This clock radio is the easiest one I've ever had to program. Everything is clearly marked, the time is automatically set according to your time zone, and the dual alarm system is simple and quick to set. I highly recommend this item for those who are low tech types like me.

Sony has refined the basic clock radio to near perfection with this one. Two alarms, with simple controls to turn on and off. A weekend button, to disengage both. Simple controls for everything. Good sound for a little cube. Nicely done.

We've always had trouble getting a good reception with our clock radios, but not with this one. Reception is crystal clear, and this clock radio has lots of great features to boot (such as a nap timer, dual alarms, and more). I can only give it four stars out of five, though, because the display is simply too bright, even on the "low" setting, especially when you have the alarm function turned on. It's like having a night light right next to my bed, and I prefer the room to be completely dark when I'm going to sleep. I'll keep using it, though.

Best shower radio ever.......2007-06-27

After owning several inexpensive shower readios over the past 10 years, I finally decided that I could no longer deal with poor reception and performance. I am thrilled with this radio. Not only is it nice in appearance, it delivers. In both power, and reception, this radio pulls in stations I can not even pick up on my home audio system. Easy install, easy operation. Could not be happier with my selection.

shower radio cleans up.......2007-06-08

This is a replacement for a Sony that served me well for many years. This is a feature rich unit that is easy to set up and use. Sound quality is good. Reception for marginal signals ok. It has some features that I will probably never use, but it is all I could ask for in a shower radio.

Finally, a decent shower radio!.......2007-05-23

A couple of years ago my wife bought me some no-brand shower radio that never worked right. It could only tune in a couple stations and the clock never kept time. I recently decided it was time to get a 'real' shower radio and I'm very happy that I chose this one. It pulls in lots of stations, the clock and display are great, it is easy to use, and it is well made.

The only negative is that the sound sometimes sounds a little muffled, which I'm guessing is due to the waterproof speaker. It's not too bad though and shouldn't discourage you from purchasing this great product.

Sangean Shower Radio.......2007-05-16

Overall I am satisfied with this purchase and would buy it again. This is the 2nd Sangean radio I've purchased and both have met or exceeded my expectations but they are not cheap. You pretty much get what you pay for.

This radio has a solid feel, nothing flimsy about it and I like the way that the handle rotates down to hide in the back. This radio has good sound for the size, no complaints, but it is not great. This is not a boom box so you are not going to hear it across the backyard but it fills a room nicely. It is great for the bathroom and can be heard over the shower.

I like the digital controls with the station presets. It would be nice to have more than 5 per band but for me that is a minor fault.

The radio has reasonable reception even with the antenna stowed away. When the antenna is extended the reception is very good. Note, the antenna is not the telescoping type but is a wire that is stowed near the battery compartment when not in use. In some ways this is less convenient but on the other hand it is easier to hide the extended antenna. For use in the bath or bedroom I personally like this style antenna better than the telescoping type.

The built in single white LED flashlight is reasonably bright and will come in handy in an emergency or camping. There is also an alarm siren that emits a piercing sound but ... why? Perhaps to annoy the cat.

The radio has a clock, a convenient timer, and an auto off sleep timer but no built in alarm clock. This isn't really a travel radio but for car camping trips I plan on bringing it and an alarm clock would potentially be useful but that is a minor fault.

For me this is a nice portable that is good for Bath, bedroom, kitchen, and listening to ball games in the garage.

I spent a lot of time reviewing other waterproof shower radios, and this one seemed to have a lot of customer satisfaction. I've been using this radio for about 4 weeks now. Such a big improvement of the previous radio I was using. The sound quality is very good and the signal reception is excellant. I use it in the basement bathroom and even tucked away in the shower in the basement, it manages to pull in the stations I had trouble receiving with the previous radio. Very nice.

I have had this product for about 2 months, and so far it has worked flawlessly.
It would be nice if they offered models with a bigger memory than 32mb. but for the price, this is a great deal.

The quality of the radio reception is very high, in the closed places there is no interferance on the radio, its quite good.The backlight of lcd screen is blue and difficult to read while moisture on the screen!.The player's memory is just 32 Mbytes and it is sufficient for bath time(approx.half an hour) cd quality music, you can save only 5 or 6 tracks to listen.You can buy 128/256 MB version PAVIT from the manufacturer if you want to spend more money to listen long time music.Overall,radio is good, mp3 player's memory is not enough. If you are using shower it's ok.Battery life is normal (15 days), because that.. while in the shower, you need to pump up the volume.

Best MP3 Shower Radio.......2006-04-05

Even though the Pavit drive only holds about 8 mp3's, as the previous reviewer noted, it's more than enough time. For a longer soak, you can simply start it up again. I bought it entirely for its mp3 capability and water resistance and I find these overpower the weaknesses:

1. Sound isn't great, but the volume can go rather high.

2. I do wish it had an AC adapter. But, considering this is in the bathroom, it isn't a good idea anyway. I've yet to buy new batteries after 3 weeks, but I have not used the radio consistently.

