I think this is one of the best PDAs........2007-05-12

I've marked 5 stars, because the PDA has a large screen, a large memory, a synthesizer chip, stereo speakers, 2 SD cards slots and an analogue controller. This strongly-built electronic organizer has a great abilites in variety of field --- multimedia playing, business and scientific calculation etc ---.

Good but far from perfect........2007-05-06

Pros> Good Screen size and resolution. Decent processing power. Analog Stick, Thin and light, Intuitive custom interface based on palm os5.
Cons> Battery life not as good as expected (considering it has dual LiIon batteries) you can get about 4 hours of audio playback with screen off, around 2 hour and a half playing or watching videos and around 7 hours reading ebooks (not continuously). When charge gets to around 20% it will disable SD slots to preserve energy. Some buttons are hard to press. Manufacturer went out of business so there is no official support (you can find a lot of resources online). Stylus seems likelly to get lost.
Overall, a good powerfull palm pda. What would have made it 5 stars? Well, longer batt life *even if it adds up some weight and bulk*, More game titles, Better stylus placement and maybe some rubber handles for better grip.

Zodiac2 is good BUT...........2006-07-05

The Zodiac2 is a good option for a palm/handheld. The fact of the matter is that many want the Zodiac2 simply for its capability to play games, or even backup games. Zodiac2 is great for this keeping in mind it will only be able to handle lower level systems eg. 16bit. If the buyer is truely interested in just the gaming aspect of this product, there are better choices out there such as the gp2x (google it). On the other hand, gp2x doesn't have websurfing capabilities which I believe the Zodiac2 does. Before purchasing this product, just keep in mind what you really want it for. Finally, the future of Tapwave is looking grim, so your warrenty and support might soon mean diddly.

Cool System -- Buyer Beware.......2005-07-29

The Tapwave Zodiac is one of the most versatile handhelds that runs the Palm OS. It features a large, easy-to-see screen, two SD slots and has significant onboard RAM (depending on which model you purchase). The system makes a good gaming platform and a great organizer.

The big problem, though, is that as of July 25th, Tapwave has announced that they will no longer be selling or supporting the Zodiac (check out their website for details). As of July 28th, it said that they will not be supporting them (but does offer links to some online user forums, etc.); the message seems to suggest that Tapwave may be continuing other lines, but not the Zodiac (currently the do not have any other publicly announced lines), so they may later relent on their support stance.

This is an AWESOME device but you need to be aware that Tapwave, she's dead. Buying this device is a huge risk as there is effectively no warranty, and you will be unable to download updates for it or purchase games that were made for it.
