Amazon.com Product Description

With a simple touch screen interface, automatic route calculation to any destination, and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions, the StreetPilot c330 GPS navigator is a powerful companion for your adventures on the road. Plus, Garmin has designed the "c-series" of car navigation units to be as simple and easy-to-use as possible-- no more intimidating features, just straightforward, basic navigation at your fingertips. Selecting a destination is as simple as a few finger-strokes, and you can choose between a three-dimensional navigation view or the more traditional "bird's eye" overhead view.

The streetPilot "c-series" GPS navigators feature a simple touchscreen interface, with automatic route calculation to any destination.

The 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display makes navigation a snap.

The included database features nearly six million points of interests including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions.
The c330 keeps track of places that you find and stores the fifty most recent finds in an easy to access list called Recent Selections, placing the most recently viewed at the top of the list. This becomes a very helpful feature if you visit the same places over and over and don't want the inconvenient of reloading the information in the unit multiple times. Although the c330 boasts distinctive and sleek styling, simplicity is the name of the game. The only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The device is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield for easy portability between vehicles. You can customize the unit's appearance with an array of colored faceplates that are sold separately.

For the ultimate out-of-the-box convenience, the StreetPilot c330 comes pre-loaded with highly detailed MapSource City Select street data. The database features an industry-leading five million-plus points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. The c330's bright, 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display makes navigation a snap. The unit also features dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, and an internal lithium-ion battery for out-of-car route planning.

It's also worth mentioning that with some GPS units the manual to use them is as thick as a phone book, but it was a pleasant surprise to find that the c330's manual was very easy to use and provided many screen shots to make sure the user understood the units capabilities. If you find yourself on the road looking for addresses often and just want a GPS to tell you where to go simply and clearly than this unit was made for you.

What's in the Box
StreetPilot c330 receiver, vehicle suction cup mount, PC/USB interface cable and quick-reference guide. Also includes a factory pre-loaded version of Americas Recreational Basemap and MapSource City Select North America CD with full unlock (for sale in North America).

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful.......2007-06-28

It's easy to use.
If your looking for a very good basic GPS to get you from point a to b, the Garmin C330 will do. I have had zero problems.

5 out of 5 stars Can't Beat This Unit For The Money.......2007-06-27

Took me 5 minutes to unpack and set it up in our car ( we've also used it in our truck). Pulled out of the garage and let it lock in "home" and then put in the address we were going to in another town several hours away. It guided us right to the front door with no wrong turns, no problems, easy to hear and see. Same results on the second trip in the truck to our sons new home in a community we had never been to before. This is a great little unit.

5 out of 5 stars I love this gadget!!!!!.......2007-06-27

A friend of mine had one of these and showed it to me and I was hooked. I bought mine a day later. I love it! It works very well and it is simple to use. We are going on a long road trip later this summer and are looking forward to using it for that. I am a social worker who visits people at home all the time and it's very useful for that as well. I would recommend this to anyone who travels a lot.

1 out of 5 stars bought two, one died hard after one usage.......2007-06-27

i trusted Garmin but this is really a very terrible experience with c330. My friend asked me to buy two for him and one died hard after only one usage: we tried reset button, we tried different ways of powering it up. But it completely died. have to return it for full refund. So for people planning to invest in c330, be careful and test yours once receiving it to make sure it works reliably and you can meet the 30-day return deadline if it does not work.

5 out of 5 stars Garmin StreetPilot c330 - GREAT Purchase!!.......2007-06-27

I was surprisingly delighted at my purchase of the Garmin StreetPilot c330 which I really believe has already paid for itself through real time saved & stress free journeys. Having not grown up in Boston, it obviously takes quite some time to familiarise myself with everything - now whilst I remember, at least if I don't - I'll still get there on time!! All-in-all, a great buy.

Amazon.com Product Description

Adding a fashionable touch to Research in Motion's formidable arsenal of telephonic, PIM, and media tools, the BlackBerry 8300 Curve is also the smallest, lightest BlackBerry phone that includes a full QWERTY keyboard. This amalgam of the svelte BlackBerry Pearl and the more business-oriented 8800 combines RIM's long-valued corporate email and messaging platform with a host of advanced multimedia features, including a 2-megapixel camera and stereo Bluetooth (for listening to music via wireless headphones). Available in the U.S. exclusively from AT&T, it communicates over GSM/GPRS and EDGE networks and offers global voice and data roaming in over 130 countries.

Key features at a glance:

The svelte, liquid silver BlackBerry Curve has a QWERTY keyboard and 2.5-inch screen on the front, and a 2-megapixel camera on the back (with flash and 5x digital zoom).

The full keyboard and the innovative trackball navigation system (placed above the keyboard) makes accessing your data and writing email a breeze.
The Curve is fashioned in a liquid silver finish with chrome highlights and subtly curving corners. Measuring 4.2 x 2.4 inches, the Curve is just as slim as the Pearl (0.6 inches) and weighs in at 3.9 ounces--just 0.7 ounces heavier than its predecessor. It features a bright 2.5-inch color TFT screen that provides 65,000 colors and a 320 x 240-pixel resolution, and it includes a light-sensing feature that automatically adjusts backlighting for indoor, outdoor and dark environments. Like the BlackBerry 8800, the Curve includes a trackball navigation system located on the top of the QWERTY keypad, and it also features an integrated spell checker with a customizable dictionary to help maintain accuracy while on the go. It has 64 MB of internal ROM memory, and is expandable using MicroSD memory cards. The battery provides up to 4 hours (240 minutes) of talk time and up to 17 days (408 hours) of standby time.

You can snap vivid photos (though no video) using the 2-megapixel camera on the back of the Curve, which also features a 5x digital zoom, built-in flash, self-portrait mirror and full screen viewfinder. It can capture images in up to three picture quality and size resolutions that can be shared instantly by email, MMS or BlackBerry Messenger, or even uploaded to your Flickr account with the Yahoo! Go service. Photos can also be immediately set as a unique caller ID or Home Screen image. You can edit photos and create albums within the Curve using the PhotoSuite application. Pictures can be cropped, rotated and straightened, and flaws can be fixed by removing redeye or changing the brightness, contrast, and saturation levels.

