORTH A WHILE
GO GET THIS ALBUM AND BE PROUD TO HAVE SUCH COMPILATIONS
great!! .......2005-12-12
Well, the thing is that I don't like remixes but there is one that's definitely good. That's the remix of track 'HIStory'.
Now on to the new stuff. MJ really did well by choosing 5 new tracks because it convinced me that his every song is different and innovative.
BOTDF, as fans often call it, has the
title track on it: this is an echo-filled, strong, blood-red composition of dance with a bit of techno, soul and rock. This is unique if you believe me.
I enjoyed it through a whole summer when I watched
the video for it every day!
MJ proves that he is a good and.. an even better dancer. A real surprise. Even a friend of mine who is far from being an MJ-fan, told me that he finds MJ a better dancer than he'd done before.
SUPERFLY SISTER is a rap-like but still strangely soulful track with a catchy beat and a great 'east coast' feeling I like very much. It's got a message, listen up!
GHOSTS is a great r&b song that is solid, consistent and you can easily get hooked on the melody. The video is awesome, too. I bet!
IS IT SCARY: brother of the previous one. Jackson's best vocal achievement since 1995's 'Smile' and before 2001's 'Unbreakable'. An r&b-based song that grows to a pop hymn - without a hymnical feature.
MORPHINE: This is I think MJ's most unique song ever, quite the 'Musicology' for him. This is fully composed & ordered by him, he even plays the instruments.
The song mixes an acid and steely beat with innovative vocal elements of metal and even a Jackson-style rap. So a closed composition emerges.
I hated Morphine first. But now I see it as a kind of masterpiece.
OK. Don't buy it. It's mess.
But I bet you still do. Enjoy!

Finally, the U.S. sees a domestic release of Fatboy Slim's On the Floor at the Boutique, hands down one of the most thrilling, addictive DJ mix albums ever released. Recorded live in 1998 at the Big Beat Boutique (epicenter of the mid- to late-'90s big-beat movement), Norman Cook, a.k.a. Fatboy Slim, takes the listener on a fascinating, diverse tour of four-on-the-floor sounds. What's always made Cook so great is the way that he seamlessly blends seemingly incongruous sounds to create righteously cool, shiny new beats; he truly is the trainspotting vinyl freak with an uncanny talent for creating accessible dance-floor shakers built of weird components. Take track 4--who'd have thought a spry blue-beat ska sample, an ELO riff, phat beats, a few stray horn riffs, and a sped-up Jungle Brothers vocal track would be one of the coolest things heard all year? --Mike McGonigalCustomer Reviews:

