To qualify as a classic, a rap album must be solid from start to finish, containing no fillers, all thrillers. The musical production should match the lyrical skills of the MCs and the artist should posses his or her own style and flavor. Naughty By Nature's self-titled debut can rightfully be called timeless. When it dropped in 1991, the global hip-hop community took notice, and its stature stands years later. Featured here is the sing-along club classic "O.P.P." Queen Latifah spices up "Wickedest Man Alive" while Lakim Shabazz guests on the Luis "Louie Louie" Vega-produced "1,2,3." This collection of bouncy beats and powerful rhymes is a must-have for lovers of East Coast hip-hop.

Naughty by Nature was on point with their debut in 91!.......2007-05-29
I have to agree with the editor and his reasons why this is a classic album. Naughty by Nature put it down on their first album for sure. Trench was da man when he first came on the scene and Vinnie was a good sidekick who gave you quality verses. I know O.P.P was the standout track, but i favorite was Uptown Anthem. After that, i'd have to say O.P.P, Yoke The Joker, and Guard Your Grill came after that as personal favorites. Overall, it was a very good debut with very little flaws.
THE BEST ONE NAUGHTY BY NATURE DID IN MY OPINION.......2007-02-15
to me, the this debut album was their finest. it was as raw as it was mellow. i like them better when they are no holds barred raw. my faves on here are YOKE THE JOKER, GUARD YOUR GRILL, EVERYDAY ALL DAY, STRIKE A NERVE (because vin rhymes on it), GHETTO BASTARD, and UPTOWN ANTHEM (which was not on the original album that i bought on cassette.....oh, and vin rhymes on it). now POVERTY'S PARADISE was nice, but it did not move me like this one. this one showed a hunger that the others did not. i love it when the driving force is full of that.
Ol' School.......2006-07-28
I actually like Naughty by Nature. From the Jackson 5 sample in "OPP" to the entertaining "Yoke the Joker". If you like guys like Yung Joc, TI, and 50 Cent, dont waste your money on it. But if your into old school rap, Naughty by Nature is for you
Top 5
1. OPP
2. Everything's Gonna Be Alright
3. Yoke the Joker
4. Wickedest man Alive
5. Let the Hoes Go
Amazing on all parts of the members of this group........2006-07-18
Naughty by Nature's self-titled debut is nothing but amazing. The lyrics were great. The beats were solid. And most of all all three of these MC's have flow that you wouldn't imagine. Most of the songs are amazing. The album starts of strong with Yoke the Joker. This track brings an amazing beat, flow that no one has, and the lyrics are good. The second track Wickedest Man Alive was probably one of the weaker tracks on the album, because the beat wasn't good, Queen Latifah's part, the chorus, was annoying, and I would've liked to see better lyrical display instead of calling themselves Wickedest Man Alive. So this track was forgettable. O.P.P. was a great club banger. A little soft side to Naughty by Nature, but it was is another great song and shows club songs can be good. Then my personal favorite song is on Ghetto Bastard (Everything's Gonna Be Alright). I think this is without a doubt the best song on the album because of great lyrical display, a great beat, once again the flow of these men, and most of all the passion brought to this. Following this song Let the H*'s Go. This was another amazing song. The beat is outstanding, the flow (I won't mention the flow agin because all songs on this album have great flow from each MC in the group), and the lyrics are great telling us the bad things about H*'s. Everyday All Day is a good song. Good beat, and decent lyrics. A good listen. The next song was amazing Guard Your Grill. A great up tempo beat, and good lyrics. Pin the Tail on the Donkey was decent at best. Lyrics were ok, the beat was terrible, because it was the Ice Ice Baby beat by Vanilla Ice (and anything Vanilla Ice does in rap is absolutely disgraceful.) 1,2,3 was another amazing song done by these three. Another great beat, and good lyrics. Strike a Nerve was great. The next song is pretty forgettable again. Thankx for Sleepwalking isn't good or bad. A little forgettable. And as it seems that the album is coming downhill with the last couple of tracks Uptown Anthem doesn't dissapoint. A great beat and lyrics. A great way to end an album off.
In conclusion this is a great album with many diferent good songs with a couple forgettable ones. Treach shows he is one of the best MC's from this time in rap with his amazing talent on the mic. And the beats were solid. Lyrics are good. And flow you can't describe nothing else but amazing. A classic old school rap album.
Top 5 Songs:
1. Ghetto Bastard (Everything's Gonna Be Alright.)
2. Uptown Anthem.
3. Yoke the Joker.
4. Let the H*'s Go.
5. 1,2,3.
But there are a couple of runner up's that could be in the Top 5 on this album.
The First Two CDs I Ever Bought [Part 2 of 2] {4 Stars}.......2006-07-01
Okay, let me point out two things before I get started:
1) The reviewer below me (Amparo Acosta) totally plagiarized the review of this album from AllMusic.com writer Stanton Swihart (the review can be found on that website).
2) I'm not sure if this album was rereleased with "Uptown Anthem" added to it, but my copy doesn't have that song and I bought this album the very day that it hit stores back in '91. I had to buy the soundtrack to Juice in order to get that track (the classics on that joint made it worth it anyway, but back to the album).
Anyway, Naughty By Nature's self titled debut and Queen Latifah's Nature Of A Sista LPs were the first albums I ever purchased on CD. Up until that point, I was buying records and tapes because I couldn't afford a CD player and my mom wasn't going to buy one for me. I eventually saved up and bought one, but I digress. When I first popped this album in, I immediately noticed how tight of an MC Treach was (Eminem openly gives him a good amount of credit for being one of the blueprints used for his own particular style). The best word I've heard used to describe his flow is "nimble". Treach could bounce from track to track and ride any beat with what seemed like no effort at all. The production is credited to Naughty By Nature, but I'm guessing the bulk of that fell on the shoulders of Kay Gee (the guy behind hits for Zhane, Next, Jaheim, Koffee Brown, and many others -- you've probably been dancing to his beats for the past 7 years and didn't even know it). Also, those looking for Vinnie to shine should look for later releases. He doesn't make much of an impact on this album -- he fills the same role as Phife Dawg did for A Tribe Called Quest (the sidekick that spit a bar or two and then came into his own on later releases).
I have to disagree with the editorial review. There is a fair amount of filler on the album. "Wickedest Man Alive" is cool, but I could only tolerate Queen Latifah's psuedo caribbean accent in small doses. "Let The H*es Go" is one of those songs that isn't bad, but you have to be in the mood for it or you may skip it and "Pin The Tail On The Donkey" was pretty forgettable. "Thankx For Sleepwalking" is actually pretty good, but it starts to become a chore to listen to due to its length (5:26)
Naughty By Nature is definitely one of the more memorable albums of the 90's. The success of "O.P.P." brought a lot of pop fans and those same pop heads will be the ones that will tell you that this album isn't that good (like the spotlight reviewer). They don't really know what hip hop is anyway. If you want to hear one of the best rappers of the 90's tear up dope track after dope track, then get this album. Take it from someone who's been into hip hop since the age of 8. I highly recommend this album to any fan of rap music.
Standout Tracks: Everyday All Day, Ghetto B*stard (My Favorite), O.P.P., Strike A Nerve, Yoke The Joker, Rhyme'll Shine On feat. Aphrodity, Guard Your Grill, and 1,2,3 feat. Lakim Shabazz & Apache

