Worth the cost.......2002-01-09

Although the visibility is hurt a little bit by the sheets the protection is well worth the minor loss in image. I really like the feel that the sheets add. I find myself looking down less when I am taking quick notes because of the better texture. I would like to see the price go down a bit but...[it's] a lot better than replacing a screen

Great For Tap Screen Users Like Me.......2001-05-28

As a heavy note taking and word processing user of my Palm (writing into both Palm's memo program and Data Viz's Documents To Go), I was starting to notice scratches appearing on my screen, particularly over the most used letters of the tap screen keyboard. (Since I don't use Graffiti, these scratches were beginning to obscure the live viewing area of the display when the keyboard was not in use.)

I immediately purchased a package of Fellowes WriteRight based upon a friend's recommendation.

The WriteRight plastic overlays immediately covered up the scratches on my screen (making it look new again) while providing me with the protection that I was seeking.

With the WriteRight sheets, the clarity and contrast of my screen are reduced somewhat, and glare reduction (as touted on the package) is negligible at best. My Palm screen, however, is still usable in either reflected light or when using the Palm V's backlight (the latter being very important to me since I work on my Palm at night either on a plane or at my kids' sports practice).

The life of each overlay sheet easily exceeds the one month suggested manufacturer's recommendation. And, when removed (which is easy to do), it leaves no adhesive residue.

The enclosed "squeegee" (a credit card-size piece of plastic) made application and air bubble evacuation more certain. And the non-glare finish of the sheets does prevent fingerprints from being seen as claimed.

Fellowes WriteRight is overall a very good product. Be sure to buy some either before or after you scratch your display. Either way, the WriteRight sheets, even though they may seem a bit pricey, are certainly a good value and much less expensive when compared to the alternative -- paying to have the screen replaced.

Great Protection for the Palm Vx.......2001-05-23

I noticed that the screen of my Palm Vx showed fingerprints and dirt very easily, and I was looking for something that would go on and come off very easily, without leaving any sort of residue or tack on the screen. This product is just that, it has a light texture that allows easier pickup from the stylus, which is an excellent feature. The textured surface also acts as a filter for the screen, it is hard to view it at longer distances, which could be a great feature for privacy reasons, but I found that using it as close as I have before, I have no problem reading the screen, if not easier on the eyes. Personally, I thought the product was a bit pricey at first, but it contains enough protectors for an entire year! Its well worth the cost to protect a valued investment. If you have purchased a Palm V(x) or you are purchasing one, be sure to pick up this product.

If i were to by only one acessory for my Vx, it would certainly be the Writeright. I cant say enough for this product. I absolutely love it.

First of all, it protects the screen. This is the most obvious reason why one would get a screen protector. Once you scratch your screen thats pretty much it, unless you replace it completely. Also it protects its resale value. For PDA's this is essential because after about a year and a half you might want to get another PDA and you'd like to sell your old unit for a little something. Protecting the screen can mean the difference...

Secondly, it eliminates glare or reflection on the screen. It works best in brightlight conditions. It cleans up the screen completely. In any angle the screen is clearly visible.

Lastly and the most impressive thing about this product is the fact that it has a pen to paper feel. It actually feels like your writing on paper. ITS AMAZING. I've tried other screen protectors and they pale in comparison.

The only bad thing i can say about it the fact that in lowlight conditions when you have to turn on the backlight, it is not so clear. But i rarely use the backlight so it really doesnt bother me. If you use the backlight a lot i recommend you go another direction.

Get this product people!! You'll love it!!

Expensive and annoying.......2001-01-02

While they may protect the screen they are very difficult to apply without getting air bubbles. The texture is nice to write on but it also makes the Palm more difficult to read. I would expect a better product. Another writer had the best suggestion, if you like the texture then cut the clear cover to fit only over the writing area.
