Not another pop/punk band.......2003-05-27

This is a must have.
The CD sounds great and the musicians are all really good players but what really stands out are the SONGS. Unlike a lot of bands in the catch-all pop/punk genre the Flipsides have catchy hooks, strong melodies and great arrangements.
Propulsive bass lines, great harmonies and dynamic drumming anchor aggresive guitar and great vocals with just the right amount of sneer.
There is no excess in these 12 songs; they all get right to the point. No filler here.
I am not a fan of the run of the mill simplistic sing-song three chord done before wanna be punk junk that clogs the airwaves; this CD is more than a cut above and it really stands up to repeated spins.

This band rips! Considering 95% of all pop-punk is beyond annoying, its refreshing to encounter a band that not only [isn't bad], but is actually really, really good! They are definately pop-punk and although this is normally like nails-on-a-chalkboard to me (excluding the classics, of course: The Queers, Screeching Weasel, etc.), The Flipsides retain enough of the "punk" sound on their album to avoid sounding like the cheesy "powerpop-bands-that-like-to-pretend-they're-punk-bands" that pervade the mainstream music industry. The Flipsides album, as well as their live performance, is spectacular. Sabrina's guitar and vocals really shine. If you like The Eyeliners, you'd probably enjoy The Flipsides as well.

fantastic garage punk.......2003-03-20

three words: buy this cd. I saw these guys live at CBGB's a few days ago, and even though they were the opening band out of four, they (and the 2nd opening band - The Real McKenzies) were the definitive highlights of the entire night. I'm sitting here drooling while i wait for amazon to ship me this cd. Great garage punk, kind of like a poppier Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Download a few songs off the net and see for yourself, but if you do like these guys, please, spend the money and buy the cd, they are a small band on a small label and deserve your money.

great trio of punk music.......2002-11-17

i got this album after seeing them live. this band is great punk rock. the songs two weeks and so discustedstand out as my favorite. even if you dont fully like punk rock, this album is for you, your frioends and your mom

Great CD!!.......2002-05-10

I first saw The Flipsides about a year ago, and when I did, I was totally impressed. This ep shows the band's amazing guitar riffs, great vocals, and superb music writing abilities. Check 'em out if you like DHC, Fab. Disaster,Green Day, or any toher good pop/punk band.

I went to there concert where they opened for DHC and they put on a great show... and this cd is great!... If you like DHC or any other girl SKA bands you will love this!.. great buy!