Better than the first? Yes it is!.......2007-05-29
The debut gave us O.P.P and it was a hit, but this CD gave us a better hit with Hip Hop Hooray. The single was one of the reasons i'd have to say that this CD is better than the first. Trench, Vinnie, and Kay Gee stepped up their game with this one. From the first song 19 Naughty III to Ready For Them (feat. Heavy D) to Hot Potato (feat. Freddy Fox) to Sleepwalking II, their isn't a weak song on the CD. This is a must for the collection cause this one goes hard!
Their best Work.......2007-04-10
Like De la, Das EFX, and a tribe call quest, naughty by nature's sophomore CD, to my mind, was way superior to their debut. Yes I know that that debut included 'O.P.P' but as an album it's not one that i kept in heavy rotation. But listening to this CD reminds me of the days when I would LOVED Hip hop. Now I would never say that Treach was in my top tem MC's of all time, and, even after all this time I couldn't quote you a memorable line from any of his rhymes, but he has a nice flow that accompanies the joints on this CD( Vin Rock would come in every now & then, more so on this CD, similar, but to a lesser effect than Phife Dawg on tribe's excellent 'Low End Theory CD') Kay Gee's production is a mixture of Horns breaks, and piano samples, that still sound fresh. Tracks I dig are: Hip Hop Horary (great video by Spike Lee) it's on (with a great horn break) and Hot Potato, with an excellent cameo by Mr. Bumpy Knuckles himself, Freddie Foxxx. These toons standout on a good CD.

