4 out of 5 stars Brings back memories...........2007-07-06

OK,if you can get past the big hair on the cover, inside you will find a little masterpiece of 80's nostalgia. This cd is Solid,if not spectacular. There is no reason to skip thru any of the tunes, just enjoy them all. I can remember buying this cd and cruising the open road while blaring Gimme Your Love, and Love is not a game, thru my speakers....oh man,has it really been 20 years since this thing has been released? MSG released 2 more cd's after this one,but in MY opinion, neither one matched the quality of this one. I guess it was a matter of Perfect Timing!

5 out of 5 stars McSG's best album..........2007-04-20

With the release of Perfect Timing Michael Schenker teamed up with Robin McAuley and put out a very good album with great songs, great playing and strong vocals. In all honesty McAuley was the best vocalist Schenker had worked since Phil Mogg in UFO. Gary Barden simply was too limited with his vocals and Graham Bonnett(while I personally like him) also is fairly limited. McAuley can handle anything from full out rockers too ballads. Schenker's playing is, as usual, great. I love how his playing can be so complex at times but still fit within the structure of the songs and his sense of melody is always strong.

Song Highlights include: Gimme Your Love, Here Today Gone Tomorrow, Love Is Not A Game, I Don't Wanna Lose and Rock Till You're Crazy.

Overall, this is a great, fun album. I don't understand people complaining about this being "hair metal". It's not like UFO or earlier MSG albums/music is thrash or hardcore metal. Schenker's music has always been powerful, but melodic. Perfect Timing provides all of that.

5 out of 5 stars My favorite MSG album featuring Robin McAuley.......2007-04-03

THE BAND: Michael Schenker (guitars), Robin McAuley (vocals), Steve Mann (keyboards/guitars), Rocky Newton (bass), Bodo Schopf (drums & percussion).

THE DISC: (1987) 10 tracks clocking in at approximately 43 minutes. Included with the disc is a 6-page booklet containing song titles/credits, song lyrics, one black & white band photo, and thank you's. 7 of the 10 songs written by McAuley & Schenker (the others written by a combination of band members). Recorded at PUK Studios, Denmark. Re-mastered and re-released several times with bonus tracks and/or edits - now an import. Label - Capital Records.

COMMENTS: Michael Schenker has a long list of albums/discs he's made over the decades, but he only made three with singer Robin McAuley. "Perfect Timing", "Save Yourself" (1989) and another titled "MSG" (1991)... of which I truly believe this "Perfect Timing" is the best of the three. "PT" is slick, polished hair/glam rock that leaned more to the commercial side of hard rock. Schenker and his trademark black & white Gibson Flying-V guitar is in top form - as ALL the songs here are solid. Highlights include the two hits "Love Is Not A Game" (perhaps Schenker's best tune with McAuley on vocals) and "Gimme Your Love"; the rockers "Here Today - Gone Tomorrow", "I Don't Wanna Lose", and "No Time For Losers"; and two typical 80's style power ballads in "Follow The Night" and "Time". I wore this vinyl record out back in the late 80's... and I still find myself going back to the "Perfect Timing" disc frequently. I dig the cover too - so 80's with the hair and outfits, it's not even funny. For me, this is/was a special album (5 stars).

4 out of 5 stars Not one of Schenker's best but still a good album........2005-11-23

This album gets knocked by many fans as a commercial sell-out, but I think about half the album is really good. I agree that Robin McAuley's hairdo on the cover looks ridiculous, but I like his slightly raspy voice. My favorites are Gimme Your Love, the ballads Love Is Not A Game and Time, I Don't Wanna Lose (great rhythm!), and Rock Till Your Crazy. The rest of the album is not bad either. I still have good memories of listening to this album my first year of college, much to the annoyance of my roommate. I think the next album, Save Yourself, is as good as this album but I never got into the third album with McAuley.

4 out of 5 stars Still a great LP.......2005-09-07

As tacky as putting the mullet on the cover and even the multi-layered vocal tracks, this CD still rocks for it's age. The best of the three (of this lineup) in my opinion, but I've been a UFO/MSG fan for as long as I can remember. This goes for a lot of bands from the 80's that were good but have been forgotten. Unfortunately, management back then called for these cheeseball tactics and even still do this to the new bands. I mean for real everyone, do you think Marylin Manson goes Christmas shopping in his bad makeup and leather poser outfits? I say "Play it, don't catagorize it" and grab this CD.

5 out of 5 stars Vintage Metal.......2005-04-20

The first time I ever heard of this band was when I saw the Video: "Gimme your love" on MTV. There was a bunch of fine girls in the video dressed in ripped jeans, along with the band doing a kind of behind the scenes theme with large cameras moving all around. I bought the cassette of this and recently purchased the CD used through Amazon. The other songs are pretty good as well. Robin's voice is comparable to Klaus Meine from the Scorpions. Great music!!!

