About the Artist
As a small child my mother and I had Bible Studies together. I know that it was through her fervent prayer that God had a plan for my life.I am one of 11 children raised in the projects on the south side of Chicago. I started smoking marijuana and using alcohol at age 13. My schooling was thus affected and my grades began to drop. I missed graduating high school by 1/4 of a credit. At 18, I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where I served 4 years, completed my GED, served in an elite fighting force called "The Super Squad", and traveled the world. However, because of my addictions I was finally kicked out of the service in 1984. A few years later I returned to Chicago and took with me a huge crack addiction which ruined my life. I lost many good jobs, including one with the Chicago Stock Exchange, and it ruined my marriage and self-respect. That addiction lasted 13 years! While attending a local church in Chicago my pastor became aware of my struggles and one day handed me the telephone number to Teen Challenge. I entered Teen Challenge on March 10,1997 and gave my life to God. My first day there God took away my 21-year desire for drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. I thank my God everyday for giving me a second chance. I originally joined Teen Challenge to get rid of my addictions but in the process I have fallen in love with Jesus Christ! He has given me true freedom. God has blessed me with two full time jobs and uses me to bless others. One of those jobs includes being on staff at Milwaukee Teen Challenge as an intern. I donate time to the "Kids in The Hood" where I tutor math and I've done some volunteer work at Rawhide Boys Ranch as well as Trinity Equestrian Center. I have recently created AWC Youth Ministry which is a performing Gospel ministry located in Wisconsin.

The second solo album from Steve Vai shows the guitarist coming into his own as a composer, matching his prodigious talent as a performer. The result is an entertaining mix. The hilarious "Audience is Listening" complements more reflective pieces such as "For the Love of God." The high-powered "Animal" and "Greasy Kid's Stuff" are balanced by "Blue Powder" and "Alien Water Kiss." Unlike most guitar-god solo recordings, Passion & Warfare avoids the sort of technical noodling that is uninteresting to everyone except other guitarists, opting instead for a collection of high-quality music that is full of compositional experimentation without ever getting out of control. --Genevieve Williams

5 out of 5 stars If you had to choose one CD Vai, this is it........2007-06-02

If you are buying your first Vai CD, and you had to choose only one to start with, this IS the one.

This release features a very wide range of Steve's styles, from ballads like "Sisters" to dirty grooves like "The Animal" to epic guitar masterpieces like "For the Love of God".

But perhaps the most interesting track is "The Riddle". This song explores an endless terrain of guitar emotions and the composition is extremely full. The closer you listen to it, the more tracks and guitar sounds you start hearing, a definite headphone must!

Some material on here, like The Riddle is conjured up from Steve's imagination and "dreams" of out-of-body experiences with aliens, pixies, and more.

Another interesting note is that Steve actually fasted (went without food) for several days before recording the track For The Love of God, as an expression of dedication to his spiritual devotion through music itself, one could say.

This is not just technical guitar prowess - this is a very deep exploration of all the possibilities on a guitar, and it pushes the envelope of instrumental imagination. It is this particular release that made me realize that Steve Vai is not a guitar player, he is a living breathing extentsion of the instrument itself. You will not be disappointed!

5 out of 5 stars Breathtaking.......2007-02-20

I've owned this masterpiece for many years, and just "rediscovered" it over the weekend, after letting it gather dust for awhile. I used to listen to it almost daily. My boyfriend had never heard it before and he fell in love with it instantly. This instrumental album says more than anything with lyrics, as Vai's guitar picks you up and takes you on an evocative journey from one emotion to another, in every corner of the spectrum. "For the Love of God" makes me want to weep, as I've always envisioned a movie about betrayal and loss playing through my head when I hear it. "Greasy Kid Stuff" is another stand-out piece, evoking images of a chase from land, to sea, to air. These are just two small samples of the treasure to be found on this disc, where the maestro makes his guitar giggle, talk, and wail with the depths of human emotion. I just plain FEEL everything in full technicolor when this album is playing. This is not an album one hears; it is one that is experienced. The only flaw I've ever been able to find with it is that it's not 80 hours long.