This is such a excellent CD and Fighting Spirit is Great!.......2007-03-22
Hung Up: Great song which samples Gimme Gimme Gimme A Man after Midnight the 1979 hit my ABBA. There is one part in this song where it slows down and you can hear 80's sound more pronounced and you hear a clock ticking then going off with another alarm clock going off at the same time, very clever. It smoothly moves into the next song.
Get Together: The beginning sounds like Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper. She sings "Can we get together I really want to be with you" The songs gets a little fast toward the middle with again amazing 80's sounds blended in while she is singing. It ends the same way it beginns.
Sorry: She says Sorry in 5 different languages and you hear in the background "I heard it all before" repeated numerous times with each time it gets louder and she sings "I don't want to hear, I dont want to know, please dont say your sorry". She also sings "don't explain yourself cause talk is cheap" great words. Towards the end she sings forgive in a few different languages then in English. This is one of my favorite tracks and is supposed the second single.
Future Lovers: Very different sound from the whole album. This one was produced by Mirwais Ahmadzai who is credited for producing her Music and American Life album. She sings this songs in a very seductive voice and sings "would you like to try and come with me". She sings "give me evidence of this brilliance" referring to the love. This has a futuristic disco feel to it and the synthesizers they use do wonders for this song. This is also very dancebale track and one of my favorites and I hope it becomes a single too. This type of sound puts you in a trance. The music goes into I love New York and you can hear a little of Ray Of Light while blends into the next tune.
I Love New York: My favorite track. This is by far the most danceable track on this album. The beats are very intense and has a rock feel to it. This song is brilliant. The lyrics are funny. Madonna sings " I don't like cities but I like New York other places make me feel like a dork" At the end you hear cop sirens going off. She sings this song with an attitude and near the end she sings " get off of my street" several times, its just great!!
Let It Will Be: Oddly titled track beginns with the violin and is very similar to the beginning of Papa Don't Preach from the True Blue album. She sings about success and fame. The chorus part is great and I love this song.
Forbidden Love: This is the slowest track on the album but is not a ballad. This title can also be found on Madonna's Bedtime Stories Album but this one is a lot better. The vocoder is used and she sings "forbidden love are we supposed to be together" and then sings it without the vocoder. This song is also very emotional and sad. The ending ends with numbers being count backwards from 5 and during each one a love line is said. This is just a beautiful song. This songs slowly blends into Jump. The way is blends is is pure genious.
Jump: Starts extacly like the beginning of West End Girls by the Pet Shop Boys. This is just a fun song and she sings "Are you Ready to jump, just take my hand get ready to jump. When she sings these lines you seriously want to get up and jump. She also sings "I work and I fight till I find a place of my own" referring back to her early years in the 80's.
How High: The vocoder is used again and it has a robotic sound to it in the beginning. Madonna sings and questions her fame again as she did in Let It Will Be and sings" was it all worth it" and "should I carry on will it matter when I'm gone". This song has grown on me a lot and has a great beat to it. It was also produced by Mirwais and Bloodshy and Avant.
Issac: A masterpiece by itself. It starts of like similar to sounds you would hear in a lullaby story and then you hear a rabbi's chanting in the back. This song is obviously Kabbalah related. Madonna sings "wrestle with your darkness angels call your name can you hear what they are saying will you ever be the same" then you hear the chorus and the chanting again then she sings other versus and the chanting and the chorus follows through again. This songs usues quite a few sounds mixed in well expecially towards the end. There is a pounding sound an a few times near the end it's amazing then the chorus. It ends with a man talking.I find this song brilliant and hope it becomes a single. This track is the longest track a little more than 6 minutes, its brilliant though.
Push: Another genious pop blend from Issac. This song has a good hip hop feeling to it and if you listen to it it does have a little rap in it. Madonna sings "You push me" then in a hip hop rap fashion sings" to go the extra mile" and "when it's difficult to smile". This song she sings to her husband Guy Ritchie. The chorus is the best part and has such a happy feeling to it and is similar to "Don't Tell Me" from her Music Album.
Like It Or Not: A nice song to end this brilliant album. She sings "this is who I am you can like it or not you can love me or leave cause I'm never gonna stop". This song is mid tempo and not really fast. It ends beautifully with the guitars. Overall I give this album an A+. I dont skip any song. I would highly recommend it if you really want to dance hard!! Also don't forget to check out Madonna's American Life album a very underrated album indeed!
Fighting Spirit: On my god, I love this song so much. It has a good message "don't let it get you down" telling people dont ever let things get you down it is a mid tempo song with excellent use of the electronica sound. It would be worth getting this CD just for that song you have got to hear it it's simply amazing.
This Special Edition also includes a pretty journal book which has Madonna's own writing in it from the song Like It Or Not, each part of it is a lyric from that song and is written at the bottom of each page and a few animations are drawn referring back to the song LION ( listen to the song and you will understand what I mean), the rest of the journal is blank so you can write your own confessions, a nice picture book from the COAD period where she also writes her own confessions which is not from any of the songs on COAD or anyone other song at all that she has written, and it gives us the definitions of what the word confession means and a one month trial membership to ICON which I think is great. You can see if you are really interested or if it's worth subscribing to just for a trial period. Overall great package. Fighting Spirit of course is another reason you should buy it because it is not included in the original COAD and as mentioned it is so good and it will help you out especially the lyrics in it if you are feeling down, had a bad day, or just feeling under the weather lately.
A Different Kind of Madonna.......2007-03-12
I have listened to this CD repeatedly and each time, the constant electronic groove is entrancing. The music by itself is worth a 5-star rating but some of the lyrics seem to possess a mundane prose. I mean, I wonder if Madonna actually sang these lyrics from "I Love New York" with a straight face:
"I don't like cities but I like New York.
Other places make me feel like a dork".
I know I laughed when I first heard it. In the end, it's all good, though.
I rated this CD at 4.5 stars. The packaging/blank notepad-type booklet that came with the Special Edition didn't seem necessary, because it's really about the music.
My wife is a die-hard Madonna fan and she loves this!.......2007-03-09

Album Description
Dakini Lounge marks Indo-Jazz innovator Prem Joshua's first encounter with DJ science. Here, an eclectic collection of cutting edge mixologists including Karsh Kale, Sean Dinsmore (The Dum Dum Project), Joi and Dharma Dogz (of Waterbone) shed new light on Joshua's signature sound, translating his East-West alchemies into stunning dub, chill and dance floor masterworks.Prem Joshua has come a long way from the 18-year-old German rocker, mind blown by a Ravi Shankar performance, answering a mysterious call from a faraway place. While spending the better part of 20 years in India (where he has sold well over 50,000 records), Joshua has developed a unique musical style employing sitar, Indian flutes, saxophone, electronica and tarana-style singing that artfullyand skillfullybridges the gap between traditional Eastern sounds and Western jazz forms, prompting the Times of India to dub him "the new guru of East-West fusion music."
Dakini Lounge marks the next logical progression in Prem Joshua's storied career. Placing the master musician's songs in the able hands of these modern day studio mavens presents new interpretations and directions for the many listeners already in love with Prem Joshua's music while introducing him to an ever wider audience.