Despite an excellent debut album, Naughty by Nature was pegged as a one-hit wonder by some observers -- after all, they'd never duplicate the inescapably catchy "O.P.P.," would they? 19 Naughty III's lead single, "Hip Hop Hooray," proved that they could, and the album confirmed that Naughty by Nature were indeed highly underrated in terms of consistency. It's a shade less consistent than the debut, but has all the same strengths: head-nodding beats, Treach's bouncy flow, and a difficult balance between street attitude and accessibility. Naughty by Nature clearly comes from the streets, and have all the aggression of the streets, but they don't glamorize the streets; sure, they'll take care of themselves in a harsh environment, but ultimately they prefer to steer clear of trouble, cops, and jail. It's a refreshingly grounded and realistic perspective, best heard on "Daddy Was a Street Corner," "The Hood Comes First," and "The Only Ones." There are also energized guest appearances from Heavy D ("Ready for Dem") and Queen Latifah ("Sleeping on Jersey"). Kay Gee again shows himself a sorely underappreciated producer, with one foot in the clubs and the other one on the street corner, and that's true of the group as a whole. A few slower moments don't prevent 19 Naughty III from ranking as Naughty by Nature's second straight triumph.
Nasty.......2005-08-05
Treach kills it with every flow he spits. He has such a superb style it never gets old. KG on the boards and VIN ROC helpin on the raps, this was on of their best efforts for sure.

If any rappers deserve to be called poets, Treach and Vinnie of Naughty By Nature do. They fire off line after line chock-full of internal rhymes and alliterations, conjure detailed scenes, drop allusions, and display a reassuring knowledge of the world beyond hip-hop. If any poets deserve to be called rap stars it's this powerful trio (with DJ Kay Gee) from East Orange, New Jersey. On their third album, 1995's Poverty's Paradise, Naughty strikes up enough hard-edged partying in their smart lyrics and sharp beats to keep on top of the hip-hop core, while a handful of radio-ready tracks throw them into wider pastures just to remind everyone else they're also making marks on the pop charts. --Roni Sarig