5 out of 5 stars Reality Bites.......2007-02-02

It must be so frustrating for Vai, one of the greatest guitarist's ever, to see his work get basically financially and critically spat on while tool boxes like C.C. Deville (Poison), Mick Mars (Motley Crue), and J.J. French (Twisted Sister) go Triple Platty on multiple albums. Life can be as brutal as a Kip Winger dance routine. How this guitar guru isn't clinically depressed is beyond me.

5 out of 5 stars A rock guitar classic.......2007-01-13

An absolute classic. Anyone who negatively criticises this album certainly doesn't understand the concept of melody or harmony. In the guitar world there's good noodling and bad noodling - this is a masterpiece, the perfect balance of technique, melody and soul. The end of the shred genre came about with the 90s pop/punk movement - those who "sucked and were proud of it"...
It was actually a good thing - it filtered out alot of fret w*nkers as the guitar scene was very watered down.. Vai wannabes, Satch, Van Halen wannabes... the list goes on - BUT the good players also got a rap in the process. Nevertheless the true players are still going strong and have never sold out regardless. Vai is one of them...
If you don't understand this album I urge you to give it another listen or two. Every note counts..

4 out of 5 stars Commercial highpoint.......2006-07-22

The stocks of this ex Frank Zapppa/Alcatrazz/David Lee Roth six stringer were never highter. his street cred due to the Zappa connection was considerable to those in the know, who had followed him sinse the Flexible days. He had paid his dues in Alcatrazz and had a very public profile due to his association with Diamond Dave at the height of his solo powers. The time was right to strike and Vai did so with an eclectic mix of blistering runs, experimental bleeps and tweets and cool cameo numbers. Vai could of just put out a shred album and it would of sold - heck he could of put out acoustic versions of Estonian carpenters songs and it would of sold. He didn't quite go that far, but he did the brave thing and put out an album that wasn't a run of the mill guitar shred album. This is Vai coaxing all sorts of noises out of his Ibanez seven string, the sort of wailing, acrobatic playing that you would barely think possible, let along commercially viable.

So for guitar nuts this is almost an essential purchase. If you only buy on Vai album just to check out what all the fuss is about make it this one, the mans mainstream high point and for good reason. That's not to say the man didn't come in for some criticism at the time. Australias' Hot Metal magazine wrote him off, the reviewer stating 'the whole Steve Vai high priest of guitar' schtick was vomit inducing. And he was rightly hassled for things like 'thanks Ibanez, thanks God' but then maybe Hot Metal rightly had it's nose out of joine since Vai had refused to be interviewed for the magazine unless they'd guarantee him the cover! In the end they got around him by getting an interview from a freelance journalist.

Anyway, the music on this disc is just about all off on a tangent, perhaps the most accessable points coming when Vai allows some human connectivity to come into the mix on the amusing throw away tune The Audience is Listening. Elsewhere tunes such as The Riddle define for the listener much of what is exactly right and exactly wrong with Vai records. And prospective buyers should probably try to listen to at least a sample of this track to determine if this stuff is for them.

Extra credit to Vai for the fact that he appears to have made sure that everyone got credit where it was due - individually crediting musicians on each and every track. and the guy obviously took full responsibility for this album rising or falling, utilising his multi instrumentalist skills and also producing the whole shebang.

Most of my mates at the time bought this album. But often they played it is another matter. On this release Vai's positive image and talent got people to see past the fact that he wasn't really playing proper songs, just cataloguing his skills. On most of his other releases the lack of humanity became all consuming.

Paul D. Miller, a.k.a. DJ Spooky, is a musician, writer, and conceptual artist from New York City. Trailblazing a new definition of environmental music, Spooky reconstructs sonic data and produces sounds of a futuristic metropolis. A contextual agitator intent on artistic rebellion, Miller fuses urban rap and contemporary electronica. He imaginatively unites large chunks of hip-hop, unearthly jazz, and reggae beats with ambient soundscapes. Besides using drum programs and interludes of spoken word, Spooky is joined by several talented musicians. Featuring Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and trumpeter Ben Neill as well as rappers like Kool Keith and Killah Priest, Riddim Warfare is Miller's most ambitious undertaking to date. Displaying ability on bass guitar and a mastery of the studio, DJ Spooky makes music for the next millennium. --Mitch Myers

2 out of 5 stars Hardly anything substantial amidst lavish disc jockey excess.......2007-03-13

