      5 out of 5 stars Great Songs On This CD Give It Five Stars.......2006-06-11

      This album deserves five stars from jump because it has THE live version of 'Stand' that showcases Donnie McClurkin in all his unattainable (for me, anyway) glory that most singers (including me) aspire to but cannot reach. Donnie is at his best when given the opportunity to expound without boundaries, as he is at his ad-libbing best on this version that somebody had the wisdom to just leave the tape machine running on. This version of 'Stand' also features a little bit of Marvin Winans at the end, and it is really reason enough to buy the whole project (as I did in 1996). Out of the other twelve tracks, you will find eight that you won't be tempted to skip over, as track 6 ('Totally Dependent On You') and tracks 8 through 10 ('Why Did He Love Me,' 'I Am The One,' and 'That's All There Is') either suffer from poor choir singing or are just flat out boring. 'Totally Dependent...' suffers from what seems to be too many words in the chorus, as the choir seems to lag behind the music a little, which makes the song a chore to listen to. 'Why Did He Love Me' is kind of boring. 'I Am The One' seems, much like 'Totally...,' as a little more than the choir could digest. I don't even remember 'That's All There Is,' so that's how much I didn't like it. While the first two tracks ('I Just Wanna Please Jesus' and 'All In Your Name') are OK, the album really doesn't start cooking until 'Don't Let Go,' which is a song of good quality, but not one of the best on this album. 'I'll Go,' a CeCe Winans song, is easily one of the three best on the album, and 'I Can Hardly Wait' is serviceable and enjoyable. 'But God' is also easily one of the three best and, if 'Stand' wasn't such a song of mythical proportions and quality, would probably beat out 'I'll Go' as the best on this album, although a really strong case could be made for each. 'You May Have Heard It Before' and 'Everything God Has Promised He Will Do,' both quality offerings that were done well (although I still can't tell you most of what the choir says in 'Everything God Has Promised...' and that song's words aren't listed in the CD along with the other ones, which I absolutely HATE), round out this album. In retrospect, this album was one of my favorites of all time, but the fact that there are songs on the CD that I skip over has cooled my enthusiasm for it over the years. This is an album that has parts that are greater than the sum, but the three great ones end up making this album a much better listen than most.

      Totally uplifting and spirit filled. Ron Winans put together awesome talent of family & friends to give the most blessed performances of all time... From the first song sung by Ron Winans to the last song sung by younger brother Marvin Winans you truly feel GOD's annoiting. My favorites are I'll Go sung by CeCe Winans & But GOD sung by BeBe... Where's volume V???

      The album is overall a phenomenal piece of art. I am impressed with the lead vocalist. His previous work is also superb. The album initially states that the artist simply wants to please Jesus, almost as if it's a response to critics about the nature of his music. But God, performed by brother BeBe, is a song of innocence that we have been drug users, child abusers but because of God's mercy we have been made free. The music reflects a mellow inspiration that depicts the nature of the artist.

      The greatest gospel recording of all time is on this album. "Stand", performed by Donnie McClurkin and Marvin Winans is a classic. Originally done on his self titled album (Donnie McClurkin), Stand delivers the emotion and conviction that every believer who has gone through trials and tribulation will come to receive. The orcherstration is superbly done and McClurkin's vocals are soul-searching and moving. The background choir sing their hearts out and the overall production of this song is a masterpiece. Even if you don't like the entire album, I would recommend buying it just because of Stand. Once you buy it, you will be able to "Stand."

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME HEARING THIS CD AND I WANT TO SAY THAT THIS PARTICULAR SONG HAS MINISTER TO ME IN SUCH AS WAY, I THANK GOD FOR RON WINANS , AND I PRAY THAT HE WILL KEEP HIS EYES EVER BEFOR GOD AND TRUST IN HIS NAME!

      [...] Songs are full length, satisfying and awesome in arrangement and orchestration. The best is probably still to come, since the P&W compositions are constantly moving to higher levels; check out such titles on America's Choice 30 as "Blessed Be Your Name" and "Now Is The Time To Worship." Don Marsh's on-track/point/ and in-synch "savvy music manager" abilities have helped me move my P&W experiences from Sunday morning to 24/7 via my car and home CD players. Don, give us more and more of this soul food.

      I love praise music. I've listened to many of these same songs by other artists over the years. The problem with this CD is that most of the songs are way too short. Some of the versions on this CD only have one verse when the original has several more. I'd pass over buying the CD. Sure, it has 25 songs. But they're sooooo short.