There Is No Such Thing As A 3rd Times A Charm...............2006-01-30
POVERTY'S PARADISE won a 1996 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. "Feel Me Flow" was nominated for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group. East Orange, New Jersey's finest are back at it, destined to regain platinum status with their third effort, POVERTY'S PARADISE. Already responsible for such hip-hop classics as "O.P.P.," "Uptown Anthem" and "Hip-Hop Hooray," Naughty By Nature comes packed with some impressive attributes: Treach and Vinnie's unique lyrical styles, Kay Gee's distinct rhythmic beats, and a widespread appeal that is due largely to their ultra-catchy choruses and general pop sense. Each Naughty By Nature release inevitably delivers the hip-hop anthem of the year (see previous paragraph for examples), and on POVERTY'S PARADISE that distinction falls to "Craziest." Regularly leaving listeners in the dust, Treach remains one of the strongest vocalists in rap music on the strength of his tongue-twisting rhymes: "Wasn't driving too fast/I was flying too low/You think I'm rocking too quick/I think you listen to slow." And to all those who thought he may have been the weak part of the NBN equation, Vinnie's added flavor on "Clap Yo Hands" proves his skills to be quite worthy. DJ/producer extraodinaire Kay Gee is also in fine form, funking up "Sunshine" with a well-known Roy Ayers sample. But as the title implies, POVERTY'S PARADISE is not all about keeping the party going, and "Chain Remains," a laid-back groove that explores the misfortunes of a growing, incarcerated population, is a needed dose of reality. Filled with ghetto tales and guest appearances from fellow members of the Double I family (Rottin Razkals, Road Dawgs and others), the much anticipated release fulfills Naughty By Nature's dream of turning their poverty into paradise.
Ok.......2005-11-26
I am a Naughty fan and I like this CD but you cant stay on top forever and this Cd I beleive is when they started going down but I love the song Feel me flow and Craziest If you love Naught this is a must buy!!!
Naughty by Nature- Poverty's Paradise.......2003-07-13
Naughty by Nature's (Treach, Vinnie, Kay Gee) third album "Poverty's Paradise" (1995) is an banging underated release that still vibes very well many years later. Executive production comes from Naughty by Nature, Sha-Kim & Queen Latifah. Guest appearances come from Road Dawgs, Cruddy Click, Rottin Razkalz, Chriss Webber, Gordon Chambers. On the insert to the cd there is a comment I like from Treach which runs as "You could Leave the Ghetto, But the Ghetto Ain't Gonna Leave You. It's in you forever, If you keep in touch". The albums title track, is a one minute track which has Naughty by Nature reminding there fans that they will always remember there roots, and stay grounded, and that they will represent for those who dont get a voice out there. First tracks that standout for me are upbeat party tracks like "Clap Yo Hands" & "It's Workin" feat. Rottin Razkalz tracks which have nice choruses and are entertaining. On "Chain Remain" NBN goes deeper showing there social consciousness, talking about incarceration, and dropping lines like "Jails aint nothing but the slave day sequel". The lighter "Feel Me Flow" follows, a very nice laid back party track. "Craziest" has NBN showing love to people from city's from NJ to Boston. Another track follows in "Sunshine" which has an addictive beat, and is a track about showing love to the shortys, and getting laid. "World Goes Round" is a track about the youth, cops, media, and the streets. Naughty by Nature shows there harder side on "Klickow-Klickow" feat. Rottin Razkals, Cruddy Click, Road Dawgz while paying some respect to the oldschool. The albums longest track is the seven minute "Shout Out" feat. R&B singer Gordon Chambers a track by Naughty by Nature in which they thank the radio programmers, video shows, DJ and fans that supported there music and helped them make it, while also thanking individuals like Funkmaster Flex, DJ Premier, and many many more. I like this, never have seen a track where a group shows so much love to those who helped them make it and to other artists, while getting specific and being genuine. Next comes outro, which you would think would be closer, cept it isnt as the hardcore "Connections" closes the album off well. "Poverty's Paradise" has music to party to, music that makes you think, and music that goes deeper then the average. Beats, production and lyrics are all solid making this an album to have if you like Naughty by Nature like I do.
Slept on by everyone.......2003-04-27
This is a high quality rap record full of banging beats and incredible rapping. If you don't own it you are missing out on some great hip hop.
Well-rounded?.......1999-07-25
Albeit this is the only Naughty by Nature album with which I'm familiar, I found it one of the most enjoyable hip-hop albums I've encountered. The beats are incredible, enjoyable, but what distinguishes this cd from typical party music are the amazing lyrical acrobatics. I fully agree with the Amazon review: Treach and VinRock, beyond their impressive lyrical content and manipulation of phrases, enhance their poetics by deftly manipulating the language's sounds and accents, resulting in a flow in the truest sense of the word. Though the content varies from the social/political (World Goes Round, in my opinion the strongest all-round track, intelligent and bumping) to sexual (Sunshine) to classic we're-the-baddest-mcs (Clap Your Hands), their lyrical craft never fails. If anything, the strongest display of their lyrical abilities is Feel Me Flow, also their most light-hearted, upbeat, beach-rolling track.
I never expected to even own this album, but it's now become a staple in my collection.

