This is a great cd by los enanitos. "tus viejas cartas" is done very well in this accoustic cd. Every song is done with precision unlike so many other group's accoustic/live cd's. Enanitos really pulled it together on this one.

Los Enanitos Verdes has once again proven that they are one of the few spanish rock bands that are true musicans. With each album they have demonstrated their ability to produce music that rocks. In this album you get to listen to them live. Maricano's way of singing and Felipe's way of playing guitar and Daniel's way of playing drums just takes you into a whole different world. All the songs are awesome. You cant go wrong if you buy this cd. If you have the opportunity to go see them play i strongly recommend that you go...believe me...its worth the money. Que viva el rock...Los Enanos!!!!

I'm not a huge enanitos fan, but this an excellent recording that surpassed my expectations! My fave "te vi en un tren" sounds even better on this than the original. Also "fiesta jurasica" is a new (non acoustic)tune they put on here that is groovy. If you like mid tempo pop-rock then give this one a try!

Muchos de los exitos mas grandes de los Enanos estan incluidos en este CD que nos corta hasta la respiracion. Si les encanta el rock en espa~nol, deben comprar este disco; y si les encanta la buena musica, tambien deben comprarlo! Canciones como Guitarras Blancas, Te vi en un tren, la muralla verde, y tus viejas cartas toman nueva vida y nos invitan a recorrer la memoria. Los Enanos son un grupo con mucho talento y merecen el amor y respeto de todos los fans que tienen por todo el mundo. Stumbled Across Song.......2004-01-13

I heard an awesome acoustic version of the Genesis song "Follow You, Follow Me" and found out it was this Brazilian singer Emerson Nogueira. I hopped on Amazon and bought the CD immediately. His acoustic guitar performance rocks and the Brazilian accent adds a romantic flavor to these American rock songs. He sings in english so no worries about not understanding the words. His guitar work on the Doobie Brothers' - Long Train Runnin' is exceptional. You just have to hear their version of Rush's "Tom Sawyer" to believe it. It cracked me up when I heard their accents imitating Geddy Lee's voice. All in all, it's a great CD, perfect for throwing in the CD player and going about the business of the day. I can't stop listening to it.

Good Choice.......2003-07-23

This is a guy that plays in bars in Minas Gerais, mainly in Belo Horizonte and Juiz de Fora and he plays only famous international songs. This is a good selection of music played by a talented guy. I highly recomend his 2nd CD and on July/26th 2003 his s going to release his double CD Live... Pay attention and don't miss it.

Zé is fantastic!.......2003-06-21

Zé Ramalho is one of the greatest singers/songwriters in Brazil. He style tends to mix regional influences from the Brazilian northeast with blues, rock and folk music (especially Bob Dylan - check out his version of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"!). This album was made in order to celebrate his 20 aniversary as a singer. He teamed with Robertinho do Recife (another great Brazilian musician) to review his most important and interesting songs in acoustic versions. It could not be better - some songs are breathtaking like "Avohai" (with indians citars!!), "Chão de Giz", "Frevo Mulher" and "Admirável Gado Novo". Great buy, do not hesitate!

Beautiful & Melodic.......2004-09-06

This was the first of Sergio Lara's music that I've listened to and it won't be the last. It shows passion, beauty, and a sense of medody that is just wonderful. People who enjoy the acoustic side of John McLaughlin and Al DiMeola would love this cd.

I just can't decide if I should stop playing guitar altogether (because I'll never play this well and with this much fire, or keep working at it to try to come close.

New release from a guitar master........2004-09-03

Ever since I first heard the latin rhythms and exotic melodies of Sergio Lara's music in the Lara & Reyes duo I was hooked. Fans of Lara & Reyes will love Con La Lluvia, Mr Lara's new solo release. It has a wide range of appeal that won't dissapoint guitar fans hungry for a showcase from a master. It retains the strongly rooted latin influence but it also contains some new direction. My favorite pieces are Short Visit and Makada. Short Visit is a beautiful piece with a wonderful melody, reminiscent of some of John McLaughlin's acoustic work from the Belo Horizonte era. Makada is a powerful latin influenced piece that keeps you at the edge of your seat and wanting more. It's a great CD from a master of the guitar.

Con La Lluvia is a release by one supreme guitarist.
From start to finish the entire release holds your attention. There are a variety of musical styles displayed which only adds to the overall sound of this project. Sergio Lara is one heck of a guitarist, in fact I would dare to call him "Guitarist Supreme"
If you Love guitar music you'll Love Sergio Lara. I for one am Very happy I own a copy.

Still Raining -- Still Dreaming.......2004-07-13

Sergio Lara's latest offering, Con la Lluvia (With the Rain), displays his broad-ranging compositional skills as well as his instrumental viruosity. Sergio's trademark solos ride the crest of driving Afro-Latin rythms on such passionate and melodic tunes as Short Visit and Mikada. But the album also expresses more sensitive moods as it taps many music genres. The meloncholy traditional Llorona, for example, is a good counterpoint to the generally upbeat nature of this collection. The signature track on the album, the title cut, merges Sergio's Latin roots with Indian and Middle Eastern influences, in a fusion that is reminiscent of psychedelic rock. George Harrison (Rubber Soul), Ravi Shankar and even Jimi Hendrix Hendrix (Electric Ladyland) came to mind as I slipped, still raining -- still dreaming, in to its extended ambience. A great mix of new world music. Highly recommended.