Listen to your favorite music and watch downloaded videos using the included stereo headset, or use an optional wireless headphone thanks to the Curve's support for the Bluetooth stereo audio profile (A2DP/AVRCP). The Curve is compatible with a wide variety of file formats, including MP3, WMA and AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ audio and WMV, MPEG4 and H.263 video. Dedicated volume controls are conveniently located on the side of the handset. You can also subscribe to the AT&T Music service, which includes access to online subscription music content from eMusic, XM Satellite Radio and more.

With the Voice-Activated Dialing (VAD) feature, you can initiate a call just by telling the Curve who to call from your contact list--either via the integrated speakerphone or using an optional Bluetooth wireless headset. Other advanced phone features include advanced sound technology that cancels out background noise and echo, dedicated volume and mute keys, and the ability to customize the Curve with polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.

Though it doesn't come with an integrated GPS receiver, you can add an optional Bluetooth-enabled receiver to take advantage of the BlackBerry Maps application. Check maps for fast turn-by-turn directions virtually anywhere--simply click on an address in your address book, type it or paste one in.

Staying Connected
With BlackBerry's push email technology, your email will find you without having to initiate a connection. BlackBerry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, notifying you as new email arrives. In addition to the text, you can also receive and view attachments in a wide range of popular file formats, including Microsoft Office, Corel WordPerfect, and Adobe PDF.

Browse the web with the integrated, full-featured browser, which quickly and efficiently displays HTML pages as well as enables you to set up RSS feeds to stay connected to up-to-the-minute news and blog posts. And keep up with your contacts using a variety of instant message (IM) networks, including the integrated Blackberry Messenger as well as downloadable clients for Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, and Lotus Sametime.

This quadband phone operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 networks and can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T's EDGE network, with availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. It also offers AT&T's Push to Talk (PTT) feature, which enables walkie talkie-style instant voice communication with other AT&T users--either one-on-one or with groups--and it allows you to convert the PTT call to a regular voice call if you need to have a longer discussion.

The Curve delivers all the corporate email and messaging capabilities you've come to expect. It's supported on BlackBerry Internet Service, giving you access to up to 10 work or personal email accounts (including most popular ISP email accounts), as well as BlackBerry Enterprise Server, enabling advanced security and IT administration within IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise environments.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Best Business PHONE out there.......2007-07-01

Blackberry is the most popular business PHONE out there -- for good reasons. They work! And the interface is straight forward to use with the side "wheel" acting like the mouse on your computer.

While Blackberry hasn't always excelled when it comes to being a cell phone -- it evolved from a PDA into a cellphone -- it has consistently improved it's Voice capabilities. With the 8300, the phone capabilities have clearly caught up with other phones that "morphed" into PDAs. The voice reception and sound quality is very solid and with AT&Ts service, I rarely have dropped calls. (I originally was a cingular subscriber and when AT&T took over, I have not experienced any decrease in the level of service). You can use it without a headset which feels a bit clunky -- but when you lose bluetooth headsets at the rate I do, it is nice to know that when all else fails, it is very functional by itself.

As a PDA -- this is where Blackberry really outshines its competition. It is the most widely supported Enterprise-wide email. It integrates with Outlook which is pretty much a necessity if you live in the corporate world. Now with the addition of GPS, Blackberry solidify's it's desire to be a "grownup" phone/device.

To me, a PDA/Phone should help you get through your day. It should tell you where you need to be next. Help you get there. Tell people if you aren't going to be there. Keep in touch via email when you are there.

I don't need it to play music -- I've got my car stereo for that. I don't need it to take pictures. When I'm at work, there is very little I want to take pictures of -- certainly not my coworkers :-O. When I'm waiting in a doctors office -- the browser is adequate to kill some time though I generally plan ahead and bring an old-fashioned analog book -- you know the type -- the one with pages and real ink on it. If you have a notebook, this phone also makes a pretty handy wireless modem -- though it is rather slow. That way, you don't have to worry about where the nearest Starbucks is to connect to the internet.

So I guess it boils down to what do you want your phone to do. If you want it to be a phone and be straightforward to use, then Blackberry is the perfect device. It will keep you connected to home, office and places in between, Blackberry 8300 is what will serve you best.

5 out of 5 stars MY FIRST BLACKBERRY.......2007-06-29

I've had a number of PDA style phones and was never happy till I got this new BB 8300. Slim, light, excellent screen & battery life, very easy to use. Surprising picture quality from the built-in camera too. GPS and WiFi would make it perfect however.

5 out of 5 stars 8300 Curve, first Blackberry -- never going back to "smartphones".......2007-06-29

I recently picked up the Curve from ATT and was immediately impressed. The display is crisp, the phone is very responsive and the media player also isn't bad (for a phone).

This was actually my first time with a Blackberry and I am glad I finally took the plunge, just wish I didn't wait so long because I can never go back to another phone. The emailing features are enough to make you jump up and down and spellcheck on a phone.. that is simply the best. I am now sending professional emails while in traffic or while grabbing my morning coffee.

Actually on the subject of email I recently tested the attachment capability by having my friend send me a 180k image that was alot larger than the screen. It downloaded in seconds and retrieved the hi-res where I was able to scroll around with the track ball in a matter of 30 seconds.

I also looked at the Pearl, but the SureType system just seemed to bug me. Otherwise this Curve is very similar but with a full keyboard it makes it very usable.

I didn't purchase it through Amazon so I can't comment on that part, but I highly recommend this phone wherever you decide to purchase it from.

5 out of 5 stars First time smartphone user/owner.......2007-06-29

I can't say enough good things about this phone! I too did a lot of research as I was in desperate need of a new phone. I have always had a "flip phone" and the arrival of the Blackberry Curve was perfect timing as I hated my Razor!!!

Having never owned a smartphone/organizer, I was pleasantly surprised how easy this phone was to navigate.

The battery life is amazing and I was impressed with the clarity of the speaker phone.

I'm still trying to learn all the short cuts, but I have to say that I love this phone!!!