Customer Reviews:
Defining collection from one of hip hop's greatest groups.......2006-07-14
Naughty By Nature is one of hip hop's most influential, consistent, and simply entertaining groups to date, releasing five albums between 1991 and 2002. The trio of Treach, KayGee, and Vinnie represented New Jersey and brought an original blend of hardcore beats and style with lyrics that were at times menacing, funny, and thoughtful. Production was incredibly consistent for the group, using hard drum patterns, creative samples, sparse instrumentals, and their signature call-and-response choruses. Contrary to Amazon's product description, this is actually Naughty's second greatest hits compilation, following 1999's "Nature's Finest" which soon went out of print and has a nearly identical tracklist to this one. "Naughty's Nicest" includes songs from their first four albums, "Naughty By Nature", "19 Naughty III", "Poverty's Paradise", and "19 Naughty 9: Nature's Fury" (their 2002 album "Iicons" is not represented), as well as a couple from movie soundtracks. Basically it contains all of their classic singles and a few deep tracks that didn't receive enough play. This compilation is certainly a great buy because some of their albums have since gone out of print. Naughty By Nature is one of hip hop's greatest groups and I feel they never get enough respect.
This compilation begins with their classic anthem "OPP" from their debut album. From it's memorable chorus and theme to it's hard beat and lyrics, it displays everything that people loved about the group. This is followed by "Uptown Anthem", a song representing their hood, a true classic from the "Juice" soundtrack. Next comes the beautifully uplifting "Everything's Gonna Be Alright", which samples Bob Marley's "No Woman No Cry" and provides hope to struggling people everywhere. "Guard Your Grill" and "Wickedest Man Alive" are both fun, tough NBN tracks that I love listening to. "Everyday All Day" has a great arrangement of instrumentals, with keyboards and a sax on the hook. "Hip Hop Hooray" is legendary, with an extremely catchy beat and a classic call-and-response in the chorus. "Written on Ya Kitten" always makes me laugh, and KayGee's previously unavailable remix of "It's On" is a nice added bonus. "Poor Man's Poetry" is a great song from the "Poetic Justice" soundtrack. My favorite track on this compilation might be "Feel Me Flow", from the 1995 "Poverty's Paradise" album. It is inescapably catchy, a sweet looped beat and a chorus that I can't help but sing to. It's followed by the excellent "Craziest" from the same album and the very thoughtful and bittersweet 2Pac tribute song "Mourn You Til I Join You". The compilation closes with "Dirt All By My Lonely", a nice cut from "19 Naughty 9: Nature's Fury".
If you're at all interested in hip hop, I strongly recommend "Naughty's Nicest" for the collection, because there's not a single song on hear that I don't love and it's very definitive of their career. Also, since every album except "Naughty By Nature" and "Iicons" is now out of print, it's hard to find most of their other work, so this compilation spans their careers well. NBN is truly one of hip hop's finest groups and this compilation effectively shows why.
A great collection of songs from the originators of call-and-response rap! You'll love this CD!.......2006-01-08
I haven't heard any of their other compilation CDs, but I at least know that this one is extremely satisfying. All their hits are here ("O.P.P.", "Hip Hop Hurray", etc.) and even some non-hits which are still very very good. Naughty By Nature originated the call-and-response rap style which is very fun and definitely not a cheap gimmick. Every rapper in the group is FANTASTIC - not only can they spit extremely well but they have great charisma. You will love how they sound. The lyrics are also very well done - they're definitely catchy, somewhat memorable and, most of all, interesting and occasionally deep. The production may be a bit dated on some of the songs, but in no way does this hinder the experience. Rap fans and probably non-rap fans will absolutely love this CD! Highly recommended!
Highlights include:
the entire album!
One of the best.......2004-08-05
The greatest hits of Naughty by Nature is simply their best album, Naughty by Nature is one of the top 10 rap groups of all time and Treach simply has the best flow ever to be heard on the mic. The album starts off with NbN's most popular track OPP and then heads right into Uptown anthem a song I like a lot. One of the best cuts on the album is Everything's gonna be alright. Track's 4-8 are all great but probably the best track on the album is Hip Hop Hooray where Treach just embarrases every other MC with the flow and lyrics he spits. It also started the famous "Heeeey Hoooo". Written on ya kitten ONCE AGAIN SHOWS TREACH'S RIDICULOUS FLOW. Track's 11 and 12 are dope and then my favorite feel my flow, it has the best beat, lyrics, flow and chorus on the album. Craziest is another great track, i love the chorus and how they give props to a lot of other cities besides their own. The album ends strong as well.
Read.......2004-04-26
All I gotta say about this CD is that its dope and you should buy it.
2nd Compilation STILL Incomplete!!!.......2004-02-02
This is the 2nd Naughty By Nature compilation (following Tommy Boy's 'Nature's Finest' from 1999), and this release from Rhino isn't a complete collection of Naughty's hits. Like the earlier CD, this collection is missing 2 big hits, namely 'Jamboree' (featuring Zhane), and Naughty's major hit from 2002, 'Feels Good' (featuring 3LW). If Rhino & Tommy Boy can't release a definitive compilation for Naughty By Nature, I urge fans to take matters into their own hands. In short, MAKE YOUR OWN CDs, and ignore these half-baked collections from the record companies!