3. The repeat function should have the option to repeat the playlist, not only a single track.

4. When the USB drives with more megs come along, you will want to program the tracks. This option is sadly missing.

Despite these faults, this is currently the best mp3 shower radio for the price. And, of course, you can use the USB drive to store photos, documents, etc., then come back to use the software to transfer the mp3's for the radio.

Great Shower Radio!.......2006-01-14

Originally, I had planned on buying a Sony shower radio w/ a CD player for around $100. They were out of stock and w/ the MP3 market these days, I decided on this radio. It does hold about 8 full length songs on it. Uploading songs to the device from your computer is really easy: it just takes a few mouse clicks and about 30 seconds. The radio itself is loud and has good sound quality. AIWA just unveiled their 128MB & 256MB Removable Storage Media devices a few weeks ago so those should be available very soon for those who aren't satisfied with the 32MB. I would highly recommend this to anyone. You can take it anywhere with you.

Very good MP3/Radio shower unit.......2005-10-27

I've been looking for a water resistant FM radio when I stumbled across this unit at Amazon.com. It was on sale for $29.99 and it comes with a built-in 32MB Pavit MP3 player. Who can beat that? I immediately purchased one unit and it's currently hanging in my shower. Very nice. The sound is really good considering the size of the unit. And I love the ability that the Pavit USB drive can be taken out of the system for MP3 file transfer. Aiwa is currently making the 128MB and 256MB USB drive so you can exchange your flash drive easily (I can't wait until they're available).

The user interface is easy to learn. Although, I found the button to be so hard to press. They probably design it that way for the water resistant feature. The small mono LCD screen features 3 lines which shows important info of the system as well as the MP3 file song + artist name or radio station information.

Again, as I say, who can beat the $29.99 price. I would buy this unit for double the price. Get it while you still can. The only reason drawback of the unit that I can think of is its 32MB flash drive. With 32MB, I can only copy about 8 songs at a time. Although to think about it, whoever spends more than 8 songs (about 30 minutes) in a shower is probably a slacker :)

Waste of Landfill Space - Do Not Buy This Product.......2007-01-27

The radio worked for just six months before it inexplicably died. In that time, it went through a ton of batteries, which was particularly annoying, because a screwdriver is required to open the battery casing. And the memory buttons are a joke - you have to press multiple buttons to change the channel, then the on/off button twice to turn the thing off when done...after the first month, and after changing the batteries, I gave up on that feature altogether.

Amazon should pull this product.

Having read other reviews on this radio I feel lucky that my purchase lasted at least 7 monthes before it went dead. Once stung is enough. I'll never buy another Jensen product again.

Defective Right Out of the Box.......2006-12-31

Right out of the box, the LCD display was missing segments of each number so it was almost impossible to read the frequency setting, and oddly you cannot read the display at all if the radio is positioned above your line of sight as it would be if attached to a shower. While I did get the radio to play, one local FM station could be heard across about half of the FM dial, and all FM stations had a loud hum in the background. I cannot imagine how Jensen could put their name on this piece of junk.

The battery life for this radio is unacceptable. About 1-hour per day use will kill a set of batteries in about 2-weeks. To add insult to injury, all programming is lost when the batteries are changed and reprogramming is less than friendly.

Wish I had read the reviews here before I bought it (from another website). This is a piece of junk. Yes, the item is listed as "splash resistant" but it's also listed as being a SHOWER radio. One would assume that it would therefore #1) be used in the shower, and #2) GET WET. But God forbid you actually GET it wet. We've had this for ONE WEEK and it died - same as other reviews...poor volume (when it got wet) and it couldn't keep the volume at a steady level (we kept having to turn it WAY up and then all of a sudden it would be REALLY loud). And the battery compartment is now completely rusted. The buttons on this were also impossible to use and the display is hard to see (black on blue does not work). We bought digital so we could find stations easier. Spend your money on a regular ole' tuner...our previous one lasted 3 years.

It's had to imagine a product doing its advertised task any worse. You can't see what station is tuned in, it wanders from station to station, the buttons are hard to push, and the reception is awful. The folks who sell this must be fresh out of snake oil.

Currently, it no longer tunes in any stations. I'm just waiting for my Sony to arrive.

if i was able to rate this item with negative stars, i would have. once you turn the bug off, you have to find the station you listened to all over again. the reception is terrible. the suction cups dont suck to the wall. basically its a piece. dont waste your money!

Cheezy as cheezy can be. The only feature I liked was that this item could be returned! The sound was terrible, not easy to tune, flimsy design and the gimmick to have it look like a bug was only cute if you are 10 years old. This thing is junk and not worth the price of the batteries it requires. Mine was promptly returned.

Did not function well.......2007-01-04

The little radio does not have the ability for station lock-in. Every time it is turned on it reverts to a station set at the manufacturer. Since there are no indicators or displays it is annoying and time consuming having to constantly reset the station(s). It also has lousy reception and lots of static can be heard when the radio is on.

Disappointing.......2007-03-08

I am thoroughly displeased with this clock radio.

The alarm is a tone that is quite startling and there is no way the radio can play for the alarm function.

