This is a fabulous CD........2006-05-02

Sui Generis' music is the soundtrack of my teenage years. I love their music and their lyrics, and I love the fact that, in spite of how old these songs are, they still hit me, I still feel identified with them, and they are still fabulous.

This is not a cd for everybody. Sui Generis' music is very 70s, with some influence of The Beatles going on there, some of their songs might seem childish (Like "Necesito", for instance) but it's all about the meaning they have, so you might need to be familiar with the social and political context in which most of these songs where created in order to fully appreciate them.

If you've heard Sui Generis before and are looking for something that summarizes their three albums--Vida,Confesiones de Invierno, and Instituciones-then this is a very good option to go for.

If you like Rock en Español you should have this CD. Charly Garcia at his best and Nito Mestre unforgeteable performances just to name a few.

Sumo, the South American Wonder.......2005-08-02

Sumo covers several different types of music. A true rock revolutionary who never broke into international stardom, for one reason or another. The music is truly fantastic though, covering jazz, rock, 80's rock, reggae, and several other music genre. If you're looking for some fantastic tunes, please check out this artist. I am a humongous Sumo fan, as are millions of Argentinians. It has been more than 10 years since his death, yet I still see tattoos on loads of loyal fans in Argentina. Some songs are entirely in Spanish, but most are English.

UN TORNADO QUE ARRASO A TU CIUDAD..........2005-03-09

Tuvo que venir un pelado loco y carismatico a la Argentina para enamorarse mas que nadie de Buenos Aires, de donde el no era(era italiano).Era un tipo hecho trizas por la heroina, las anfetas y el acido y aterrizo en Argentina para dejar su adiccion a la heroina, pero en donde se hizo adicto al alcohol que a la larga es peor.Conocio a un "tal" German Daffunchio(que despues de Sumo formo Las Pelotas con Alejandro Sokol,otro integrante de Sumo y con el cual logran mantener el legado, cosa que los Divididos no) y le deslumbro con su CARISMA.Luego puso un aviso en unos clasificados en donde invitaba a cualquiera que quiera tocar con un tipo con experiencia con drogas duras lo podia hacer llamando a un numero.De mas esta decir, todo lo que paso despues y a lo que Sumo llego a ser.Luca...que dios te tenga en su gloria.

This a wonderful 2 cd set comprising the almost complete discography of the best of latin america-s power-punk rock band.It even features some non-album tracks and songs from ep's and member's solo album cuts,all beatifully remastered,as if that were necessary-though always welcome-since all of their records have the nicest of sounds on the original editions.
