Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.

This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.

"Things You Can't Stop With Your Hands intentionally spreads itself across the genre-boundaries, and Tara Leigh handles the transitions with ease. It's fitting, given that the album itself is loosely built around the idea of change. "When I started working on this album, my family was in the midst of losing their land to a new highway, and my friend was in the midst of a divorce," she says. "So my mind was wrapped up in all these things that are beyond our control - from hardships like death and unrequited love to the beauty of redemption or one of those unexpected 'perfect days.' I tried to reach deep into those moments of uncertainty, surrender, and ultimately... joy." Even detached listeners will recognize their own stories on "Things..." and reach a little deeper too.

You know how you can listen to a CD and every song sounds a like? Yeah, I hate that. But that's the thing I love about Tara Leigh Cobble. Each song is a unique mix of words and melody that you will gladly sing along with loudly...and if you're like me, off key...as you drive down the road. It's one of those CD's that you can put in and listen to the whole thing without yelling NEXT! and pushing the forward button. This CD is awesome, as well as her other one...here's to hindsight! GO BUY IT NOW!!!! o yeah! and don't forget the book....b/c it rocks too!!

these are beats. Theyre not extremely complex, but not so simple that you get bored, but they are still beats. If you are a fan of Daedelus' work i would consider this a natural extension. It's not beats the way Madlib makes beats, these are far more natural and to me, entertaining. At first i was bored with the album, but after one listen all the way through i have been listening to it quite a bit. I recommend "One In An Infinity Of Ways" as well as this album, but i would definitely pick up this one first. Relaxing, melodic, and interesting.. pick it up if you know whats good for you
