Album Description

French dance rock four-piece Black Strobe connects Norwegian death metal, French club anthems, and London super-producer Paul Epworth. Few bands manage to combine guitars and electronics as successfully. The first single, "Shining Bright Star", is a stunning marriage of gut-butting bass guitar, droning synth, and menacing but melodic vocals. The opening track, "Brenn di Ega Kjerke" ("Burn Your Own Church"), is a nod to black metal. The flip side to the band's personality is "Girl Next Door", as downbeat and spooky as a 4 a.m. walk home, and the most surprising moment is a high-octane electronic cover of Bo Diddley's "I'm A Man", which will be the second single. The sum of these parts is a jaw-dropping debut.

The music transcends religious sectarianism, however, and is intended as a soundtrack for anyone interested in the journey inward and the power of thought. It was directly inspired by the writings of Ernest Holmes, Florence Shinn and Raymond Holliwell.

Richard Bone has in recent years established himself as one of the leading exponents of Ambient music.
This, his latest work, is quite possibly one of his best collections of work in this field - gentle, soulful, soothing, beautiful - a worthy purchase if this is your 'cup of tea'.
Send the kids up to bed, draw the curtains, dim the lights, light a candle and perhaps and some incense too...and relax.

Album Description

Songs from the Celtic tradition include the hit "Far Beyond." Old St. Patrick's Church observes a hallowed annual tradition called Siamsa na nGael, a Celtic celebration of songs, dance, and story. The organizers of this annual showcase of Irish talent saw fit on separate occasions to commission hailed Irish composer Liam Lawton to write three major works. Lawton, with the help of the combined choirs of Old St. Patrick's, recorded several selections from these three works plus a number of newly composed songs to create his new CD, Sacred Land.

A radical extremist group called HYPE Nation has invaded the church of America with their new release HYPER- Activity. I must warn you this project is not for the squeamish. It seems that the producer had no plans of being accepted by the mainstream or even getting a record deal. If he had been after fame and notoriety he would not have dealt with controversial topics.They intentionally wanted to drive home the point of Holiness which is part of the acronym for HYPE, which means HOLY YOUNG PEOPLES EXCITEMENT. The Song "Gotta Live" is an answer to Donny McClurkin's "We fall Down, But We Get UP." The song agrees yes we fall down and we get up -- "so get up!" The emphasis is definitely on the "getting up" rather the "falling down!" Even the Nora Jones- sounding song "My Life Has Changed" sends the strong message that since I am saved I am definitely changed, which also infers the opposite if I am not changed then I am not saved. But no song is more controversial than the first song "I Aint Witit!" This clearly draws a definite line in the sand for the Church, either we are against Homosexuality or we are for it-- "Which side are you on?" Even though it is a serious topic HYPE Squad has fun with it, which adds to the audacity of the song itself. Its almost as if they get the hard core stuff out of the way first and then blesses the listener with worship, praise, and then the encouragement that God is always with you with the urban ballad "I will Never Leave You." The CD ends with an awesome appeal to come to Christ "just as you are" in the song "He Loves You" Then finally they take you to church with "Give Him A Praise" I promise you that you will either love it or hate it.