5 out of 5 stars Time to upgrade.......2007-06-27

It was time to put my old BB to rest. I was not sure I could part with an old familiar friend. However within a week of owning this fashionable, light weight, highly sophisticated media system I feel in love. For me that is a statement in itself. I am not an early adopter. I do not follow the latest in cool toys. My primary use is corporate email and a messaging platform as I am on the road year round. Unlike most of the reviews you will read I have little to no interest in explaining all the reasons why I love the 2.5-inch TFT display with 320 x 240-pixel resolution or the 2.0 Mega pixel camera with flash and 5x digital zoom. I am not even sure I know what that means as the end user. What I do feel is relevant to shoppers like myself is the following:

*The piece fits nicely in your hand and is light light light.
*The trackball is easy to use and surprisingly quick to adapt to.
*I really appreciate the integrated spell checker with user-customizable dictionary.
*The organization tools are a must have when you are busy and on the run. Capabilities, including calendar, tasks, address book, and memo pad are easy to use and great to have.
*The clarity of this phone finally makes me feel like the BB is more then an email tool. I can actually hear people talking. The Noise-cancellation technology to offset background noise must really work.
*The camera is a bonus.

Fantastic buy! No compliants.

At long last Pink Floyd: Pulse has arrived on DVD, and Floyd fans already know it's a major cause to celebrate. The original VHS release was a milestone bestseller, but it seemed to take forever for the DVD to arrive, with numerous delays while Floyd guitarist David Gilmour and long-time Floyd producer James Guthrie labored to restore, re-edit, and remix this legendary concert video in 5.1-channel Dolby Surround Sound. The resulting two-disc set was well worth the wait: While the limitations of the original video source are still evident in the sometimes-hazy image quality (Gilmour would later admit the concert should have been captured on film), Floyd fans will unanimously agree that Pulse has never looked or sounded better, and only the absence of group co-founder Roger Waters prevents this from being the ultimate document of Pink Floyd in performance. (Even without Waters, it's easily one of the group's most impressive stage productions.) Gracefully directed with minimal intrusion by veteran music video and concert director David Mallet, and shot on video during Pink Floyd's two-week stint at London's Earls Court Exhibition Centre in October 1994, this 145-minute performance (from Floyd's Division Bell tour) is a sonic marvel to behold. Under a massive arch festooned with then-state-of-the-art laser, lighting, and projection systems, the 1987 incarnation of Pink Floyd (Gilmour, keyboardist Richard Wright, and drummer Nick Mason) and their stellar supporting band kicks off with "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" (a loving tribute to Floyd co-founder Syd Barrett), followed by four tracks from The Division Bell, two from 1987's A Momentary Lapse of Reason, "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)" from 1979's magnum opus The Wall, and leading into intermission with an absolutely stunning performance of "One of These Days," the timeless opening track from 1971's Meddle.

The centerpiece of Disc 2 is a near-perfect performance of 1974's Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety--reason enough to make this a must-have DVD for even the most casual Floyd admirers. And while no one will ever re-create the sheer magnificence of Clare Torry's original tour de force vocals on "The Great Gig in the Sky," it's safe to say that backup singers Sam Brown, Claudia Fontaine, and Durga McBroom deliver the next best thing, in addition to seamless contributions throughout the concert. After the closing heartbeat of "Eclipse," the concert ends with encore performances of "Wish You Were Here," "Comfortably Numb," and a no-holds-barred, pyrotechnically explosive rendition of The Wall's "Run Like Hell," all showcasing Gilmour's guitar mastery with frequent close-ups of his picking and fret-work as seen throughout the concert. (Like Gilmour, Mason and Wright were never dynamic onstage, and that's true here as well, but their technical precision is fully evident, and while guitarist Tim Renwick and saxophonist Dick Parry are each given moments to shine, bassist Guy Pratt is a worthy substitution for Waters, especially when vocally sparring with Gilmour on "Run Like Hell.")

With beautiful packaging, an 8-page booklet, and menu designs by long-time Floyd associate Storm Thorgerson, the DVDs offer an abundance of bonus features including "Bootlegging the Bootleggers," featuring surprisingly good-quality "boot" video performances of "What Do You Want From Me?," "On the Turning Away," "Poles Apart," and "Marooned." The surreal round-ratio screen films seen throughout the concert can all be viewed independently (still in round format, and several offered in both original and alternate versions). Music videos for "Learning to Fly" and "Take It Back" are included on Disc 1, along with "Tour Stuff" including maps, itineraries, and stage plans for the 1994 tour. "Say Goodbye to Life as We Know It" is a playful backstage video (mostly involving the production staff's ongoing quest for a good pint of beer), and after delivering a heartfelt introduction to Pink Floyd's 1996 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (with Roger Waters and Syd Barrett acknowledged by Gilmour), Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan joins Gilmour and Wright for a moving acoustic performance of "Wish You Were Here" (directed at Waters, perhaps?). Additional features include album cover art, a photo gallery, and the concert-only audio choice between a 448kbps audio bitstream or a higher-quality 640kbps stream for higher-quality DVD players. The system set-up feature ensures that audiophiles will achieve optimum speaker performance in keeping with Pink Floyd's exacting technical standards. In tandem with the superior concert presentation, these features make Pulse one of the best--if not the best--music DVDs of 2006, guaranteed to satisfy Floyd fans for many years to come. --Jeff Shannon

5 out of 5 stars had it for years on lazer disc now finally on DVD.......2007-06-22

Saw this show twice in Atlanta. This is a must have. The only thing about this show that isn't as good as the 87 tour is the girl singers. They still are good though. This was the stage and light show that will probally keep David Gilmore from ever touring Pink Floyd again. I don't think they could out do it. Great sound and lots of extras the lazer disc didn't have. You won't miss Roger too bad trust me. This show was history. If you missed it this will get you there. Turn it up and enjoy

5 out of 5 stars pink floyd in all their glory.......2007-06-15

This DVD is definitely a winner...The unique sound of "the Floyd" comes across splendidly here...Video and audio are extra sharp, and the colors and the laser effects are outstanding...get it for yourself.