2 1/2

Eclectic and eccentric electronic stew is not quite the assured album it wishes to be, usually substituting genuine compositional strength for heavy, self-absorbed sampling that does more to highlight Spooky's technical abilities then offer anything as mind blowing as most of these track are attempting to be. I also feel that, although the lazy hip-hop element may help, somehow this album's sad stressing of a lackluster originality, opting towards offbeat, does nothing for this Dj's limited though noticeable talent. In the electronic world Spooky is one of the few DJ's who actually warrants some kind of name recognition. In the bland niche of record spinners, this scratcher stands further out still, always stressing a depth usually unseen with most carrying the shallow moniker. With his hungry palate never settling on any particular style for too long, overambitiousness still clearly outweighs these somewhat fun, intelligent, though empty mix-ups in mostly bombastic distraction masking precious little substance. At 21 tracks, what we are left with is an obnoxious sound collage that is way more filler then killer.

5 out of 5 stars A Little Experimentalism.....(Can go a long Way!!!!).......2005-10-20

Dj Spooky is someone that has had a hand in a multitude of aspects of Hip-Hop/Electronic music. He's a Turntablist, arranger, Producer & musician. And he invariably has a very diverse selection of musical influences (spanning a great many genres, everything from Classical, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Rock, Techno, etc...), which invariably influence the creation of his music. What this means is that because he is (in theory) an experimentlist with his music, most listeners will find that there is very little continuity in his albums, with some albums sometimes displaying massive leaps in accessibility, sound, moody and even genre. And you find that what attracted you to a particular album/release of his, may not be applicable for the next.

"Riddim Warfare" is arguably an album, that although primarily a 'Beat - Orientated' album, that is a very diverse album, its an album that See's Spooky cast his net further afield and includes a disparate collection of figures from the Hip-Hop, Indie, Rap worlds (everyone from, Rappers "Killah Priest", "Kool Keith", "Organised Konfusion", Sonic Youths - "Thurston Moore", Rock Experimentalist "Arto Lindsay" and shoehorns them all into an album that takes the concept of being primarily beat-driven, and touches upon: Electronica, Breakbeat, Dub, Trip-Hop, Drum 'n' Bass, Techno, Hip-Hop, Illbient & Experimental and electronic avant-garde.

Its an album that skips rather erratically from genre to genre, without much consideration from what went before, and tracks are sometimes interspersed and broken up with dialogue ranging from stream-of-consciousness thoughts and observations. Which although separating tracks nicely, will irritate some listeners, but others (such as myself) will be familiar with Spooky's trait for adding intellectual (pretentious??) statements in his music. And although the album is more a musical kaleidoscopic of experiments that generally do lean towards a more speedy fusion of manic sounds and fiery breakbeats, there is a decidedly futuristic / Avant-garde approach, with some tracks actually revelling in sublime downtempo trip-hop, and elements of illibent, where atmospheric pastiches of ambient noise, Dub, Jazz and eerily unpredictable sounds ("Polyphony of One"), are all spread, and intergrated throughout the album. But that just makes up part of an album with many sides....for instance, tracks such as "Object Unknown" are futuristic rap-tracks (in this case featuring "Kool Keith"), that merge fantastic, high-speed lyrics with tech-step styled breakbeat. And indeed "Rekonstruction" takes a more dense and paranoid-orientated sound, with 'Organised Konfusion' brilliantly guesting on vocals. Or if your feeling the need for something decidedly more kinetic and intense, then the jungle styled breaks of "Scientifik" & "Dialectical Transformation III (Soylent Green)" will more than suffice. But such is the nature of Spooky's work, he doesn't sit with any one genre for too long, and "Roman Planetaire" & "Theme of the Drunken Sailor", see's him brilliantly skirting with Dub-reggae /Experimental-Dub.

