Freinds don't let friends rock alone.......2007-07-18

Another great release from this steam-rolling Boston band. This time around the boys really show off their musical chops and this is the most eclectic Death Before Dishonor release to date. You'll hear shades of punk, old school hardcore, thrash, rock, classic metal and just about everything in between. DBD even give a nod to English Oi and Boston's long bootboy tradition on a hidden bonus track. Technically the tracks are pulled off with precision timing (musicianship and studio engineering = A+) and you can tell that the years and months on the road have really molded this band into a tight unit. Lyrically things seem to have changed a bit too - the "life is hell" sentiment is the same, but the anger is articulate. Vocally I like the new trend - it sounds unique and nothing like the screamo-death-metal style vocals that have been all the rage for the last few years. The hatred, depression and rage seems, dare I say, real and heartfelt.
Great, great CD and perhaps the hardest release of 2007. No one can touch these guys right now.

This is old school hardcore from a great young band. Lean and mean with great beats and one hell of a baseline. Rock On!

Nothing to rave about here!.......2007-05-23

A dig this band alot, True till death is great as is FFF but this release is lacking. It's not as brutal, it seems they tried to make it more old school hardcore-ish. Which is great if you like old school hardcore alot but me a want something in your face brutal with some furious breakdowns. This has more of a punk sort of hardcore feel to it but it still worth a listen, after all it is DBD.

Good ~n~ Heavy.......2005-03-11

Certainly not doing anything different but this cd is just enough for me to give it a decent rating. I enjoyed listening to the whole album all the way through, not a single song thats lacking here. The only thing that I have to gripe about is how much these guys remind me of 100 Demons. It seems like this is a lost album from 100 Demons. I really like the vocalist and his different approach to delivery. He doesn't go straight with the spoken word growling he actually throws a little bit of yelling and harmony in too. Surprising! This album isn't going to turn the hardcore world on its head by an means but it is certainly an album worth checking out if you like stuff like 100 Demons, Hatebreed, Throwdown, etc.

Product Description

Prometheus Records presents the original motion picture soundtrack to DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR, the 1987 action film directed by the great stunt coordinator Terry Leonard, starring Fred Dryer (HUNTER), Brian Keith, Paul Winfield and the beautiful Joanna Pacula (GORKY PARK), featuring exciting music composed by the great Australian composer Brian May (ROAD GAMES, THE ROAD WARRIOR). Fred Dryer plays Gunnery Sergeant Burns, who is not having a good day. Recently reassigned to Embassy duty in the Middle East, he finds himself having to answer to a milquetoast American Ambassador who severely restricts the ability of Burns and his men to do their duty for fear of upsetting the local government. Armed with this knowledge, terrorists are able to kidnap hostages and escape with very little opposition. Burns decides to ignore Ambassador Milquetoast and throws his rule book out the window, becoming (in typical 1980’s action film fashion) a one man army in his quest to rescue the hostages and wipe out the terrorists. Prometheus Records presents DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR with additional music not included on the initial LP release.

Released in 1983, PHAR LAP chronicled the stirring true story of the renowned champion New Zealand-born race horse who suddenly and mysteriously died in 1933 in America. The film starred Tom Burlinson of SNOWY RIVER fame and went on to blockbuster grosses during its lengthy run in Australia. ZEUS AND ROXANNE (1997) is another animal-themed favorite, this time following the adventures of a lovable canine and a dolphin with Steve Guttenberg and Kathleen Quinlan starring. This charming score reunites the composer with SNOWY RIVER director GEORGE MILLER.