5 out of 5 stars excellent.......2007-06-13

Disc 1 has great visuals and excellent sound, Disc 2, same but the last 3 songs are great. Well worth the $$$$

4 out of 5 stars Wow! Almost like being there, but............2007-06-12

I bought PULSE on VHS when it first came out a few years ago. I was so excited when I heard it was coming to DVD.....and a little disappointed after my first viewing.

DON'T GET ME WRONG! This is an EXCELLENT performance from one of the most artistic, prolific and enduring rock bands of our time!

The only problem is, the video is not of DVD quality. The original footage was shot on video tape and a DVD tranfer is only as good as the master it was taken from. You can only do so much with a sub-par master tape (remember, this concert was recorded before the age of DVD and video tape was more or less the industry standard at the time).

The redeeming factor of this release is that it's the only way you can get the entire Dark Side of the Moon album performed LIVE! Gilmour, Mason and Wright have proved that they still have what it takes when it comes to musicianship. The only thing that would have made this DVD even better was if Roger Waters could have put aside his differences and been a part of this concert.

The bonus features of this DVD are simply amazing. This is a must-have for any Pink Floyd fan or a music fan in general.

David Gilmour (my personal guitar hero) is amazing to watch. It makes me mad when I have to work hard at playing guitar and he makes it seem so effortless!

Mason and Wright are also given chances to shine (especially the keyboard solo in "Any Colour You Like"!!!!).

When you buy this DVD and get ready to watch it, turn down the lights, turn off the phone, relax, and get ready to be blown away!

5 out of 5 stars Very nice.......2007-06-09

Lots and lots of great material. You'll easily spend a couple of hours in these discs before you even come to the concert itself.

It's a new mix of the video, from what I understand. My only complaint, same as the old VHS version, is now magnified by the increased size of TVs. The band's set and props create a beautiful visual setting, but you need to be back a few hundred feet to even see it all. While the special effects are blowing the audience's mind, we get LONG closeup shots of a bunch of average looking guys standing around on a stage. Several times they went for the fabulous long shot, and took the guitar frets closeup and inset it down in the corner. Wish they'd done that a lot more. If you've got a six foot TV, you really don't want to see the entire screen filled with a guitar player's face, especially when you're missing lasers and rockets and 100 foot video images.

Advanced Wireless and GPS Technology
At the heart of the StreetPilot c550 is a high-sensitivity WAAS-capable GPS receiver by SiRF that provides outstanding acquisition times and the ability to maintain a strong signal under heavy foliage and near city skyscrapers. This means you'll always know precisely where you are. Meanwhile, an automotive-grade, sunlight-readable, 2.8 x 2.1-inches (WxH) anti-glare TFT LCD touch-screen display offers easy readability. With dimensions of 4.4 x 3.2 x 2.2-inches (WxHxD), and at about nine ounces in weight, the StreetPilot c550 features a streamlined design that will fit easily on any dashboard with the included vehicle suction mount. The unit also features Garmin Lock -- an advanced anti-theft feature that disables the unit from performing any functions until you type in a specific four-digit PIN or take the unit to a predetermined location.

The StreetPilot c550 also includes Bluetooth technology integrated with a microphone and dual speakers that lets you make hands-free mobile phone calls on a compatible Bluetooth wireless phone. You can view incoming calls on your c550, and simply tap the screen to answer. Just speak into the built-in microphone while staying focused on your driving. In addition, you can retrieve and dial numbers from your personalized phone book or the phone's call history log. You can also make calls from the more than six million points of interest database -- which includes hotels, restaurants, stores, and much more.

Another feature unique to the c550 is its integrated traffic capabilities. The c550 includes the GTM 20, an integrated FM TMC traffic receiver with a free three-month trial subscription (for U.S. customers only). The GTM 20 notifies you of traffic conditions, construction and weather delays, and automatically suggests alternative routes. The navigator also comes with preloaded maps of Europe or North America and includes automatic routing, 2D or 3D map perspective, and turn-by-turn voice directions that speak street names -- making navigation as easy as it gets. An included MP3 player lets you enjoy music from your digital collection while you drive, and an included SD memory card expansion slot means that you can load optional software, such as language and travel guides -- making travel even easier and more entertaining than ever.

What's in the Box
StreetPilot c550, preloaded City Navigator NT North America or Europe (full coverage), GTM 20 integrated FM TMC traffic receiver with free 3-month trial subscription (U.S.), vehicle suction-cup mount, dashboard disk, USB interface cable, carry case, and quick reference guide.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great GPS!.......2007-06-29

I've had this product for almost a month now and it is flawless. I've not experienced the lock up or crash problem some have had when using the SD card slot while playing mp3's. Maybe they upgraded the flash and/or software since then. However, I also don't intend to use it long term to listen to my music in the car. The sound is still tinny and thin because of the small speakers.

Right out of the box it is ready, willing, and able to go. I needed it a day after I got it. I plugged in the address, portions of the address really, it filled in the rest, gave me a choice for multiple addresses, and, BAM, got me going in under a min. As a consultant, I'm always going to new locations around the Puget Sound and even Portland areas. This device makes it SO easy to get where I need to go without the worry of printing out online maps.

However, that does not mean it doesn't have some flakiness to it. The Bluetooth seems to have some weirdness about connecting and being connected to. It has disabled itself several times. On one occasion, it disconnected itself right after I hung up a call. Another thing that Amazon STILL has not updated is their web site in recommending the car adaptor when you buy the c550. First off, you don't need one for car because it comes with one. Second, is the fact it is the WRONG adaptor. As stated in another reviewers review. What makes it even worse; I had to pay to send the adaptor back.

However, overall, this is a great product and I couldn't really be any happier. No longer do I need to GoogleEarth or Mapquest a location, print it out, and then read it while I'm driving the road.

5 out of 5 stars Doesn't get much better!!!.......2007-06-27

I have a Nuvi 660 and just bought this unit for my wife, and she loves it. The screen is a bit small compared to the Nuvi :), but all in all, has all the necessary features. Great GPS.