And Spooky himself, makes his presence felt with the transitions between some tracks that are virtually seamless, and using his considerable skill as a D.j. to provide scratching that may be considered unconventional, but sat within the context of the atmospheric instrumentals and cerebral sound collages, and beat-driven tracks, it works too brilliant effect. This is an album that anyone considering purchasing should make sure they know what they're getting. This is a album with a 'restless spirit', and contradicts itself on virtually every turn, on one hand it seems incapable of remaining structured, and just as you're becoming settled in, it changes direction and runs in the opposite direction, yet its approach and direction is something uniquely different and deserves recognition. on another hand, It doesn't exactly make itself easily accessible, and the sometimes articulate, cerebral approach, is shattered by furious breakbeat fusions, that are nothing particuarly intelligent, but remain beautifully produced beat-electronica. The lack of chorrence throughout the album merely reinforces this, yet it's certainly not an album designed for mainstream consumption (like pretty much all of Spooky's albums), so it's more a album that you'll grow into, rather than immediately accept. And as much as this album owes a massive debt to Hip-Hop, it's frequent excursions into breakbeat / Drum 'n' Bass, will repel those like for music to nod to in the car, and thus...should give this album a wide miss. But those that like (or indeed love) those two genres, will certainly appreciate Spooky's intergration in the album, which is near seamless. And at some 21 tracks and at over 70Min's long, this is an album that shouldn't be digested in one sitting. It's far too concentrated and intense, to fully enjoy in one go. But if you do what I do, and listen to chunks of the album (rather than in one go), it's truly remarkable what Spooky has done here. I have at least 5-6 Dj Spooky Albums, and I have to say that although this might not technically be his best album ("Songs of A Dead Dreamer", is widely considered his best), It find this amongst his most intriguing, and most imaginative. Its sacrifices immediacy and accessibility in favour of pushing the envelope both musically and creatively, and although I'd be more inclined to recommended this to Spooky fans that know what to expect, or those those like the occasionally breakbeat/D'n'B referencing album, or even people that like the idea of musicians messing with the structures, of Hip-Hop, then I can't reccommend this gem, highly enough.

2 out of 5 stars Overexpirimentationalism.......2004-04-14

I am largely disappointed with this album. Some of the reviews I have read hailed DJ Spooky's attempt to conjoin multpile genres with his expirimental style, but to me the result is an an incoherent bravado of noise. The only enjoyable tracks are those featuring guests such as Kool Kieth and Sir Menelik, but between Spooky's silly pseudo-intellectual music-science rationalizations and his overly filtered effects, it sounds less like music and more like someone having fun with a mixing board.

5 out of 5 stars Good thing it's digital.......2003-10-08

Otherwise I'd wear it out. Of the three Dj. Spooky Cd's
I have this is my favorite. It has the right amount of rapping
and enough smooth beats to make it pleasant to listen to. The other stuff i've heard of his is harsh and disjoint enough that you really have to be engaged with it to enjoy it. An earlier posting expressed their disdain for cool keith. I actually think he enhances the album. I've never like anything he has produced himself, but his voice works well with this sound. It's sometimes cheesy to hear peeps with philosophy backgrounds appropriate scientific terms to sound futuristic, but when Cool Keith does it on this album, it actually works.

4 out of 5 stars Made a good impression.......2003-03-28

This is my first and only DJ Spooky CD. I got it about a year ago because it was on Columbia House and I liked the samples.
Although I find myself skipping a few tracks, I like it enough to buy more DJ Spooky which I eventually will do since he has so many CD's.
I don't know DJ Spooky is for everyone. His music is very eclectic and a mix of just about everything. I like that, some may not.
I read a review that called him the "Pink Floyd of hip-hop". I think that's true, but I don't know if Pink Floyd fans would appreciate that.

3 out of 5 stars Solid release from Cash Money's prime (3.5/5).......2007-05-04

In 1999, Cash Money Records was releasing music at an incredible rate, and "Guerrilla Warfare" is one of a high volume of long LPs released by the Cash Money Millionaires during this period. While it's certainly not on the level of its contemporary classics like B.G.'s Chopper City in the Ghetto and Juvenile's 400 Degreez, it's a satisfying album showcasing New Orleans's premier hip hop collective. And this is certainly the album to get if you want to hear the Hot Boys as a group. At this point, Cash Money was at their commercial and creative peak, and they were just embracing their place at the top of hip hop while still years away from any consumer backlash. Rap purists can go on and on about how their unvaried subject matter makes them embarrassments to hip hop, but I'll always enjoy Hot Boys music. What they might lack in pure lyricism, B.G., Turk, Juvenile, and Lil Wayne make up in interesting flows, punchlines, style, and chemistry. There's so much talent in this quartet, they really are a supergroup in every sense of the word. Mannie Fresh's productions are usually the true gem of a Cash Money release, but that's not the case here. Mannie's signature bounce beats with soulful instrumentals and dense soundscapes usually steal the show, but the music is notably understated here, taking a backseat to the talented MCs rather than taking front and center like it might on, say, a Big Tymers release. Each rapper is such a likable individual, and each has so much charisma and talent that it more than carries the album. That said, the album is definitely too long, with a bloated tracklist of 17 tracks running in at just under the CD limit of 80 minutes, and too many songs break the five minute barrier. The production can be a little boring at times, blame it on the fact that Mannie Fresh, despite his musical genius, was the most overworked producer in hip hop history at this point. Overall, "Guerrilla Warfare" is a memorable release that's sure to continue pleasing the Cash Money crowd, like it already has for eight years.