A Spectrum of Romance in American Musical Composition.......2006-01-15
Often American music is thought to be jaunty, combative, or tragic in content, especially when it comes to songs/lieder for the classical repertoire. This engaging CD takes umbrage with that misconception and in presenting some twenty-eight songs by various composers clearly identifies the romantic side of American composers.
Here are songs well known and not so well known by familiar and not so familiar composers, and in the hands of tenor Robert White and pianist Samuel Sanders they all come across as important. Included are rarities by composers such as Amy Beach, Theodor Chanler, Isabelle Firestone, Eric Ewazen, Albert Hay Malotte, Marc Marder, John Musto and Richard Hageman, with popular composers Rudolf Friml and Sigmund Romberg, along with the greats: Ives, Schuman, Hindemith, Barber, Thomson, Korngold, Copland. Rorem, Bolcom, Corigliano, and Griffes. It is a huge spectrum of work and while some are less successful than other, they all are given respectful and loving renditions by White and Sanders. It is great fun to hear Firestone's famous 'If I could tell you' that opened the Voice of Firestone for so many years along side Samuel Barber's gorgeous 'Sure on this shining night' and Aaron Copland's settings of Emily Dickinson's poems.
This a rare treat for connoisseurs of lieder and for lovers of beautiful songs. Recommended. Grady Harp, January 06
a rare gem of a CD.......2002-07-08
Sure On This Shining Night is not my usual musical cup of tea...yet, it has become one of my favorite CDs. This collection of American Romantic songs has burrowed its way into my heart.
There is a universality to the longing involved in Romanticism. These songs capture this feeling perfectly. From the first song to the last, these songs do one thing perfectly: evoke an emotional response.
This is due in no short measure to the wonderful performance Robert White gives. Rather than being merely technically accurate, White actually gives each of these songs a life of their own. He achieves this effect by getting inside not only the words, but the feelings involved.
Some of the highlights for me are: the lovely and memorable "Rose Marie," Ewazen's setting of Blake's "The Tiger," a moving version of "The Lord's Prayer" and the haunting "Never More Will the Wind."
Samuel Sanders is a worthy musical companion to White. His playing is reciprocally lovely and introspective. The notes are extensive and informative as well.
Even though it may be an acquired taste in our postmodern age, I give Sure On This Shining Night my full recommendation.

Though they were ostensibly a part of the latter-day extended Native Tongues posse (a loose association of groups that involved De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, the Jungle Brothers, and Queen Latifah), Naughty by Nature always were a square peg for that round hole. Looking back on NBN's career on the eve of the release of Nature's Finest, it makes more sense to see them as harbingers of a new era of hip-hop: their mix of hardcore posing (lead MC Treach waved a machete around onstage) and pop hooks foreshadowed the rise of Puff Daddy and Jay-Z. They had only two bona fide hits--"O.P.P." and "Hip Hop Hooray," both of which were huge--and the rest of the 17 tracks here follow much the same formula, matching a pop-hook backing track with a big chorus. If there were truth in advertising, Nature's Finest would have been released as a single, but fans may enjoy having all these songs together on one collection. --Bucky Wunderlick

Good hits from naughty by nature!!!!!!!.......2005-07-21
I like almost all of these songs. Get This!!!!!!!!
worth it for the hits.......2004-08-03
i bought this because two of my favorite three rap songs ever were naughty by nature songs, the undeniable anthems "hip hop hooray" and "o.p.p." they also had the lesser hit "everything's gonna be alright" which included the immortal (and hard-to-argue) line, "if you ain't nevah BEEN to tha ghetto, don't evah COME to tha ghetto, 'cuz you wouldn't underSTAND the ghetto." and plus, i just need more quality rap music (without having too much, mind you). i like these guys, what they stood for: you got your streetwise gangsta-element, and your catchy, danceable, pop grooves in one package. no more pretending to like NWA, hooray! sadly, only about half of this greatest hits package is worth listening to, but then again, that's a pretty damn fine ratio for a best-of compilation in this genre.
Needs Some Work.......2002-06-23
This album wasn't exactly packed with what I consider Naughty By Nature's greatest hits, but it wasn't all too bad. I picked it up figuring that it would be packed with hits from their previous albums, but was somewhat dissapointed once I started listening to it. Overall I'd say that it wasn't too bad, but unless you're a die-hard N.B.N fan, I'd suggest you stick to IICons or one of their better albums.
BUY THIS ALBUM!.......2000-03-20
This is the only NBN album you will ever need 2 have! It has all the classics: Hip Hop Hooray, OPP, Feel Me Flow, Clap Yo Hands, and more! Buy it if U R a true hip-hop fan!
all that you will ever need by nbn.......2000-01-23
it seems that every summer that naughty has a catchy song and then disappears.and this disc sums up their careers perfectly.catchy and something to bounce to like hip hop hooray, opp&feel me flow but nothing that is classic or essential still give them credit for surviving the rap game for a solid decade.