1 out of 5 stars I wish that my brand new Garmin worked........2007-06-24

My husband bought Garmin as a Christmas present for me after we moved to the East Coast. The product worked 6 times total. When I contacted Garmin for technical support, the technician admitted that specific product we had was defective. They acknowledged that the part number was part of a "bad run" and then gave me the run around about warranty services. They really do not want to replace it or give us our money back. After this deplorable customer service, I would recommend that Amazon customers consider alternative GPS systems. TomTom or Magellan specifically. I am not sure how this battle with Garmin will end... either we will have to sue them or raise a stink to get them to abide by their warranty obligation. My advice is GO ELSEWHERE for GPS systems.

4 out of 5 stars So Far, So good..........2007-06-22

I picked up the c550 from another online retailer. It came in an OEM (plain white) box, but contained all pieces the standard-boxed unit comes with. Quick notes:

- Acquires satellites much faster than my old Magellan RoadMate 700. Ready to go in less than a minute!
- If used in 'map' mode, it shows the next road coming up. Would like to know if that road is on the left or right side, but that's just being picky I suppose.
- 3D view is nice. Took some getting used to but I keep it in that mode now.
- Battery life is outstanding.
- The traffic feature is NOT INTEGRATED. It's part of the charger assembly. Had I known that, I may not have purchased this unit. When I read 'integrated' I expect it to be self-contained within the nav system.
- Because the traffic feature isn't integrated, if you choose to go on battery power alone you lose the traffic feature. So part of the portability goes out the window, as far as I'm concerned.
- Traffic monitoring is okay, but you have to have a route programmed in to get the feature, i.e., it won't give you traffic info on the road you're traveling on if you're in map mode.
- I haven't tried the Bluetooth speakerphone yet, but will test it soon.
- The POI feature is much nicer than some other systems I've tried. For example, if you query for restaurants, it will keep refreshing and updating your list, including distance and direction, while you move.
- Estimated time of arrival nice to have.

Overall, I'd buy this unit again. I picked over the c530 mainly for the Bluetooth functionality, but the traffic feature is nice as well. Too bad Garmin doesn't understand what 'integrated' means. I knocked off a star because of that.

4 out of 5 stars Good but not perfect.......2007-06-21

I bought this to help reaquaint myself with the Denver area after being gone for 20 some years as I was now moving back to town. While it has been helpful say 80% of the time. The directions are off two frequently. Like the final mile to my house. I've been here two months now and don't use it all that often but I find it especially useful when I'm away from home and want to find the best way from that spot to one on my favorite list. I'm hoping the next upgrade to the software will start ironing out some ot the kinks in direction giving.

That said I'd still buy it again.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Get the right seal!.......2007-06-27

I can understand a little criticism here and there regarding V-Moda's Bass Freq earphones, but those who give it awful reviews likely have one thing in common: they never got the right seal in their ears!

I received the earphones and was skeptical myself after I stuck them in my ears to the point which I thought was proper and pressed play. The sound was hollow, and didn't really sound any better than the standard iPod earbuds. I then adjusted the Bass Freq's to get a better fit, and the sound improved drastically.

Later that night, I realized that the silicon tips that came on the 'phones in the packaging were the smallest size, not the mediums as I had assumed. Once I put the medium silicon tips on, the Bass Freq's fit perfectly, and now sound incredible. Just make sure you get the right fit in your ears, and there's no doubt you'll be impressed with the Bass Freq's.

5 out of 5 stars BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK.......2007-06-27

I WAS NOT EXPECTING THE GREAT SOUND QUALITY WHEN I PURCHASED THESE EARBUDS FOR MY HUSBAND FOR HIS MP3 PLAYER TO USE IN THE GYM. THEY ARE ALSO GREAT AT BLOCKING OUTSIDE NOISE. WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE TO FIND THAT THEY WERE AS GOOD AS THE SHURE E2c'S BUT AT LESS THAN 1/2 THE PRICE! I'M A SOUND ENGINEER, I SPEND LOTS OF TIME IN MY HEADPHONES MIXING AND CREATING MUSIC AND PRODUCING SOUNDTRACKS. I COULD USE THESE AS WELL IN A PINCH. YOU WON'T BE SORRY YOU BOUGHT THESE!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality Earbuds.......2007-06-27

This is my second set of these V-Moda earbuds and they are a great value for the cost. The sound quality is excellent.

4 out of 5 stars Nice pair.......2007-06-26

Nice product. Good Quality. Only issue I face is its cable gets entangeled very easily. Bass is really good - no need to boost it using ur equalizer.

5 out of 5 stars Fits good, Nice bass.......2007-06-25

These are my first experimental pair of canalphones, and they work pretty well. They dont fall out of my ear and the sound quality is awesome. Some songs in my library would always distort with their high bass, but these seem to manage those different sounds well. They also cancel out a lot of unwanted noise, which is awesome for when your at work and don't want to hear someone calling you :-D. Great pair of phones, i'll use em as my main pair 'til the break.

5 out of 5 stars Great for the dough.......2007-06-27

I was looking for a basic cheap scanner, but this one surprised me with a slide and film tray. It does a very nice job with slides and film. It has a small footprint, is relatively quiet and looks cool.

5 out of 5 stars Works great!.......2007-06-26

Haven't noticed any problems. I've filled up the bed with photos and they all come out perfectly cropped.

4 out of 5 stars Wow - great with negatives!.......2007-06-12

Haven't scanned too much yet, but so far, this works great! I've scanned photos and negatives, and the quality is wonderful. The one negative item - the USB cable that came with the scanner did not work. We had to dig up another that we already had. I don't know why it didn't work, but I had to e-mail Cannon for support. They were the ones that suggested using another cable.

1 out of 5 stars Okay scanner, terrible software (for Mac).......2007-06-08

This scanner is okay as far as the quality of images goes; nothing fabulous, but not bad for the price, either. However, the software that comes with the scanner is absolutely terrible. (I am using the software for Mac OS X, so maybe it's different for Windows users, but I don't think so.) It is some of the worst designed software I've ever had the displeasure to use. Some of the many glaring flaws:

- There is an arbitrary limit of 20 characters for filenames when saving a scan. This might not seem like a big deal, but 20 characters is often not enough for a descriptive filename of any kind, especially when scanning multiple versions of a photo, for example, with different scan settings.

