Motorola states that the HF850 is compatible with the Motorola V551, V600, A630, MPX220, and RAZR V3. It is also compatible with the V710, but this phone must have firmware 8700_01.40 or higher.

Stay clear of this one.......2007-05-21

I bought this through Amazon two weeks ago, I finally had a Saturday off to install it and found it was defective. It would not go into pairing mode. I called Motorola's USA tech support only to get India and a guy reading the manual getting famillar on my dime. After 1 and half hours of indian dialect he tells me that I have to send it back at my expense so they can evaluate it. I tell him this wont do. I calle Amazon and they tell me to call Motorola. This is the last Motorola product I buy and maybe the last time I shop via Amazon. At least if I bought local I could be talking to an american and not some indian. Do yourself a favor dont buy this product.

My office is far from home and Was looking for a handsfree which can help me take long conference calls while going to and coming from office. This product from Motorola integrates well with my blackberry pearl with no problem. I got this fitted into my Honda car in New Delhi just paid 5 dollars and it is intelligent. If I am having a conversation on the phone while I get into the car and starts off the engine, within few seconds the handsfree system takes over automatically. Same way when I switch off my engine it waits for my conversation to finish before turning off the handsfree.. Pretty cool.

I'm glad I decided to invest in this device. Saves you from getting tickes, or better yet, having an accident. Easy to install, easy to operate, and sound quality is better that the hand held phone.

Not loud enough.......2007-03-31

It's a nice unit, but the 5-watt speaker is not loud enough. If you're sitting in a parking lot, then it's fine, but with a little road noise, you can't hear the caller well enough. I often have to pull out my earpiece and plug it in. I've tried moving it to a few locations within the passenger compartment, but it's still not loud enough.

The microphone works great! People on the other end claim that they can't tell that I'm using a speaker phone.

Installation is not that hard, if you're handy with car electronics installations (toughest part is finding a good power source). However, the connectors on the main control unit tend to be a bit loose and don't make good contact. Using a sharp fine-tipped nail, I was able to tighten the connectors a bit for a better contact. If you're not handy with wiring and aren't having it professionally installed, stay away from this. Also, the control panel has a long wire to connect back to the controller. This wire has a small connector on the end of it, but the connector is about 2-3 times thicker than the wire itself. So, if when drilling a hole to run the wire, the hole must be much wider than the wire.

Quality of the product seems to be average. I do enjoy the non-intrusive small control panel. The 50-million functions assigned to the multi-function key is a bit annoying -- you never know what you're going to get when you press the big blue button.

Nothing but problems with 2 of them.......2007-02-22

I had one professionally installed by Verizon Wireless contractors in my wife's Honda Civic and one in my Ford Five Hundred. Her's often does not work on inbound calls. She can her the caller, caller cannot hear her. They have been troubleshooting it, but no solution after 3 weeks. We even upgraded her RAZR firmware, but still a problem. Had mine installed for 1 week and now my microphone does not work. Stone, cold dead. Does not even hear my voice commands. Very, very disappointed. When they work, sound quality is very good. Also, the Verizon installers would not hook it up to mute the radio, as they did not want to accept responsibility for any radio problems. Unfortunately, they did not tell me they would not do that until they had installed.

IHF 1000.......2007-06-01

Just installed it myself in my 1998 Expedition. Paired it with my Motorola RAZR. I wanted to have the audio come through the factory speakers, but I couldn't find a compatible T-harness for my model year, so I had to use the speaker that came with the unit. The audio from the IHF 1000 speaker is VERY good, so not being able to use the factory speakers turned out to be not a big deal at all. Without the T-harness, you'll need to connect 3 wires to your vehicle: Ground, +12V battery, and +12V Ignition. I've only used it a couple of days but I haven't had a single voice command misfire yet. I mounted the microphone on the headliner to the left of the driver's visor. The 20 numbers you can program right into the unit makes this model worth the extra money. You have to issue a couple extra voice commands to access all the voice tags in the RAZR, so I have about 6 numbers I call most often programmed into the IHF1000 and access all the other numbers in my RAZR through additional voice commands. I've used the Motorola ear-piece and speaker phone units clipped on the visor. They're not even in the same league.

This car kit is pretty great, I only have an occasional voice command issues. But other than that it was simple to install and setup.

Excellent hands-free operation.......2007-01-31

I bought this for my wife, although I do have to admit I was unable to buy it from amazon -- after two attempts (original order, and replacement order), in which they sent me a palm treo skin instead of the IHF1000, I just canceled the order and ordered elsewhere.

When we opened the package (it was an xmass present) I took a look at the install and decided I didn't have the time to deal with it, so I went by the local Best Buy store and they agreed to install it for $80. Installation went great and looks much better than it would had I installed it.

It works great. Even when I programmed in a number with my voice, she was able to use that programming. When the car starts up, the system announces that it has found "phone 1" (my wife's RAZR) and she can then dial and/or answer without having to take the phone out of her purse.

Hopefully amazon has fixed their problem with order processing of this item, but that shouldn't impinge the item itself.

IHF1000 with Katana SCP-6600. .......2007-01-18

I installed this car kit and paired it with my Sanyo SCP-6600 Katana cell phone. The voice recignition and sound quality are great. Everything works good with the system except for the pairing. Everytime I start my car the IHF1000 reports "phone 1 ready." Problem is that some numbers it dials, and some numbers it doesn't. I can call my home number via number recognition or from the contact list with no problems. But when I call other numbers the IHF1000 says "call failed" almost immediately. If I remove all paired phones from the IHF1000 (even though I only have my only phone paired) and re-pair my phone it works great.....until I shut my car off. So bottom line, even though my car kit says "phone 1 ready" everytime I start my car, certain numbers won't work unless I removed all phones then re-pair the phone each time. I've fooled with mulitple settings on my phone and still can't get it to work. Anybody have similar problems or know a work around? [...]

Motorola IHF1000 Bluetooth Car Kit.......2007-01-09

The car kit works well, took a while to install, but Amozon completely screwed up the order and sent the wrong item. Then they told me I could get the correct item for a higher price, since the ones at the price I bought had since sold out. I bought it from someone else. I have still not received the credit from Amazon to my crdit card bill. Needless to say, it was not a rewarding customer experience.

Car Kit Handsfree Kit.......2007-01-16

With the configureation of the plugin part of the unit it is difficult to operate because of the conformaty of the power receptical and the console shifter. Is there available a power cord that can be pluged into the power sourse and also into the receptical on the bottom of the unit? This would enable me to somehow mount the unit in a more coveinent location.
Other than that the quality of the unit is quite satisfactory.
Hope there is a solution available. Note: I have a 2005 Dodge Magnum.

I ordered this product because it looked like it would be perfect for my needs. I didn't want a unit that I had to permanently mount or that hung off a air vent or glued onto my dash since I seem to change cell phones more often then cars. The CCM unit plugs into a cigarette lighter and since I have 2 in my car it seemed perfect. Unfortunately when I got it I discovered it wasn't compatible with my Nokia 3220. The adapters that come with the unit plug into the headset jack and then into the Handsfree unit so you can hear and talk without a headset or having to pick up the phone. I called and they don't have an adapter for my phone. It would have been nice if their product page on Amazon contained more information about what phones are compatible with the unit. As it is they just list what phones aren't compatible and the Nokia 3220 wasn't on the list. However I will say that after checking the product out a bit it looks like a nice product. Not only because of the hands free/headset free aspects but also how it mounts in the car, the ruggedness of the product, it came with and extension in case you need to alter the length position of the phone and you can also change the angles of the phone holder. Very versatile. Had they had an adapter for my phone I probably would have kept it.