After a typically entertaining intro by Big Tymers, the album starts with perhaps Hot Boys' most well known song, "We on Fire." This song embraces the Cash Money braggadocio and extravagance as good as any, and the four MCs show a chemistry and uniqueness that made them stars, over a great Mannie Fresh beat. "Respect My Mind" lyrically is not the most impressive, but as far as style and swagger are concerned, it's great, with a glitzy beat and each rapper displaying their distinctive flow. "Help" has frenetic beats and nice horn instrumentation, Mannie Fresh performs well. "Ridin'" showcases simple production and typical flossing on the part of Hot Boys, it's a solid song, if not a little underwhelming. "Get Out tha Way" has a nice hook, otherwise it's another decent song but not too distinctive. I like "Clear tha Set" for what it is, Lil Wayne's solo, even though it's not absolutely memorable, and I like "I Feel" a little less. "Boys at War" is okay, musically a little boring and too long, this period is the album's weakest point. Juvenile uses a repetitive, conversational flow like in his classic "Ha" on the likable "You Dig," which has some very nice production. The memorable single "I Need a Hot Girl" follows, a Cash Money standard. I think my favorite song is "Tuesday & Thursday," because lyrically it is creative and musically it is excellent, a fine signature styled beat my Mannie Fresh. "Bout Whatever" is pretty nice, and "Shoot 1st" is clever and entertaining, a definite highlight. "Too Hot" closes out the album in representative fashon.

"Guerrilla Warfare" showcases the strengths and weaknesses of Cash Money and the Hot Boys in top fashion. If you're new to Cash Money music, this might not be the best album to start with, but fans of the rappers should pick this up if they haven't already. This is an uneven yet memorable album, and in many cases one for the collection.

    Album Description

Maybe it was their punk pedigree which made the difference, but nobody's metal was tougher in the 80s than Warfare. No wonder Lemmy agreed to produce their legendary Metal Anarchy album, the best of which forms the core of this first-ever compilation. Singles, prime LP cuts and other rarities are joined by one of the loudest sessions ever broadcast by Radio One. 2002.

3 out of 5 stars Not a great compilation, but the best we've got........2005-12-30

If you're a big '80s metal fan, you may have at some point encountered someone trying to turn you on to Amebix claiming they are more metal than crust or that they sound like a non-Satanic Venom with more punk trappings or a metallicly supercharged Motorhead or any such nonsense (I assume these are the same kinds of morons responsible for slowly turning "grindcore" and "death metal" into synonymous terms). And if you were like me, when you first heard Amebix, it was just heavy crust/punk; perhaps at times similar to or approaching metal, but not there at all. Instead, the band they were really describing was Warfare. Compared to Tank, Venom, or Motorhead, the individual songs are often less distinctive and less memorable, although some odd covers (Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Robert Palmer?!?!?) and songs such as "New Age of Total Warfare" and "Metal Anarchy" stand out.

While nothing is wrong musically with this 2CD compilation, it has the unfortunate and ill-fated task of trying to span 4 albums, and some material is missing from each of the 4 first LPs. Sanctuary/Neat is somewhat covered since this is touted as a "Best of" and not a retrospective, but still--since this compilation is only of the band's Neat Rec. years, there's no material that's really overly bad, so getting more tracks from the first 1st, 2nd, and 4th albums while Mayhem F'kin Mayhem gets rather shafted isn't such a great victory.

