This is another ska covers compilation featuring old-style bands such as the Toasters, Bim Skala Bim, and Skavovie & the Epitones. They cover TV tunes such as the themes from Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, and Get Smart, as well as classic rock songs such as Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love" and Black Sabbath's "Paranoid." It's a strange but effective mix, and it's usefully for illustrating exactly how any sound can be skankified with the right elements. --Jim Derogatis

Lots Of Replayability!!! Great CD.......2005-06-06

I'm outside the US for an extended time so I loaded all my cd's
into my notebook. This one, Skandalous:I got You Covered is one of my favorites now! I picked it up a few years ago browsing through a cd bin and its been a while since I tuned to it but today when me notebook on random hit "Police Woman" I was like, oh man is that just awesome?! I've played to death my Specials, English Beat, Madness, Selector stuff and if your in the same boat wanting some different Ska check this disk out. For the low price it's selling for it's a great buy!

I am not usually a big fan of ska (read: I hate it, save for the classics -- The English Beat, The Specials, etc.), but this compilation has got some great covers! The standards aren't that interesting, but the cover of Paranoid by Black Sabbath rivals The Cardigans' version of Iron Man, and the tv themes are genius! Anyone who is a fan of tv theme songs should pick this one up.

Not as good as Volume 1.......2000-11-06

I am not a big Ska fan, but I was pleasantly surprised by the "Skandalous: Gotcha Covered" CD. In Volume 2, the covers just aren't as strong as those in the original. The Hawaii-5-0 Theme is the only one that might appeal to a non-ska fan. The rest of the CD sounds like every other ska song I've heard, so it might appeal to a hardcore ska fan.

great collection of songs. there are a few i dont know but there are also a ton of great classics. try el pussycat by the timeless skatalites and the hawaii five-o cover is great too. a song i found by accident but is incredible is 'mother' by the independents with evil presley at his best. awesome cd

dude...this cd is pretty good...the only problem? some of the covers are of songs id never heard of...but theyre still really good songs...and the ones you will recognize (la bamba, turning japanese, hawaii 5-0) are great...this is a cd youll wanna listen to over and over

Old-style R&B at its best.......2003-01-02

Joe Tex stands in the tradition of James Brown and this varied album displays his funky style to the full with its mix of raunchy, fast-paced numbers like I Gotcha and You Said A Bad Word, plus beautiful ballads like The Woman Cares and For My Woman, plus rootsy funk workouts like Love Me Right Girl. The rolling R&B of Bad Feet comes close to classic early rock `n roll, while my favorite is Takin' A Chance with its moving organ and rousing trumpets. God Of Love is another gripping love song with a catchy hook. The lovely arrangements give the sound a Stax-Volt feel that perfectly suits Tex's warm and versatile voice. This album with its great songs and exuberant delivery is a little known classic and well worth investigating if you're into rootsy southern soul and funk.
