2 out of 5 stars "Ripp Tha Game Bloody" Review.......2005-07-10

Average album from West Coast veteran, RBX, released from Daz Dillinger's independent imprint, Gangsta Advisory. RBX, who came up with Snoop & Tha Dogg Pound during the Death Row era of the early 90's, never really had a breakthrough solo effort despite a ghastly flow and an ominous voice. "Ripp Tha Game Bloody" has a few decent tracks but is far too guest-heavy to be considered a solo album. All-star appearances by Snoop on "Tell It! (The Remix)" and Daz on "Jus... Murda" are pretty underwhelming but his collabo with former Doggystyle artist, E. White on "They Run" is the highlight here. There are some other worthwhile tracks like "Summer In The City", "Crime", "RBX", and "Picasso", but for the most part, the album is nothing special. Another problem I had with the album is that it has no production credits, thus all of its young unknowns continue to go unknown. "Ripp The Game Bloody" should have been more.

5 out of 5 stars RBX tha narrator !!!! This album in dope!!!!.......2004-02-01

YES!!! This album is MANDATORY! Not all all that new fake generic corporate MTV ... pop rap like Chingy or Nelly or anything on the radio. This is STREET like ALL rap USED to be before it became one huge commerical. RBX does a fine job SHOWING ALL THESE CORNY ... WHAT HIP HOPS SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE!

2 out of 5 stars Why RBX? Why didnt you bring the skills you have?.......2004-01-29

RBX is one of my favorite rappers, he has a dark, sinister style. Instead of dropping a unique, straight hip hop album(which is what I was expecting). He decided to make a g-funk album co-starring his whole muthaf@$#ing family. This is more of a compilation because RBX only does a small handfull of songs solo, and predictably, those ones are basicly the best tracks with the exception of the snoop and daz collabos. So RBX I ask you, why would you try to make an album featuring mostly talentless artists on your record label, when you could have done a REAL DOPE solo album (how do I miss Heatmizer) and package a compilation of your artists with the album? I could not be more disappointed. I would rather spend my 11.99 on anything but this cd, Sorry X, you wasted your talent on this album, dont be mad at me.

3 out of 5 stars RBX- Ripp Tha Game Bloody: Street Muzic.......2004-01-27

RBX's (Reality Born Unknown) third album is "Ripp Tha Game Bloody: Street Muzic" (2004). I first heard RBX on Dr. Dre's Chronic and later on RBX's cousin Snoop Doggs "Doggystyle", both classic albums. Over the years I have come across him on a rare guest spot or two but never took the time to check out either of his previous full length albums. RBX starts his album off by talking about Hip Hops exploitation and phony MC's on the intro, then drops the grimey "Foul Mood" a memorable hardcore cut. Alot of early tracks dont standout for me, there not bad just not memorable. Later cuts do standout though some of these include the thugged out "Crime", the fastpaced catchy "RBX" and "Somebody Else" a Westcoast blazing banger. Theres no escape on "They Run" another good track which is laced with a sad sounding beat. RBX gets rough on "Rock Head" a metal based track. Most people will probably never come across this release, "Ripp Tha Game Bloody: Street Muzic" has its ups and downs, I recommend this one to loyal RBX fans and suggest others listen to it first before copping it. RBX has one of those distinct flows people either like or hate.

it's a lot of rappers from the south that actually rap like they from somewhere else. im always trying to get the real dirty south artists like scarface ugk pimp and bun z-ro chamillionaire and a few others. i went to the website and saw the get the greenboy video and that was cool how he repped pimp and the south. for me to give a album a five, half of the songs have to be tracks i'd listen to more than once without skipping over to another track. red did it big on this album. i like fire , greenboy, real live soldier went hard with Bun on it. who is he is another killa track. that's a single all by itself. if you want to cop something this is the album to get. not only that, this pimp c shirt is tight! id buy the cd again just to get a black free pimp t shirt! It's TIGHT! COP IT!