- There is no preview mode, or any way to select a region of an image to scan. The user can only choose from a pre-set paper size, or type a custom paper size. Neither option lets you select something in the middle of the page, for example.

- Windows are filled with poorly-designed buttons of various sizes, strewn every which way, and with cryptic names. For example, in one window that comes up when the user chooses the "confirm scanned image" option, there is a button labeled "forward." What does this mean? Well, the button does the same thing you would expect from an "OK" or "continue" button.

- When scanning, the status window (showing the progress of the scan) always stays on top of all other application windows. It can't be minimized, and doesn't move to the background with the rest of the program's windows when another application or window is selected. It can be moved, but the next time it pops up, it will be right in the middle of the screen again. This means that, when scanning multiple pages, it's impossible to use the computer for anything else, because the scan progress window will keep popping up every 10 seconds and getting in the way of whatever else you are trying to view/type.

Bottom line: the terrible software interface makes this scanner almost unusable for me. (The included PhotoStudio software is no better.) It is unnecessarily complex, and some screens seem like they were translated from Japanese by someone not too familiar with English. The scanning software supplied for OS X looks and feels like a 1990s-era Mac Classic application.

Incredibly, incredibly bad software. I wish I could post screenshots of some of the windows, so you'd see what I mean.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect scanner for me.......2007-06-01

For less than $100, this scanner fits my purposes exactly. I have about 1300 35mm slides, some more than 50 years old, that I need to transfer to digital format, both for convenience and to preserve the images. The 4400F was relatively straight forward to set up and is easy to use. I do very little editing during the scanning process, mostly just fading correction and some cropping. If I choose to do so, I can do more sophisticated editing later. I will admit, however, that taking full advantage of all the editing features is somewhat daunting. Also, be prepared to spend a lot of time staring at your monitor. The scanner only handles four slides at a time and takes 10-15 minutes for each batch, depending on how much editing I choose to do at the time. Nevertheless, if you need a capable and economical scanner at a reasonable price, and are prepared to spend some significant time scanning slides, the CanoScan 4400F is a good choice.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great little Scanner.......2007-06-29

I purchased this scanner about a week ago and it has to be the best scanner i have ever got. Expecially for the price! I scanned over 98 pictures in about a hour. I highly recommend it. Scanning ath 600 DPI scans a little slow but still great!

3 out of 5 stars Convenient, but poor scans.......2007-06-27

I love the fact that the scanner is powered by USB only, and that I can store it on a bookshelf among my books. Hard to beat the price, too. The image quality, however, is the worst I have ever seen from a scanner. It's possible that my unit has something wrong with it. I will live with the poor quality of the image, since I only use it for document records, but forget about trying to do anything with quality color images.

5 out of 5 stars Works Great.......2007-06-23

This is by far the best scanner I've ever used. I've tried several others, mostly older model scanners, and this one wins the ease of use hands down. It is simple to install, easy to use and does a good job. The software supplied works pretty well even if it does take a little getting used to. I haven't tried any of the OCR stuff yet, but everything else works like a charm. Since it has only one cable (the USB cable), I didn't even have to worry about having another AC power connector.

4 out of 5 stars Great price-Good hardware-Fussy software.......2007-06-14

I've been using the Canoscan LiDE25 for over a year and a half...no mechanical problems. I use it primarily for scanning/storing text docs and for emailing & faxing.

I bought it in 2005 when I got a new PC,finally upgrading from ME to XP. My old scanner was a Visioneer that I loved, but read that the old Visioneer driver could really screw up XP and that a new driver had to be downloaded (which included ~20 steps of installation instruction). A lot of reviewers said that they had system wide problems with the new driver as well...not worth the risk...so I looked for a replacement; the smallest, least expensive scanner on Amazon and ended up with the Lide25.

Pros
Size-wafer thin. Nice!
Price-unbeatable
Power supply-USB connection only with no need for an electrical outlet is a wonderful feature...frees up a slot in the powerstrip!
Scans well-probably is not the fastest in the world, but quite acceptable for home use.

Cons...I thought it was just me, but as other reviewers have indicated, the software has more whistles and bells than I need at the expense of simplicity. I really miss Visioneer's software that included a single desktop-type interface from where you could perform all filing, saving, editing, and secondary (fax/print/email) functions. If Canoscan has this capability, it is not readily apparent.

If not for the needless complexity of the software I would give the product 5 stars.

5 out of 5 stars Very easy to use and install.......2007-06-13

I purchased this scanner this weekend because my old scanner, which was still in working order, was not compatible with my new operating system Vista. I love how simple it is to install and that it only uses the USB cord for power and connection to the computer. I haven't figured out the programs that come with the scanner but that takes time. It is light and takes very little space. I recieved it on the day they said I would also. I didn't need anything too fancy. It is only to scan pictures and nothing else. I would recommend this to anyone that asks. The box even states Certified for Vista! I am happy with my purchase!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great GPS.......2007-06-28

