Save space and get all your entertainment needs fulfilled by the Symphonic WF803 DVD/VCR combo unit, which features a multi-format DVD player and complete VHS recording capabilities. The four-head VCR's clock time conveniently sets itself when the unit is used within range of a PBS broadcast station. Other VCR features include automatic rewind at the end of a tape, sleep and wake-up timers. The VCR features automatic head cleaning and a 1-year, 8-event recording timer. In addition to programmable timer recording and daily and weekly timed recording, one-touch timed recording of anywhere from 30 to 480 minutes.

The single-disc DVD player is also compatible with video that you burn to DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs, as well as audio (both CD and MP3 format) burned to CD-R/RW discs. You can also scan through movies at 100x normal speed, and view DVDs in slow motion, in both forward and reverse as well as frame by frame. It offers virtual surround sound as well as a coaxial digital audio output for Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound via a stereo receiver. It features the following video connections:

Broke after having it for a year!!!.......2006-03-21

there are some good things and BAD things about this dvd/vcr unit.
Good: It plays DVD-R (burned dvds)with out any problems and subtitles were easily available.
Bad: It won't remember where your paused or stopped dvd is after about 10 minutes.
Really Bad: The DVD player stopped playing any discs only after a year of using it. It would just say an error message about the disc being unreadable. It only has a 1 year warranty.

Attracted by the low price, I bought two of these. Neither on ever played a movie through completely. I sent the units for service twice, once to a local repair place and the second time to Funai. The local repair place said these units are terrible and that the company is unreliable. They were not able to fit it. The company return the units to me again nonworking.
Like the others reviews, I suggest you to STAY AWAY!!

Beware!.......2005-07-16

I purchased this unit about 1.5 years ago. Both dvd and vcr played well for about 1 year. Then the dvd player stopped reading the dvds. I cleaned the unit and it still didn't help. For awhile you could watch the dvd and half way through the movie it would just freeze up. The machine would be really hot. You could turn it off, the machine would cool off and then try again. The same thing would happen. NOW, nothing happens. When you put the disc in, it does nothing. It just makes a clicking sound... The vcr works fine. No problem with it eating the tapes as others have. I am very annoyed, because now I have a vcr that works, with the dvd that doesn't. I don't want to stack another dvd player on top or to the side, and I hate to throw away a vcr that works fine...

I have 2 of these players. I had the first one for 1 year and liked it so much I got another one a year later for my bedroom! I have yet to have one problem with mine. I do however watch more DVD's than tapes, but haven't had any problems when I do watch VHS or record shows.

Don't wate your money!.......2005-06-16

This unit works fine for several months and then My unit, as others have found, will stop reading the dvd's. VHS tapes still work fine although I've seen other posts, even here, say that it's a tape eater. BUY SOMETHING ELSE!!! DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