4 out of 5 stars Very good effort by a good band.......2004-10-10

I really like this record. It just rocks but it is very melodic also. Robin Mccauley had a raspy voice that I really like, different from others of that genre. I never followed Michael Schenker before so this was my intro to him and it impressed me. This could've been huge, I just don't know why it wasn't. The band was talented, the songs were well written and Andy Johns's production was excellent! The album kicks off with Give me your love (straight ahead rocker), Here today, gone tommorrow is a smart rocker, my personal fave is Don't stop me now(cuz the animal is free again), rest of record is good with strong songs and good playing. Bass is pumping, drummer is pretty good, and they just seem to jell together nicely. Just a nice rockin record. period. Hey, Robin where'd ya go dude, you had some serious pipes!!Next record Save me was a bit more commercial than this, but also good. A nice addition if you can find it. Rock on......

5 out of 5 stars They just don't make 'em like this anymore!.......2003-02-08

This group very accomplished and this album is now my
favorite. The instrumentals are fantastic and the vocals
speak for themselves. I would highly recommend this album or
CD to those of you who still are rock and rollers. Must hear
to appreciate.

3 out of 5 stars Commercial is right..........2002-11-17

This CD has some tight tracks on it...but DEFINITELY NOT what I would definte as REAL ELECTRO...If you wanna touch on it, try-out Electro Breakz Volume 6 mixed by EXZAKT...and that's only the tip of the iceberg...all I can say is that ELECTRO is MUCH deeper then this...

    5 out of 5 stars breakbeat masterpiece.......2002-05-09

great mixing of different styles! not many can compare!
it's dark and very electro, a must have for breakbeat heads!

5 out of 5 stars trance, house, goa, breakbeat.......2000-12-14

trance, house, goa, breakbeat usually donot go together, but in this excellent cd the mix is outstanding. Like S.U.N. Project they use a mix of synthesizers, computer loops and traditional instruments to create a truly great sound. Outstanding mix by Storm and Dangerously.

5 out of 5 stars If it's like the first then it is good.......2000-12-08

Okay, I haven't heard this cd yet but I do have the first volume. If this cd is anything like it(I'm sure it is) then it should be very good. The perfect timing series is all about breakbeat. The first cd had songs from DJ Icey and Merlyn, two excellent breakbeat artists. I'm sure this cd has similiar artists. So if you like DJ Icey and trancey breakbeat then this cd is for you.

The boys from Chi-Town came out with a decent album for their debut on Cash Money. It doesn't really have that Cash Money sound to it though. It has 14 songs (one Boo & Gotti ain't on) and of these 6 are good the other 8 are ok, none are horrible or great. Lyrics are average and nothing specacial, just the typical ones that everyone has in 2003. Production is average from some big names producers -- Manny Fresh does 7 songs, Leslie Braithewaite, Kanye West, and Jazze Pha all do 2 songs and R Kelly does 1. Guests are on most of the songs on here but don't really hurt or help the album any. For their fans I'd check it out but it's nothing special.

This album is dope. I believe the chicago duo came with something to prove. I love the variety of music they offer. This is not just for the ladies or just for the thugs but for both. Babygirl is a 4sure hit and Chicago is the city anthem. The Intro is also very hot displaying a vivid introspective of the city of Chicago.

      Album Description

Danielle Westphal's new CD, "High Standards," which was officially released June 3, 2002, to a sold-out audience at Blues Alley, in Washington, D.C., has been collecting some great reviews. The recording, produced, arranged, and mixed by Dan Reynolds, is a wonderful collection of 17 standards that range from toe-tapping big band favorites to smooth bossa beats, rounded out by beautiful ballads -- including two sung in French. Mike Joyce of The Washington Post says, Danielle "brings an innocent zest" to the CDs tunes and Dave Nathan of All Music Guide, says, "her diction is perfect … and keen sense of timing … adds freshness" to this "scintillating maiden album." Dan Reynolds' piano accompaniment, Peter Revell's acoustic bass and Mike DeLisa's drums add the perfect jazz momentum to this collection of standards from the Great American Songbook.

Another great 80's R&B debut from Powerhouse vocalist Donna Allen!! I still remember when my family and I saw the video to 'Serious' fell instantly in love with this song! other hightlights 'Sweet Somebody'(great remake of the Shannon hit), 'Satisfied'..the nice ballad 'Daydreams'..and i love the powerhouse deliverly of 'Bit by Bit'...I love this record, boy I miss the 80's and the 80's sound!

5 out of 5 stars Beatiful rich voice.......2005-07-24

Donna Allen has a great voice and is one of my favourite singers - she should have had even more albums ! This album lives because of her talent. Not all tracks are strong, but her voice sugars them. Her hit "Serious" is still strong, "Sweet somebody" is another rather dancey track. The other tracks are more ballads...very lushy like "bad love" or "Satisfied". Go and buy her stuff, it's worth it ! :)

This is a great album from MSG, I bought the cassette in the 80's and later tried to get it on CD. NO LUCK, so I used my cd recorder to make an analog copy of the tape onto CD. I wish this could get re-released in the U.S. Such great songs as TIME, GIMME YOU'RE LOVE and many others. This band was highly underated and very good.