Here is my experience with the IWay 250c.Let me start by saying that this is my first GPS reciever.I purchased the unit approx. 4 weeks ago planning to use it on a 5 day golf vacation in and around Nashville so this gave me some "play time" before our trip.We planned to stay in Nashville, shop, play 5 golf courses and eat at some of the more popular restaurants.I loaded all the golf courses we wanted to play in advance along with the hotel where we staying.Sitting in our driveway with the car loaded(and no maps)I selected the first golf course on the IWay 250c and told it to "GO TO" this course nearly 300 miles away.3.9 hrs later we were checking in at the club house. After we finished that round of golf we got back into our car pulled out the IWay and told it to "GO TO" our hotel,20 mins. later we were pulling into the hotel parking lot.For the next 5 mornings it navigated us to 5 different golf courses and we had no clue where we were going. After one round we located a famous seafood place on 2nd street down town Nashville.(in the IWay's restaurant menu)and it took us there and then back to our hotel flawlessly. We played our last round somewhere northeast of Nashville and it took us from there back to our home driveway 4hrs later(we live in Missouri). Here are the things I learned about this unit.I learned to always read what my next turn and what the name of the street is going to be.The IWay 250c will always tell verbally or it will display the name of the street (or hwy)that you will turning onto.I learned to always follow the high lighted road on the display because some street names were changed. The only problem we had and it was not fault of the IWay was due to an exit that was moved some 800 feet from it's original spot because of some really major road construction. We did pass this exit because the exit was 800 feet behind us before we understood what was going on.But IWat 250c took about 5 secs. figure a new route and got us back on course.I have had no lost signals except once in a tunnel and it locked almost immediately once out the other side.I've read some reviews about trouble reading the display in bright sunlight,I had the same problem until I discovered that the factory default setting for the display is set to go to "dim" after a very short time to save on the battery life. You can set the unit to full time bright, med. bright or dim -- or set it to dim automatically.I had no problems with long route generations or re-routing.The unit was very accurate,I would guess somwhere around 30 feet,a lot of times dead on.This my first GPS reciever so I have nothing to compare it to,but I have read reviews on more costly units and none of these things are 100% perfect.Based on that you get a lot of bang for your buck and it also impressed my wife and she is not easly impressed. We will never go on any road trip with out it!!.

5 out of 5 stars Satisfied.......2007-06-27

The product was easy to set up and has been as good as advertised. Am very satisfied with its performance.

5 out of 5 stars Great product for the money.......2007-06-27

Purchased this untit after returning another brand. Maping is eeamless in the US and Canada. I found that the voice instructions sometimes get confused at unusual intersections, circles, etc. but the map directions were accurate. I took a trip from NH to Prince Edward Island and it did a great job directing me right to our motel on PEI. Only problem was that many streets and towns on this small island were not in the searchable database, but all roads even the most remote were mapped. never experienced the delays noted elsewhere

2 out of 5 stars Very bad gps.......2007-06-27

Must to wait for a long time for pre-position, very slowly calculation and re-calculation, etc.. I returned this item through couple days and buy new one Garmin Nuvi 350 - this is great item, I really like it, probably best one on the market.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic! Dependable and Great Value !.......2007-06-20

I purchased the Lowrance 250C about a month again and I couldn't be happier. I was very pleased with the spread that I received the GPS and it was packed great.
I've been waiting awhile to give a review because I wanted to put it through it paces. I think I've done that now since I've used it on my trip from Tennesse to California. Not only did it handle the interstate driving and navigating well, but it has been simply FANTASTIC in LOS ANGELES! ...and that's one hard town to navigate in. The Lowrance is fast to generate a new route; however, it is a bit slow to acquire an initial signal. If you're running in and out of the car I'd suggest leaving it on battery while your out of the car.

As an example of the accuracy, we went to the Queen Mary while in Long Beach. I was in the parking lot getting ready to leave and needed to find the best way to the interstate. I noticed as I was leaving the 'parking lot' that it showed me exactly where I was at ...and where not talking 'roads'. These were parking lot 'lanes'.

I'll put my money down anytime on any Lowrance that holds to the quality of this unit. If all the Lowrance units are this good, I wouldn't even waste my time looking at Garmin or others. This has done it all and with almost no failures of any time. ....and $190 !!!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED AND I'D BUY IT WITHOUT HESITATION.

I can't say enough good things about it. Right on Lowrance!!!

Amazon.com Product Description

This major update to the popular 7105t brings the BlackBerry experience to a whole new level. The BlackBerry 8100 Pearl is not only thinner and lighter, it also sports a memory card slot, a music player, and voice dialing. Other features, such as Bluetooth 2.0, EDGE high-speed data, and the popular SureType keypad make this a complete mobile office solution. And of course, legendary BlackBerry push email is fully supported on the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl.

The SureType keypad makes the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl's diminutive size possible.

Learn more about the handheld. You can also see it in 3D.

A 1.3-megapixel camera is housed in the back.
Design
Like the BlackBerry 7105t, the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl is a departure from the form factor of previous BlackBerry devices. This BlackBerry handset is far more phone-like, and RIM's engineers have managed to fit a QWERTY keyboard onto the handset's slim frame. Each button on the keyboard shares two letters and the unit automatically determines which letter is the intended one based on what it predicts you are trying to spell. This unique predictive text technology, known as SureType, makes the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl's handset's diminutive size possible. SureType also learns the words you use most often, further enhancing your typing speed.

The BlackBerry 8100 Pearl sports a large 240 x 260 screen that supports over 65,000 colors-- plenty of real estate to view your e-mails, Web browser content, messaging sessions, and attachments. The venerable BlackBerry trackwheel has been replaced on this model with an innovative four-way trackball placed below the screen. On the rear of the handheld, you'll find a 1.3-megapixel camera and a self portrait mirror. The handheld's microSD memory card slot is located inside the device, behind the battery. There's also a standard 2.5mm headset jack that can be used with the included headset, as well as a mini-USB port for data connectivity.

Calling Features
All the calling capabilities folks have come to expect in a wireless phone are present in the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl. The handset's speakerphone makes it easy to use the device hands-free, or if you prefer, you can use a wireless headset via the BlackBerry 8100 handheld's built-in Bluetooth capability. A vibrating alert, speed dial, and a contacts list/address book (limited only by the unit's 64 MB of internal memory) are also included. Any of the phone's 32 included polyphonic ringtones can be used to create caller-specific ringers, so you can know who's calling without having to look at the handset. More ringtones are available from T-Mobile's t-zones mobile Web service. A new feature, speaker independent voice dialing, allows you to call contacts with the sound of your voice. No prior voice training is required; you can just say a contact's name to call them.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
While the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl is a different kind of BlackBerry device, it still delivers the legendary BlackBerry e-mail experience. With BlackBerry service plans from T-Mobile, you can receive e-mails instantaneously from up to 10 e-mail accounts (personal and enterprise). With BlackBerry push technology, you don't need to retrieve your e-mail. BlackBerry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, allowing you to be discreetly notified as new e-mail arrives. Support is also built-in for viewing e-mail attachments (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, and PDF formats).