The weather band feature does not function and I live 19 miles from the nearest transmitter. The terrain is nearly line of sight with barely any elevation obstructions. I have a couple of scanners that receive NOAA weather broadcasts very well in comparison.

The illuminated front might be adjustable in brightness, but even in low setting it still functions as a good night light and is not pleasing for sleeping.

A disappointment.......2007-02-12

I bought two of these for kitchen and bathroom because I like to listen to NPR while I go from room to room in the mornings. I have a couple of old, bulky clock radios for this purpose, but they are ugly and hard to tune. If someone touches the tuning dial, I have to spend 15 minutes to get my station back. So I thought this pretty little digital tuner was the answer. While they were nicer to look at, the reception was horrible. Since it was impossible to pick up my preferred stations, I had to return them (at my expense).

If you're looking for a ultra cheap clock radio with abysmal sound quality from the radio..this is it. Wasn't expecting Bose quality, but still. The most annoying feature is the blue backlight. I have to throw a towel over it just to get to sleep.

The display is much too bright, even dimmed to the lowest setting. I felt like I was trying to sleep with a flashlight shining on me.

The digital tuner works great though. I moved this radio to my kitchen and bought a new, less-bright alarm clock.

THIS ISA VERY GOOD SHOWER RADIO/MIRROR/CD PLAYER... IT IS TRUELY THE BEST FOR ITS PRICE HANDS DOWN..ALL THE OTHER CHEAPER SHOWER RADIOS ARE POINTLESS AND NOT WORTH YOUR TIME NEVERTHELESS YOUR MONEY. IT IS HARD TO GET A CLEAR STATION IN THE SHOWER BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE DIGITAL TUNNING, SO YOU WILL BE LIMITED TO MAYBE 5 FM STATIONS. THE MIRROR LIVES UP TO ITS MEANING OF FOGLESS. I HAVE NOT USED THE CD PLAYER BECAUSE I CAN SEE SOME WATER GETS INSIDE WHEN THERE IS A CONSTANT STREAM OF WATER HITTING THE RADIO. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU HANG IT WITH THE CORD PROVIDED BEHIND YOUR SHOWER HEAD. IT ALSO COMES WITH THE NECESSARY SCREWS TO FASTEN IT TO THE WALL (I WOULD NEVER DO THAT BECAUSE I AM NOT THAT HANDY TO MAKE HOLES IN CERAMIC TILES)...SO IN CONCLUSION THIS IS A MUST HAVE AND DON'T LOOK FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND $85-$120 AT BROOKSTONE OR SHARPER IMAGE.

I love the look of this item. It's a nicely built and sturdy little JEEP product.

The anti-fog mirror is great, but could be a little better - I still have to wipe it off with my hand fairly often.

Radio and CD player both work very well, but the sound is quite "tinny". I REALLY wish it had better speakers... I suppose that is hard to do since it is made to be used in a shower environment, but still...

Also, digital tuning for the radio and a digital clock would be a great improvement.

Overall, I like the product, but it could definitely use some changes - most of all BETTER SOUND QUALITY!!

Buy a Different Shower Radio.......2007-01-14

I have owned this radio for a few years, and have these complaints:

-Battery life sucks. I stopped using the CD feature because the batteries would run out so fast, but even without playing CDs the batteries last only 3 months with the radio being used for less than 15 minutes/day. It takes SIX C-batteries, so it gets expensive.

-The "light" feature is useless. There is a button to press that is supposed to illuminate the LCD display to show the time or station. It illuminates the LCD display from each side with a little light, rather than backlighting the LCD display. It does not make seeing the LCD any easier.

-Poor station memory tuning. The only way to cycle through the stored stations is to press a button which goes one way through the stations. For example, if you are listening to the station stored in slot one, then go up to the station in slot two, the only way to go back to station one is to cycle through station three, four, five, etc. until you hit ten and then one again. Annoying!

-I found the reception to be ok, but not great.

-The radio is a bit large. Granted it has a CD player, but it still seems very large for a shower.

I finally bought a new shower radio - one with no CD player since I didn't use it anyway - and am much happier and richer because I don't have to replace the batteries all the time!

Only lasted a short time.......2006-03-08

This radio only worked well for about 6 months, then it died. I replaced the batteries with brand new ones, and it still wouldn't work. It was never dropped, but stopped working. I only got some of the stations, it couldn't pick up a lot of them. It is a little big and bulky, especially for the shower area. I've had other radios (non shower type) for 15 years and never had a problem. I would never buy another one for the shower, they just don't last.

Broke right of the box.......2005-01-04

I got this as a Xmas gift and it has yet to work right. I tried using it in the bathroom and for the first 5min the radio actually worked then nothing, just shut off. I haven't been able to turn it on since then. Neither radio or CD function will turn on which is odd considering the clock and backlight function still work fine. Don't know if there's some special buttons I'm supposed to be using besides the On/Off one. Also the model doesn't appear on the Jensen website, am planning on exchange for another model.

Does anyone know if this item plays burned CD's? Doesn't say anything about CD-R/RW/MP3 playback, so I would asssume it will not be compatible with recorded discs....can anyone verify that for me?