It's unfortunate that some of the other Neat Rec. bands like Raven and Venom got individual CD reissues as well as 2-CD retrospectives/compilations. And unfortunately unlike the Atomkraft and Venom compilations, you can't buy other NWOBHM compilations or other releases by the artists to fill in the gaps, except for some EP tracks. Since I don't think the first and third albums were ever on CD (I believe I saw a "Metal Anarchy" bootleg, but if I'm wrong, add it to the list too) this is quite unfortunate.

At first I thought maybe Warfare might be too obscure or unpopular to warrant full reissues (from what I've seen, most old-school metalheads seem to like them, but don't count them as one of their particularly favorite bands), but Neat have been re-releasing some pretty obscure NWOBHM material that can't be more well-known. If you like Warfare and want to see individual album reissues, I would urge you to contact Sanctuary about taking some action. Certainly they would have ample live bonus tracks to choose from.

In summary, good material but a bad compilation; sadly, it's all that's being offered right now.

And I just wanted to quickly mention that I had also heard of a version with extra tracks as the first reviewer mentioned. Can anyone confirm if a version of this 2-CD with more than 32 tracks really does exist?

3 out of 5 stars Be careful - not all CDs have the 4 bonus tracks at the end.......2002-09-21

Not really a review - just that I bought a copy for the 4 bonus tracks at the end (Tracks 33 - 36) - and to my surprise my copy only had 32 tracks! So their may be two versions out there?

    Album Description

Old school fans say they've been waiting for Jag Panzer to return to the reputation of their highly acclaimed cult-classic debut Ample Destruction. Taking the challenge to heart, Mechanized Warfare proudly frees them from this expectation, and proves they have retained the integrity of conviction that launched them over fifteen years ago. An epic statement that respectfully pays tribute to their roots and clearly prophesizes all that is still ahead of them, Mechanized Warfare continues the momentum gained from all the years of their studio and touring experiences in the metal scene. It speaks boldly to the act of embracing two decades' worth of struggle and achievement, the art of reconstructing it, and the finesse of transforming it into a mythological creature worthy of legendary status. A 2001 Century Media release.

    4 out of 5 stars Rock Solid.......2005-07-03

This is the first album I bought from Jag Panzer and it didn't let me down. The songwriting is pretty consistent. Gotta love Harry's singing. Chris and Mark do a great combination of melodic leads and crunchy rhythm. I've gotta say though, some of the intros are kind of soft, but usually it doesn't really matter because the songs still turn out great.

    5 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars. JP rules.......2005-01-13

This album isn't quite as consistent or unified as 'Thane to the Throne' was, but it's still damn solid, and probably a bit more varied. It's the same basic formula- classic metal but a bit slower, quite a bit heavier and even more grandiose and epic. It's a good formula, and they can ride it for quite a bit longer if they keep putting out work of this quality.

JP clearly know what they're doing. Conklin is the best classic metal vocalist around, and Briody and Broderick are as fine a guitar duo as any, with a crushing intensity that many of their influences, but while retaining the penchant for melody that they had. And Broderick is the best shredding lead guitarist outside of prog-metal, bar none, though it would be nice if he slowed down a bit more often. The rhythm section is a bit less stereotypical, not using the straight 1-2 patterns as much as most metal rhythm sections do.

It opens with 'Take to the Sky', which is quite possibly the most metal song ever written. As far as soaring, epic choruses go, 'Take to the Sky', has probably got the best one I've ever heard.('Flight of Icarus', might beat it. Might.) Yet, it still has some great, intricate rhythm guitar work under the verses, and, the solo rules, as usual. 'Frozen in Fear' is a faster, Maiden-ish piece with some great lead licks, and what may be the best all around performance I've heard from Broderick. Very catchy, too. 'Unworthy' is a longer, more atmospheric piece, with a rather affecting mood, and some nice choral backing vox. 'The Scarlet Letter' is the second best track on the album, behind the opener. The vox are brilliant, wide-ranging, and the song has got a great unrelenting intensity, coming from the constant, alt-picked riff. It's got a great harmony lead and the solo is awesome.(But aren't they all? This one is particularly awesome, though) 'Cold is the Blade' is another epic, melodic track. Slower and more low-key than 'Take to the Sky' but it has the same basic feeling. Another great, immediately memorable song. 'All Things Renewed' is the longest track here, with some very good, extended soft sections, and some pretty, softer vox from Conklin. Another epic track, for sure, but in a different way than from what preceded it. Everything else on here is at least pretty good, though definitely not on the level of the aforementioned tracks. Still, nothing that needs to be skipped over.

