Skoolz of Thought emerge as a Power.......2003-10-23
These guys, in my opinion, are picking up where the Roots and Mountain Brothers left off. I'm not saying I don't like the other two as much, but the Roots seem to have almost changed their sound to rock, while the Mounatin Brother's new album is lacking the quality of their first album. Skhoolz of Thought has some of the sickest flow in the industry, and they are worthy of a five. I'm surprised that these guys haven't caught more people's attention, but I'll garauntee if they continue to develop on top of the skills they posess, these guys could be real big in the underground.
Some of the best tracks:
3. Heart and Soul- Nothing too special beat-wise, but it serves as a good introductory platform for these guys flow and how they mesh together.
4. Just like this?- This track has an interesting beat, and reminded me right away of the Roots. The MC's light it up.
5. Perpetual Motion- At first, this song sounded kinda like a tripped out club song, but the more I listened to it, the more I like it. The rapping here is awesome.
11. Wanna Holla- The best song on the album, hands down. This song gave me such adrenaline rushes, I'd have to go the gym after a listen sometimes. The beats, flows, and guest mc's destroy the track. One of the best underground songs of the year.
