    Album Description

It all begins when the lights go down. For Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus, it has been that way since they were playing for a handful of people in a club in Nashville's Printers Alley. These days, of course, they play for thousands of screaming fans a night, drawn by state-of-the-art production and sound, and by spectacular vocal harmonies in service to an ever-expanding catalogue of hits. In between, it was the magic of those performances that catapulted Rascal Flatts into the front ranks of entertainers in all genres.

By any measure, Rascal Flatts is in elite territory. They are the reigning 2006 CMA, ACM and CMT Vocal Group of the Year. In 2005 they added Billboard and R&R Artist of the Year trophies as well. The trio also picked up its first three Grammy nominations in 2005, and their "Bless The Broken Road" received the Grammy for Country Song of the Year. Coming off the biggest selling artist album of 2006, Rascal Flatts is geared up for their brand new album coming on September 25.

Monsoon Wedding is Mychael Danna's second collaboration with film director Mira Nair, (Kama Sutra was the first), and he has again compiled a winning soundtrack. Danna explores a wide range of emotions, from solemn to celebratory, through different generations of Indian culture. The contemplative "Good Indian Girls" and "Hold Me, I'm Falling" feature Danna's trademark piano ambience over traditional Indian instrumentation, and the vivacious "Baraat" sounds like a Punjabi variation on Dixieland, while "Delhi.com" ventures into dreamy ethno-techno territory. Sukhwinder Singh's "Today My Heart Desires" serves up lively bhangra rock, and Laxmikant Pyarelal's "Today the Weather Plays Tricks on Me" (performed by Mohammed Rafi) swoons with strings and male vocals. In all, the soundtrack's pleasing variety of Eastern music mirrors the film's old and new worlds living within a singular culture. --Bryan Reesman

5 out of 5 stars Monsoon Wedding Soundtrack is Terrific.......2007-05-18

I really enjoyed the movie and was pleased to find the soundtrack. Great cd if you're a fan of Bollywood!

    5 out of 5 stars Loved it!.......2007-03-24

I just saw the movie MONSOON WEDDING and I absolutely loved it! Of course, I just HAD to have the soundtrack, so I bought the Cd recently and loved it too! WOW!

The Cd will leave you in a happy mood... Wonderful up-beat songs, many are so danceable and hipnotic. I've been playing this Cd all week ...I just wish it were longer because I would love to have more Cds like this in my Cd collection.

5 out of 5 stars Just as fabulous as the movie!.......2007-01-31

This is an excellent soundtrack from an excellent movie. The music is fantastic - makes you want get up and move your feet! It's got such a happy, wistful, exotic flavor throughout the CD. I think this will probably be one that I wear out from listening to it so much!

5 out of 5 stars Love It, Love It, Love It.......2007-01-21

I just love this CD. I'm preferential to the work of Mychael Danna and this is another awesome work of his. There is everything from old Indian love ballads to the popular Bollywood music of today, with some very beautiful instrumentals in between.

I'd recommend seeing the movie too. As well, I'd check out Danna's music for another Mira Nair movie, "Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love."

    4 out of 5 stars Culture-Happy-Dance-Reflect-Appreciate-Savor-Relax-Laugh.......2006-11-06

Above I listed some words that first came to mind when I thought about this cd.
It is very Culture rich and soaked in Indian flavor. It's colorful and makes you happy with a laugh or two; as it seeks to portray the traditional music typical of a Punjabi wedding in Delhi, India.
You want to dance with most songs and sit quietly to reflect with others. I listed appreciate because we often don't sit back to appreciate the richness that other cultures provide. My 2 year old appreciates this music in her broken wanna be Hindi mimic.
She dances as does my 6 year old to this music. It's really a great CD but I would recommend seeing the movie first.

I remember hearing the song "Feels so Good" every once and a while as a child in the late 70s/early 80s, and it's one of those songs that simply stays with you. Fast forward a couple decades (holy cow! almost thirty years!!!), it sounds as good today as it did so many years ago. The entire cd is outstanding. I just wish the Theme from "Side Street" was a few minutes longer. Definitely a must have.

