Yo, this Funkadelic joint is tight man!.......2006-01-28

This is my favorite Knightowl album, it doesn't have the pumped up production and power that the later joints have, but this has got pure creativity 2 it. The songs are all different from each other, Get Ready is a crazy loco song that is just insane! Funky Rhyme is a tight song by the owl that is perverted & is about smokin' dope, the song Kill Me Ah Witness is a tight joint that is a lyrical murda song that has some 80's beat to it, and the song Sick In The Mind with the twisted distorted voice on it is a crazy, loco, funky smoke out tune that has a crazy G-funk to it.

Knightowl sparks up his joints on songs 1, 3, *4, *5, 6, 7, 8, 9, *10, *11, 13 & 14.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE KNIGHTOWL. IT DOSENT HAVE THE PUMPED UP PRODUCTION AND POWER THAT THE LATER ONES HAVE, BUT THIS HAS GOT PURE CREATIVITY. THE SONGS ARE ALL DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER, LIKE SICK IN THE MIND WITH THE TWISTED DISTORTED VOICE ON IT. THE FIRST SONG IS DOPE, HE RAPS OVER PETE WINGFELDS NITEOWL. AND THE SECOND, WITH IS ANOTHER OLDIE BEAT BUT i CANT REMEMBER WHO WROTE IT. THE TRIBUTE TO MARY WELLS IS BANGIN, AND HE RAPS OVER A BUNCH OF OLD CUTS FROM HER LIKE TWO LOVERS, BEAT ME TO THE PUNCH, AND SOME OTHERS. GOTTA KILL ME A WHITNESS IS A REAL SLOW POWERFUL BEAT. BASICALLY EVERY TRACK ON HERE IS DOPE. PERIOD. DEFINITELY RECOMEND IT.

Seldom's Best album....even 3 years later!.......2005-03-17

Seldom Seen's debut albun "No Escape" is indeed a masterpiece. Mixed with hard street tracks, lyrical tracks and gangster love songs, the album provides something for everyone. His 2nd and 3rd albums have failed to live up to his solo debut, so if you pick up a Seldom Seen album, make sure its "No Escape".

This album is straight westcoast style, has excellent production, bomb ... beats done by tight producers like Chris Gunn, Mr. Funk & Fingazz. Has everything you wanna hear and comes lyrically fit the only thing it was missing was my turntablism scratches on the mix (look for me on the sequel). A must buy CD!

I didn't like the remakes of the classics. There was no need for this cd. The classics are best left alone. There were remakes of "Between the sheets" and "Thin line between love and hate," those were the classics. "Classics for the OG's, Vol.1" was not a classic in anyway. I was not satisfied with any of the tracks.

how not to sound on a talkbox.......2005-04-21

The talkbox vocals on this CD sucks! No harmonies what so ever and he's faking the talkbox... he's not even using one! This guy should listen to the works of Zapp and frontman Roger Troutman for more lessons.