If your company has a BlackBerry Enterprise Server installed, you can take advantage of the power of wireless calendar synchronization. Your calendar events are exchanged wirelessly and automatically so that your desktop calendar and BlackBerry handheld calendar are synchronized. All your Outlook meeting requests, changes, and updates are instantaneously synchronized instantaneously with your desktop. Make meeting requests, invite new attendees, and more, all on your BlackBerry 8100 Pearl. Users without BlackBerry Enterprise Server support can manually sync with their desktop calendars and contacts via Bluetooth or USB using the included BlackBerry Desktop Software.

Use the BlackBerry 8100 handset's Web browser to access the Internet from the palm of your hand. Browse Web sites, get up-to-date stock quotes, read the latest news, check weather reports, and more--all at fast speeds, thanks to support for T-Mobile's EDGE high speed data network. Instant messaging and wireless messaging are also built into the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl. The handheld supports AOL, Yahoo, and ICQ instant messaging, as well as SMS text messaging. MMS messages can be received and forwarded.

The BlackBerry 8100 Pearl ships with a number of tools, including a calculator, a calendar, an alarm, and a to-do list.

Imaging and Entertainment
The BlackBerry 8100 Pearl really kicks the fun up a notch with the inclusion of a 1.3-megapixel camera that features an LED flash and white balance controls. How about some music? The handheld's music player supports playback of your tunes in MP3, AAC, AAC+, and eAAC+ formats. The handheld is also compatible with Java application and game downloads (available via the t-zones service).

Vital Statistics
The BlackBerry 8100 Pearl weighs 3.16 ounces and measures 4.2 by 2.00 by 0.57 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 3.5 hours of digital talk time and up to 360 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequencies. The phone comes with a one-year limited warranty.

4 out of 5 stars Its Ok.......2007-07-01

This phone is def. not worth the $250 I paid for it. It freezes up all the time. Its so overly complicated. I cant even add a signiture to my text messages!!

5 out of 5 stars Best phone I've had.......2007-06-29

I've been using the pearl for around 3 months and have been very happy with it. I get 3 different email accounts on the phone including my clender from work. The keyboard is a little tough to use, but its a fair tradeoff for size. The phone has some great features like mp3 and video. I usually keep 2-3 full length movies in case I am stuck waiting in line or on a plane. The internet connection isn't super fast, but its adequite to get maps or do searches. Physically, I think this is the nicest looking phone on the market. Super sharp screen and a nice feel. I recommend this phone to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars BB-Pearl.......2007-06-28

This is my first Blackberry, It is really an amazing product from RIM. I am quite happy with the product. The media player quality is great. Navigation roller is a great concept it just mimics the mouse.

5 out of 5 stars Great phone, great customer service from T-Mobile.......2007-06-28

I have to say I was very impressed with all of the features this Blackberry has. What impressed me the most was the size! A full Blackberry with the size of a small cellphone, love it. T-Mobile helped me get set up and they were very polite and helpful, and their coverage is pretty strong in my area. Email and web access is pretty fast on this phone, and call quality is also pretty good. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way about this phone is the glossy finish that seems to show off every fingerprint. Other than that, very satisfied.

1 out of 5 stars Beware.......2007-06-23

Don't choose T-Mobile. I live in Sacramento Ca. I had no coverage in my home. I could never even finish the Blackberry set-up. I also traveled in Minnesota, When I got off the plane at Minneapolis International airport (a major airline hub)I had no coverage there either. I had to use a land line! I used a total of 16 mins. I cancelled within the trial period and was still charged $51.00. Save your money and go with one of the major carriers. I will wait for the i phone.

2 out of 5 stars No Route Capability.......2007-06-16

Just got a return note from Garmin Support. Although advertised as having Routes and waypoints, it just isn't so. Using MapSource on your computer (which you must request) leaves something to be desired. After all the hassle of learning MapSource(not worth getting into here), I uploaded the Routes and Waypoints. In the favorites, just the waypoints appear. Figured I was doing something wrong. Contacted Garmin. They confirmed. The Nuvi 660 (and the C530) does not support routes. So, if you wish to plan trips before going on them, forget Garmin. I'm looking elsewhere, and looking to return my (daughters presents) units.
Too be fair, the C530 unit seems excellent for just getting from here to there. The Nuvi 660 is not worth the extra $300. The MP3 player only works over an FM transmitter (poor), and only handles MP3. No M4A (I could understand the M4P problem, but not the M4A).

5 out of 5 stars The best gift ever.......2007-06-14

I bought this as a gift for my retired parents (73 and 69). It is uncomplicated and easy to use. The voice is clear, the letters and symbols large. They just used it on a trip to California. They told me the Garmin saved their marriage! It never steered them wrong. Would definitely recommend this to anyone. My parents are native German speakers, so we changed the language to German -- which they think is the coolest ever. Great product!

5 out of 5 stars The Great Garmin C530.......2007-06-13

My son-in-law had one and I was going on a long trip to NY and Canada. His seemed so easy to program that I thought it might be good for me to have on my trip. I bought one. It is the best thing since sliced bread. Wow! It took me to places that I know I would never find on a map. We went to a Winery . . . I still don't know where it is . . . but the Garmin c530 got me there and back without any trouble. I almost ran out of gas at one point. I punched in fuel and it took me from an interstate to a small town and asked me if I wanted to continue my trip after. I said "Yes" and when I finished it told me to turn here and there and suddenly I was back on the Interstate with a full tank of gas. I am in awe about its performance. I highly recommend it for anyone traveling in the US or Canada. I should be a salesman for Garmin because I tell everyone about it and I don't get any commission. LOL.

5 out of 5 stars Simple GPS Navigator.......2007-06-11

The Garmin StreetPilot c530 is a simple GPS navigation system. It adopts quickly if you chose to deviate from the route it picks. It gives ample warning for up coming turns so that you do not need Street Names. Its lack of announcing street names, lack of use as a cell phone or iPod makes it a pleasure to use it for the one thng it was designed for; Get from Here to There. The friction base (available from Garmin not the one Amazon incorrectly claims it will work with) is easy to move from car to car and to reposition so that it does not interfere with driving.