2 out of 5 stars Feels Sorta Good.......2005-10-04

The only problem I've ever had with Chuck Mangione is that he plays sharp all the time. Other than that- I love his stuff. I also agree that the title track is fab, but especially the guitar solo is stellar. He, unfortunately, gets cut off right as he's starting to cook. Quite frustrating!

    5 out of 5 stars Chuck's my 1st introduction of Jazz.......2005-01-15

This is definitely my favorite albums and the first jazz album I got inspire and influenced in jazz. Chuck Mangione was the first jazz endeavor I ever experienced when I was a child. I actually love his playing and love how he sounds. He does his men playing along with him Grant Geissman, Charles Meeks, James Bradley Jr. and Chris Vadala. they all sound great knahmmean.

I luv every song that he did on this album and this is definitely going into the Jazz Hall of Fame or the Top List of Jazz Albums.

    I recommend the following albums:

    1. Miles Davis- Kind of Blue

    2. Maynard Ferguson- Conquistador

    3. Herb Alpert- Rise

    4. Freddie Hubbard- The Best of Freddie Hubbard, First Light, Above & Beyond, Hub-Tones, Straight Life, Life Flight, etc.

    5. Chet Baker- The Best Thing for You/You Can't Go Home Again

    6. Grover Washington, Jr.- Winelight, Come Morning, Mister Magic, The Best of Grover Washington, Jr.

    7. Marvin Gaye- The Best of Marvin Gaye (Motown Anthology Series)

    8. Miles Davis- Live Around the World, Tutu, Doo-Bop, Aura, The Man with the Horn, Bitches Brew, etc.

    9. Marvin Gaye- Dream of a Lifetime, Romantically Yours, Vulnerable (3 great final releases from the legendary Marvin Gaye)

    10. Barry White- All-Time Greatest Hits, The Ultimate Collection, Can't Get Enough, The Icon is Love, The Man is Back, etc.

Just to name a few list I can recommend to this album. He sounds a bit like Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Chet Baker, Donald Byrd, Art Farmer whom I listen to the most.

5 out of 5 stars Feels So Good!!!!!!!!.......2004-10-30

This album is the most famous Chuck Mangione album, and one of his best. His beautiful flugelhorn playing, his magnificent leadership, and his brilliant song writing skills all make this album a true masterpiece. Everything in this album flows! Mangione clearly knew how to write music with feeling, and boy could he play! His band, sure had something to do with the magic of this album.
    Chris Vadala:
On tenor and soprano saxophones, alto, and c flutes, and piccolo. He is without a doubt, one of the best reedists Mangione ever had in his band lineup. Gerry Neiwood was the other master! Chris Vadala's playing is so unique and his sound is extraudinary, and soulful. His magic adds so much more to the music of this album. His solo on Feels So Good is magnificent. I still find myself humming it over and over, hours after I've played it.
    Grant Geissman:
On acoustic, electric, classical, and 12 string guitars, Grant Geissman, just might of played one of the greatest guitar solos in jazz history. Yes, you guessed it; the solo on Feels So Good. It's a wonder, he didn't spend hours and hours working it out, since it's so melodic.
    Charles Meeks:
Funky, "Meet Man" Meeks. One of the grooviest bass players ever! He adds some hippness to the album.
    James Bradley Jr:
Every drummer should learn from this master. Although some might not call him a master at this time, because he was only 18 years old. Well accomplished, who had a role in Cool Hand Luke when he was 7, was a child prodigy on the drums. He cools it down a little bit, on this album, but makes up for it, in color. Some nice conga playing on 11th Commandment.
The first song, Feels So Good, is Mangione's classic! Still, after 25 years, it's still loved by pop and jazz fans alike.
Here, the way it originally was issued, the full 9 minute version. With the edited version, so much magic was lost, and until this day, gone forever. Next up, Maui Waui. One of the most melodic songs ever; Chris Vadala's flute playing adds to the warmth and beauty of the piece. Theme From Side Street, is one of the greatest songs by Mangione, ever! The melody, the hook, the groove, it's all there. Number 4 is, Hide And Seek. Another classic. Great solos by all! I particularly love Vadala's soprano solo, and Geissman's guitar solo. Last Dance, is another pretty piece. It has a beautiful acoutsic guitar solo, by Grant Geissman. The last piece, 11th Commandment; another classic. Charles Meeks, and James Bradley Jr. are featured soloists here. Meeks's bass solo is really blusey and down to earth. After some splap bass by Meeks, the piece picks up. James Bradley Jr's solo is perfect for this particular piece. Not too over powering, not at all, boring, just right! This is a classic album, and is still enjoyed by many. This album put Mangione on the map, and if you enjoy any fusion, or early contemporary jazz, you'll love Mangione's music!