Yes, this album rocks. Get it now.

    5 out of 5 stars Get this!.......2004-12-12

This is the CD that JP fans have been waiting for! I have their entire catalogue and this CD in incredible! The only better CD is 'Ample Destruction.' This CD covers a wide variety of styles and lyric content.

Do yourself a favor, pick this up and remember why you love METAL in the first place!

4 out of 5 stars Something To Rattle Your Eardrums! **** 4 STAR RATING........2003-02-13

And you most defintely will have your eardrums rattled; by the second song, Jag Panzer will have you raising your volume knob higher and higher, as each song goes on to the next. Mechanized Warfare, is a definite power metal release, in the tradition of Tad Morose's, Matters of The Dark. I would compare this release to that one, also the vocals are a bit like Urban Breed's. Not copycats at all, Jag Panzer put their stamp on their own breed of power metal, without a doubt. I loved every song on this one. Scarlet Letter, was my favorite pick. The only reason this didn't get a 5 star masterpiece rating was, because of the obvious fact, that this band doesn't have the complexity of a Symphony X, or more in their realm of power metal, an Iced Earth. Short and straight to the point: if you like any of these bands-Tad Morose, Iron Maiden, old Judas Priest, Nevermore, or Queensryche, definitely get your hands on this one! **** 4 STAR POWER METAL RATING FROM SCRAGGY'S TOMB. Cheers.

Im going to write a short description about the band.
This band is really good band when listening to this band the vocals are superb also the band members are definately not rookies they play their instruments perfectly.

This band was influenced probably by iron maiden.
But also this band is not a complete copy.
This band is more up to date.
If you like bands like maiden you probably will like this band.

        Product Description

M.O.P. (aka Mash-Out Posse) is back again. Comprised of rappers Lil’ Fame (aka Fizzy Womack) and Billy Danzenie (aka Billy Danze), the group is best known for their frenetic hit single 2000’s “Ante Up”. But throughout their career M.O.P. have consistently delivered the hardest, angriest and loudest music Hip Hop could offer. Childhood friends Fame (Jamal Grinnage) and Danze (Eric Murray) grew up in the roughest area of Brownsville (Brooklyn, NY) and were members of a neighborhood gang named Mash Out Posse. They debuted in 1993 with the single “How About Some Hardcore”. The underground success of the single, promoted by a gritty, low-budget video from then-unknown director Hype Williams led to their debut album, “To The Death”, a dark and raging LP, was released in 1994 on on the small label, Select Records. The album was fully produced by DR Period. “How About Some Hardcore” became one of the biggest hardcore rap anthems of the 90s. In 1996, M.O.P. released their second effort, “Firing Squad”. Hoping for better promotion, they signed with Relativity Records. Despite changing record labels and producers (the album was produced by DJ Premier and Lil’ Fame himself), M.O.P. continued hitting fans’ ears with tough, menacing beats and their extremely hardcore, energetic delivery. Two years later, M.O.P. released “First Family 4 Life”, working on the same formula as ever, again with heavy percentage of DJ Premier’s production and more gems produced by Lil’ Fame. M.O.P.’s fanbase was loyal but remained rather small until 2000, when they released “Warriorz”, this time on Loud Records. Mainstream radio began playing the first single, “Ante Up”, produced by DR Period whom they had not worked with since their debut. The single was a major radio hit and propelled the album to #25 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The follow-up single, the self-produced “Cold As Ice” which featured a sample from “Cold As Ice” by Foreigner, also received radio airplay, although almost half of the song’s lyrics had to be censored for the radio version. “Warriorz” is the last major-label release from M.O.P. to date. In 2002, Loud Records folded, leaving the group stranded. They recorded a full length album titled “Ghetto Warfare”, but the eagerly anticipated album was shelved. In order to keep their music on the streets, the Posse released a mixtape titled “Marxmen Cinema” under the name, The Marxmen. M.O.P. also independently released a self-titled rock-rap album under the name, Mash Out Posse. Jump to July 2006, the never before heard album “Ghetto Warfare” has surfaced, and it is finally available to the masses. Nineteen tracks deep, and filled with all the standard M.O.P. subject matter we have all grown to love, the album contains rhymes about battling with rival criminals and serious talk about life in the ghetto. What more could you want from your rough and raw New York rap music?

