Album Description

Before she unleashed The Pandoras on an unsuspecting world, Paula Pierce was the lead guitarist/singer/songwriter in Action Now, a garage power pop band hailing from Southern California's San Gabriel Valley.

Using the original master tapes, thought lost for almost 20 years, the French-only "All Your Dreams" album has been mastered for CD for the first time by remastering genius Bill Inglot, who also originally produced seven of the studio tracks. Completing the story is "Try" from "Rodney On The ROQ, Vol. III" and a complete Action Now live show, mastered from the original two-track tape, rediscovered after 22 years.

This CD contains the original version of "Stop Pretending," the title song from The Pandoras' Rhino Records LP, along with a live version of "Anyone But You," later recorded for that same 1986 Pandoras LP. In all, this collection features 26 songs never before on CD, 25 songs never released in the United States and five previously unreleased Paula Pierce-penned tunes.

Playing alongside Paula and making the Action Now sound happen were Jim Schuster (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Mike Lawrence (bass, vocals) and Scott Hillman (drums). Also on the CD are Dennis Pash (harmonica) and Chris Bagarozzi (lead guitar).

Pre-Pandora's Paula.......2007-04-05

It's great to finally hear what Action Now sound like. It was obviously a labor of love to get this out, and I appreciate the effort. Early garage pop from an era that pre-dated the Paisley Underground by maybe a year or two by pioneers that would include The Lyres, The Last, and Real Kids (and a host of others), Action Now also has a tinge of that period's sound lacing the overall 60's approach. Mostly male lead vocals, but you can hear Paula's growling vocals accompanying many of the songs. Reminds you of a force in music removed from this world at a far to early age. Nice addition of a live concert as well as an album's worth of recorded songs, and "Try" from Rodney Bingenheimer's "best of" album. An early, rawer version of "Stop Pretending" is an added bonus. There is a wealth of material here. Highly recommended for any fan of 60's or 80's garage, power pop, or the garage version of the Pandoras.

A FANTASTIC 5TH ALBUM.......2006-11-02

This is young dre d's fifth album it has 3 stand out tracks and a couple of other songs which are good there is a fair few guest appearances and has some really great flows it was released 3years after his smash hit album troubled mind which is a west coast classic if you ever get a chance to buy it then do its a great album and will only appreciate in the future

dre-d's 3rd solo album is aight, but it could have been alot better without all the other artists on the album. overexcited is by far the best cut on the whole album! i give 3 starts, but the production lacks on a few songs and the guest appereances make it only 3 stars!!

Dreaming California.......2006-06-21

This was certainly the most expensive CD I've ever purchased but I have no regrets. The music is still fresh and vibrant. I only caught a few episodes when the show was running but I enjoyed those that I managed to catch. I guess the main reason I got the CD is out of nostalgia. The grind of adult life has definitely made me yearn a bit for the innocence of my coming of age years. Ah well, time has moved on but the music of this show can transport me back everytime I get fed up with the present!

A Needle in a Haystack.......2006-03-09

I was a fan of this show when it was on. Too bad it isn't on DVD yet. There are a lot of great songs on this CD and even though i'm in my upper 20's and past the teeny-bopper phase, I still listen to it every once in awhile. Before this CD was available on Amazon, I actually called MCA Records about re-releasing it. Of course they laughed at me. Someone wrote a review about Tower Records having it. I had tried ordering it from there and waited 3 months before being told they couldn't get it for me. Its expensive here but at least you know you will definitely get it. This is a gem that isnt usually found in your local used record shop. If you see it available, snag it while you can!!

BUY IT, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!.......2005-07-05

This is the best music I've ever heard. It's a very rare occasion when you find talented actors who are talented musicians as well. I believe that they deserve a lot more recognition than they've been given. "California Dreams", also the theme song to the TV show, is my favorite song ever. "Rain" is sung by William James Jones (Tony Wicks on the show) and it's a song you can't help but sing along to, not to mention, you'll be blown away by his skills. "If You Only Knew" is a duet with Heidi Lenhart (Jenny Garrison) and Brent Gore (Matt Garrison) which was such a beautiful song, it brought tears to my eyes. The truth is, every song on this cd is great. No complaints from me. Please, don't let California Dreams become extinct. Buy this cd.

Someone - Anyone - Please put this CD back in print!.......2004-07-15

When I was lucky enough to find this CD used at a garage sale, I was incredibly happy. When I began to really listen to it, I got a little sad. Not because the music was bad; far from it. No, I became sad because I realized how few people in the world are going to get to hear this album, until some enterprising record executive gets his stuff together and rereleases it (maybe with bonus tracks).

What are you missing with this being out of print? Try "This Time", one of the best uptempo songs of the past 15 years. And "Love is Not Like This", which will absolutely break your heart. We're talking about the best music ever made by a TV band, even the Monkees.

So, record executives, if you want to continue to deprive the world of solid songwriting and heartfelt performances, by all means, do not rerelease this CD. But I feel someone out there- someone with a heart- owes it to the world to shed a little light on a dark and dreary pop world. Maybe I'm crazy. That's just my California Dream, I guess.

Don't have the CD but..........2004-04-14

I don't have this CD,however I know/am familiar with the songs on this sountrack. And I must say they're great! I remember I use to watch the show when it was on. I heard it's on reruns on some channel...I don't know. But I was wondering if anyone know where I could get a copy of "Mama Said" sang by Samantha Woo on the show. I love that song so much. However it's not in this soundtrack, and I don't know where else to look. Please any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I lost my vinyls of this, and can't get the CD in the UK. It's two d**n good albums and is a shame they haven't released a rewind of it. I you want it in the UK you'll have to pay through the nose from a rare record shop.

Catalogue number is Line LICD9.21173S - if you can persuade them to do a re-release

One of the greatest surprises to me within the last years........1999-10-03

When listening to Randy the first time with this CD, I went by car. Better you don't else you'll have to pay for high speed. These two CDs can be recommended to any music lover of Rock Music, from Led Zeppelin to ZZ Top. Starting softer than expected, the album really starts at "Wild thing", which never has been covered any better. But this is only one of some superb tracks in a row. Already CD 1 is worth for the money, as well is the second, a live recording containing cover versions which never have been covered better but many more times worse. Buy this stuff, listen to it and love it.