"Feels Good" is the ultimate showcase for these award winning Take 6 acapeilla vocals. Yes, this is jazz, yes, this is R&B and yes, this is soul/gospel. Still hard to categorize, "Feels Good" is the finest Take 6 music heard in years.

I love Take 6. I almost wore out their CD "So Much 2 Say" I loved it so much. Then I bought their "Beautiful World" CD and was disappointed they were going instrumental on me! Not to fear, Take 6 came back to their A Capella roots with a vengeance! This CD is just incredible! I have sang in A Capella groups for years, but never produced anything remotely close to the amazing blend that is Take 6. Incredible vocals, outstanding lyrics and brilliant arranging! Buy it!

    5 out of 5 stars Excellent CD.......2007-03-08

What can I say about Take 6...This CD is just another reminder of how great and untouchable Take 6 is. I met them in person, they're great guys with phenominal musical talent, funny and down to earth. The baddest contemporary/Gospel/Jazz/R&B/Acapella vocal group ever.

5 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE GOSPEL ALBUM! 5 STARS!!.......2006-12-28

If you buy just ONE gospel CD this year, buy this one. Great a cappella from a masterful group that's been doing it for a very long time. Track 6 is amazing! This is a music lover's CD.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Take 6.......2006-12-19

For me, a hard-core Take 6 fan, this is their best work since their original album. It might be their best work, period. I have it on my ipod and cannot stop playing it. They've enhanced their unique acapella stylings with updated arrangements (see "More Than Ever"). The range and intensity of this album makes it a classic. There is no better vocal group in the world. I defy anyone to listen to the title cut and not be uplifted.

5 out of 5 stars This album just "Feels Good"!!!.......2006-07-20

Man, when i listen to this album, all that I hear is the fun that they must've had while recording it. It sounds like they kicked it in the studio, And, this album just feels good, too. Plus, they just sound phenominal together. This album, in my opinion, is their best album. I would be listening to it right now, but I let my dad borrow it and I ain't seen it since. Shoot, I can't even blame him. I mean, I like genres like hiphop, r&b, neosoul, smooth jazz, etc., but I have got to say that this album is topping all the other albums I have in my collection. Man, I love this album!!!

For right-minded buyers of the reissued Muppet Christmas Carol soundtrack, the odds of disappointment are about as remote as Miss Piggy's chances with Kermit. If you loved the movie, you will love the loopy mayhem of the Muppet Brass Buskers ("Good King Wenceslas"), the cartoonish malice of the black-hearted misanthropes Marley & Marley ("Marley & Marley"), and the hope-swollen harmonies of Tiny Tim and Family ("Bless Us All"), Muppeted here to hilariously humble effect. If, on the other hand, your interest in this disc has more to do with its inclusion in the way-narrow Christmas-record-for-kids category--if the spirit of the season doesn't extend, for you, to the magic of the Muppets--you may want to keep browsing, as it's a soundtrack first (overture, instrumentals, and all) and a Christmas CD second. That's not to suggest you're stuck with an un-fun disc should it land on your holiday stack without a prior screening, though. Miles Goodman's score sweeps and inspires, and certain tracks--"One More Sleep 'til Christmas" and "Fozziwig's Party"--are future classics. (Note to the right-minded: After a misstep on the original release, Martina McBride's version of "When Love is Gone" is back.) -Tammy La Gorce

    Customer Reviews:

    4 out of 5 stars Finally released.......2007-05-23

If your Christmas isn't complete without listening to this music, this CD is a must buy. The audio quality is excellent despite the age of the film. Michael Cain and Belle come out crystal clear in their solo and ensemble work. The surprise of this album is the inclusion of two tracks (one by Beaker and Bunson and one by Scrogge's primary school teacher) that are not in the film. They are fun but unexpected. I could only ask that the CD last longer with such beautiful traditional music, but alas there is no more music to include. Maybe they could market Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island together in the future?