It may not be nice to fool with Mother Nature, as the saying goes, but Nature's Fury, Naughty by Nature's fourth LP (not counting the greatest-hits compilation Nature's Finest), really is more of a mild storm front than a hurricane. When they stick with the formula that made them famous--catchy loops fronted by relatively innocuous rhymes, but with a furious delivery--Naughty do well (see "Jamboree"). But on too many of the tracks here, NBN play host to a guest star--Big Pun, Krayzie Bone, and a host of No Limit all-stars, among others--and find themselves playing second fiddle. On one of the album's best tracks, "Radio," Naughty indiscriminately plunder the past, with a backing track that nicks LL Cool J's classic of the same name, lyrics that hark back to Run DMC ("I'm the nigga hip-hop / There is none higher / Sucka motherf**kers better call me sire!"), and a "la-di-da-di-da" chorus. Other songs find Naughty going reggae, dance-floor pop, and, on "Thugs & Hustlers," into Timbaland's quirky neighborhood. They handle each chore like pros, but never once do they sound like a group with anything to say for themselves. --Randy Silver

Im not trying to diss but this album is not that good but it gets 3 stars from me because of the song Jamboree but I do like Naughty
What happened? This can't be!.......2005-11-21
It's been four years since Treach(rapper), Vinnie(rapper), and Kaygee(producer) of Naughty By Nature has released an album, when I heard that Naughty By Nature was going to relase this LP (Nature's Fury), I got excited and got myself when it hit the stores. Sadly, after listening to the entire album, I was greatly dissappointed.
Overall, this album has more of a commerical/pop vibe as oppose to the hardcore, gritty tales from the hood they're known for. Tracks such as "Holiday", "Jamboree", "The blues", and "We could do it" are nothing more than pop hits as they try to attract a new audience. Second, there's too many guest appearnaces on this album, Treach and Vinnie are more than capable of spitting hot lyrics on a full LP. Instead artists such as Big Pun("We Could do it"), Master P, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal("Live or Die"), and Krayzie Bone ("Thugs-n-Hustlers") just to name a few dominate the entire song making Naughty By Nature look like a guset appearance as oppose to being the main attraction. In my opinion, they should of stick to the formula that made their first three albums such a success, remember "O.P.P.", "Hip Hop Horray", and "Feel Me Flow"? That's the real Nuaghty By Nature!
Don't get this album or their 2002 ablum, iiconz, which is even worse than Nautre's Fury, Instead get any one of their previous album before 1999, first album (which is self-titled), second album is 19 Naughty III, and third album is Poverty's Paradise, or get all three! You won't be dissapointed, trust me!
Not so good.......2005-01-28
I bought this in a bargain bin somewhere thinking it was nineteen naughty threen (my bad) boy was i dissapointed not much else to say 'cept its mediocre at best. Big Pun's (Legend R.I.P.) verse was really just acouple notches above weak please dont buy it. get nineteen naughty three instead.

A great party cd by Naughty By Nature. A great ninth cd by this group.
They can do better.......2002-01-08
For almost a decade, Naughty has been my favorite group. Before Biggie and Jay-Z mixed hard street flavor with radio friendly hip hop jams, there was the Illtown trio. But the problem with Nature's Fury is that they stray to much from the formula that made them so great. It's almost like they realized people were forgetting about them, so they employed a bunch of popular guests (Master P, Big Pun, Krayzie Bone) and adapted their sound to what is popular today. And it doesn't work. Fortunately, songs like "Ring The Alarm", "Dirt All By Lonely" and "Radio" stick to the old Naughty style and prove they still have it. So get back in the studio and bust out some hip hop JER-Z hits.