LOOKS LIKE T ROCK HAS SOME GOOD POTENTIAL OF MAKING IT MAJOR.DUDE HAS IMMACULATE FLOW AND HARD HITTING BEATS. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND INSTEAD OF BUYING THAT TRASH THEY PLAY ON THE RADIO SPEND SOME CASH ON THIS GUYS ALBUMS.YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED

        5 out of 5 stars Tight.......2005-03-08

From top to bottom, this cd is hard, especially as he is getting on Three-Six Mafia. Definitly worth the buy

        5 out of 5 stars T-Rock best Dirty South artist - 36= Gay duo.......2005-01-28

T-Rock has KILLA beats and one of the best flows ive ever heard. DJ Small Arm and Juicy the Juggalo cant even compare to the disses coming to them.

Anyone who says T-Rocks beats are all the same and boring are [...]
T-Rock is going up, (three 6 been in the same place for their whole career)

And lets go over who all they lost through out the years.....

        T-Rock
        K-Rock
        Lil Rock
        Gangsta Boo
        Indo G
        Lil Fire
        Lil Pat
        Koopsta Nicca
        Gangsta Blac
        The Whole Prophet Posse
        Lil fly
        playa fly
        kingpin skinny pimp
        mack
        scan
        droopy
        M Child

.... o wow, they are right, all of them left because of money issues. HA!! are you joking me??? they left because dj paul is crippled, juicy is gay, they arent true to the game, and cause everyone else was leaving because of that.

So buy this album, its dope, GREAT beats, GREAT LYRICS, and allot of tight disses to crippled dick (and arm) mafia.

5 out of 5 stars T- rock: The new lyrical levelz.......2004-12-18

ITS LYRICAL WARFARE UP IN THIS BITCH!! This album is T-rocks retaliation on 3-6 Mafia. Erevy track is ripping, most directed towards them. T-rock droped out of it mostly bacause of money problems, Which Is goes for other former 3-6 allies(Lil Fly, Gangsta Boo, M-child, M.C Mack, and many others). We all know Eazy-E gave off some serious lyrical BUCKSHOTZ on dre back on his 93' EP, but the way T-ROCK GETS THEM! Mannnnnnnnn... hes completely blowin em out the frame getin on DJ, Juicy, Crunchy
and even Project Pat(among other newer boyz of 3-6)I listened to this album very well, and noticed that there NO disses towards Lord Infamous. Maybe its because of the way he was alwayz ripping trackz up lyrically(most definitely 1995-2000!). Or maybe because there nothing to diss him about, and he alwayz cool towards T-rock. "This is what you get" a hard track and great start to the album Al Kapone KILLS ITS in the end. "Murdererz" very hard track with T-rock kickin the Ganksta twist(he alwayz got one tung twist song BANGIN)wit one of my favorite gueststars, Odd-1. "live it up" "f**k 3-6" "gimme room" and even the wylecat(who I thought wouldn't be tight) is str8 HARDHITTIN! Also to dude from Florida(Seargeant Ceph) giving this one star... WHAT TYPE OF LYRICAL SENSE OF MUSIX COULD YOU HAVE HATIN ON THIS!!! JUST TA BUSTA, T-ROCK HITS EVEN HARDER ON HIS SOLOS THAN ANY TRACKZ WIT THEM AND NO WAY IN HELL THERE SHIX NOW WA DAYZ GOT HIS!LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE THE LAME SOFT ONE, REALIZE THAT T-ROCK REPZ ATLANTA AND ONE THE HARDEST OUT TA SOUTH, PLAYA HATER!!! Sorry about that true T-rock fans but I can't UNDERSTAND HOW SOME NIGGAZ CAN HATE ON THE LYRICAL GENIOUS LIKE THAT! Anywayz, get this cause the albums HOT, and on demand. It can get very pricey so shop wisely, PEACE!

5 out of 5 stars go buy this 2day!.......2004-10-14

This album is bumpin out tha frame. T-Rock speaks da truth in his lyrics and if you dont like it the go buy a cd from the Handi Cap Posse.
