About the Artist
My name is Gio,

Born in Florence, Italy in 1972. I moved to the United States in 1979. I was a member of a big church that was reaching out to innercity youth. It was 1987 and the Rap Industry was in it's beginning stages. Our Pastor thought it would be good to do christian rap so he asked a group of us to see what we could come up with. It was a cool experience and after that I kind of just kept it up like a hobby. I started writing and learning the art of Rhythmatic Poetry. Listening to various artists/bands such as Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions, Too Short, Ice Cube. These artists were a little more appealing to me as a teenager. These and many other artist's, "not just rappers"; helped me develop as a musician. My music teacher in High School, My Piano Instructor and Guitar Instructor; all helped me to gain more knowlege in the music industry.

In 1996 I was burnt out so I stopped doing music and started going to school for Telecommunication Electronics. I was fascinated at the complexity of series and parallel circuits, it was challenging to learn a new trade. After I recieved my Certification for Telecommunications Electronics Service Technician I decided that I needed to learn how to fix computers also. I enrolled in a college and studied Computer Electronics. After recieving my Certification for Computer Electronics, I started writing songs using my computer software in sync with my Korg Triton Pro X Keyboard. In 2001 I started Smash Hit Records based in San Francisco, CA. Finally in May of 2002 I released the album entitled "Just 4 Speakin Up".
