can't wait for another album..........2003-10-09

hey, i bought this cd in 1997 when it came out. i bought the single "Make up your mind" (feat. Big Daddy Kane) before the album was released. I was so impressed with these four talented ladies' voices after hearing "Make Up Your Mind" so i enjoyed every bit of their debut CD. I am waiting for them to come out with some new material soon. Are they still together? or did they break up? I'm not sure. Anyways, if you're skeptical about getting this album, don't be, you won't be disappointed after you hear the first few songs off this CD, you'll wanna hear the whole album! so pick it up today!

A GREAT ALBUM!.......2003-10-05

This is a great album with great songs. The ladies can really can sing. There isn't a bad song on here. Best songs are "Trust,"
"First You Said," "Make Up Your Mind," and "What We Have Is Much More" Get this CD today if you don't already own it or arent sure of buying it. These girls don't disappoint their listener.

Ladies with Phlavor!.......2003-10-03

Wow! these Ladies can really sing! and they have Phlavor!!
Alot of tracks on their debut album is great too!
Most beautiful songs on this album are "What we have is much more (than they can see)," "Just Be Patient," "First You Said," and "Can't get you off my mind." They have great potential and great vocals. Kisha, Tiffany, Julia and Antonia are a good singing quartet. Shame they only came out with one album tho. I believe Julia was in the move "Ride" which also had Kellie Williams and female rapper Lady Of Rage starring in it too.
So that shows one of the girls in this group can not only sing but act as well. It's a great album! from beginning to end! you won't find yourself skipping thru any tracks unless they're the interludes with the guest rappers rappin' and u find it annoying then you'll probably skip them. Go and get this album today!!

DECENT.......2003-09-17

Assorted Phlavors debut was a series of good ballads mixed with so-so uptempo songs. The lead single "Make up your mind" is a slamming jam featuring Big Daddy Kane. "Hiding Place (featuring Patra) is another good uptempo song. The rest of the uptempo songs dont leave any lasting impressions.

The strength of the album lies in the ballads. "Trust" has a seductive groove and the vocals are just as alluring. "First you said" is another love jam that would have been a hit had it been released. The funky groove takes you back to the days of Keith Sweat or Guy. The biggest misstep on the album though is a remake of LTD'S "Love Ballad". It does not fit the group and clearly they were not up to par to perform it.

A Decent group of vocalists, but with the amount of songs it should have been more consistent. Another album maybe could have done them justice.

Get it while you still can!.......2002-06-20

This album is a true gem. Of course, most people have never heard of Assorted Phlavors. This is the only album that they put out, and they have basically fallen off the face of the planet unnoticed. They are yet another R&B act who got screwed over by their record label, not getting the promotion and exposure that they deserved.

This CD is a must-have if you cherish the commercial R&B sounds of the mid-90's, pre-Timbaland era. It has a nice balance of sultry slow jams and hip-hop infused tracks to nod your head to. It's worth purchasing this CD just for "Patience" and "Make Up Your Mind," which in my mind are two of the best songs that came out in 1996. Sure, there are a few fillers here and there, but the entire album flows very nicely and has a smooth, laid back groove. I wish more people had noticed this awesome album!