Though not groundbreaking by any means, IIcons reaffirms that Naughty still has their party groove going on, and the groove is fine. Treach definitely isn't shy about saying so, laying claim to his group's place in hip-hop history throughout with words like "When you say 'Naughty by Nature' you say the word 'icon.'" And if you think about it, he's right. The Illtown, New Jersey, duo has been around since the early '90s, and they boast a string of monster hits (notably "O.P.P." and "Hip Hop Hooray") that helped prove rappers can cultivate a pop sound while maintaining their ever-important street credibility. But can these icons hang in today's uneasy rap scene? Of course. Treach's sharp flow and Vinnie's personable delivery are complemented by an array of producers and guests. Da Beatminerz lace a squealing trumpet riff throughout "Naughty by Nature," adding emphasis to Carl Thomas's reggae-inflected hook. Elsewhere, Pink's sultry vocals and dry asides power the club-friendly "What U Wanna Do," while "Feels So Good" is a surprisingly dance-oriented treat, thanks to 3LW's giddy chorus. --Rebecca Levine

Naughty Not 02.......2006-08-10
not a horrible cd. but its only got a few songs on it that are good. a lot of ok songs. and few not very good ones. The Best song is FAMILY TREE and its the last song. every other naughty CD atleast a 4 rating. but if your a fan and a collector pick it up otherwise pass on this one.
Didn't feel this at all.......2006-04-15
It pains me to see how far these dudes have fallen. No ones heard a peep out these dudes since this trash tanked like muthaph***. The best and only good track is Rock and roll feat. RED & Meth. The rest is trash. That track wit 3L hoes... Trash. If you want good music by naughty by nature pick up Povertys Paradise. That s*** is a classic. Next to they early albums this aint nuthin at all.
Not what they used to be..........2006-01-22
I'm sorry to all you Naughty By Nature fans and as much as I [respect]them, this garbage has put them in a new low. No acting grimy like in Uptown Anthem or O.P.P., but you got them dancing in videos with the song Feels Good with 3LW, and on other songs trying to act hard with Lil Jon. There are a few good songs here like Rock and Roll with Method Man and Redman, which manages to somewhat keep this album alive (suprisingly giving this album 2 stars and not 1), and I'm feeling the song with Pink, but the other songs are just swings and misses. I miss the Naughty By Nature's: 19 Naughty 3 and their self titled album. Hopefully there next album (if there is one) will be better than this right here, because if they keep this up, and they maybe down to the point where they won't be able to come back.
definitely not their best stuff.......2004-11-24
Two songs saved this CD from total disaster, Iicons and Wild Mo***** with Lil Jon. Other than that, the rest of the songs are average at best. It's definitely not like their older material. They changed their style I think, and not for the better either.
I wouldnt recommend this to fans of their old stuff, but- take a listen for yourself first of course and see what ya think... I wasnt too happy myself. (The song IIcons rules though!!!!)
4.25 STARS.......2004-11-03
This Is An Awesome Album. It Features The Hit "Feels Good" Featuring 3LW. The Other Stand-Out Tracks Are "Iicons", "Rock And Roll" Featuring Redman And Methodman, "Swing Swang", "Rah Rah", "Let Me Find Out" And "Wild Muthaf**kas" Featurin Lil' Jon And Chyna Whyte. Overall, I Think This Album Is Definitely Worth Having In Your Collection.

Naughty's Review.......1999-09-08
Although I realize that this song clearly has no ravishing lyrics....its still a jam. For those who are bitter because this song reminds them of hip hop hooray and OPP...I'd just like to say that those were the days that you could go to a party and genuinely have a good time. It was a relief to hear people singing about something everyone can relate to ...rather than things they don't have. Jamboree catches your attention and would make anyone with a shread of "real" party bob their heads...even if just a little bit.
I gotta give some props to this song!.......1999-09-04
I gotta give some props to this song. It's just a fun song with fun lyrics and the video just makes me happy (ah, what I would give to be just in one of those classic rap videos with all the bikini girls and swimming pools). Anyway, too bad this music is pretty much inane lyrically. At least they're not negative though. --Kelly Magovern