    5 out of 5 stars Good CD.......2007-02-14

Amazing the songs are so cleaver and i have bee waiting for this for a long time, it has been out of print great cd and the movie is so awesome!!

4 out of 5 stars Holiday Classic with Kermit , Miss Piggy, and Michael Caine.......2007-01-12

The score from The Muppet Christmas Carol is full of the spirit of Christmas. The familiar story by Dicken's is given new life with the great score (mostly written by Paul Williams). Great energy is relayed to the listener as Scrooge (Michael Caine)is painted in words and as Bob Cratchet (Kermit the Frog) sings with his co-workers 'One More Sleep 'Til Christmas'. The love song duet between Scrooge (Michael Caine) and his fiancee during a ghostly vision brings great pathos to the character. For lovers of the Muppets and or Dickens, there is no better way to enter into the spirit of the season.

    5 out of 5 stars Awesome.......2007-01-08

These are some of the most heartwarming songs. I even find myself singing the ones about poor Mr. Scrooge.

5 out of 5 stars To Live Without It = Best........2007-06-05

To Live Without it MAKES this EP. SUCH A GOOD SONG! Whole EP is great of course, even the covers and the remix, but that song is the best song, like, ever. HIGHLY recommended for fans of Spill Canvas

    5 out of 5 stars You can't deny it. Sorry. . ........2007-05-02

If there's one thing wrong with Ep, it's that it's an Ep and not a full-length. Five songs just don't seem to be enough. I was hoping, when I heard about its release, that they'd put "Rock Bottom" on this. Sadly, it is missing, and those who did not get that free download last year, will have to live without it. (Yet another pun. I apologize.) It's a shame really, because five songs seem so short, and one extra song might have rounded it off perfectly.
That being said how are the songs that ARE on the Ep? They're good. Very good. It starts off with a "remix" of their first single off of One Fell Swoop: "Staplegunned." This is so similar to the original that it hardly qualifies as a remix, so if you like the original, you should have no complaints about this remix. Following that is a Fleetwood Mac cover "Gold Dust Woman." I've not heard the original version of this song, I'll admit. Still, it sounds so different from typical Spill Canvas that I have to wonder if they didn't leave it quite the same. It's more blues than I'm used to hearing from this band, but Nick Thomas pulls it off quite well. It's track three that really makes this Ep worth buying. It's the first really new song on the Ep called "To Live Without It." I don't think I've ever heard Nick's vocals sound this good before. This song only makes me want to skip summer so I can get to the release of their full length faster. If you're a fan of their heavier stuff, you should love this song. After that, they slow it down for the rest of the Ep with "Appreciation and the Bomb." Nick's song writing abilities are so amazing. This song is so open, so melancholy. I would say that this song could be his best song ever. The Ep ends with another cover. This time it's of folk-singer Donovan. I'm not a big fan of Donovan, but I have heard the original of this version. I believe TSC pull is off masterfully. It is just a quick little folk song.
So, in short, Denial is perhaps not for a newcomer to The Spill Canvas, but for us fans who have been around since Sunsets, this is a gem. It may not hold off the pangs of longing for another full length, but it will certainly whet the appetite.

      5 out of 5 stars Classic GWJ!.......2007-07-07

I paid (what I hope was a respectful) tribute to GWJ when I reviewed his Aria album a few weeks ago. I simply cannot praise the man enough. I'd gladly review all of his albums if only I could find the time. I just had to review this classic barnstormer from 1975 though, after just getting the CD after owning it on vinyl for years.

The album opens with the funky "The Sea Lion" with GWJ on tenor. The moody "Moonstreams" follows with the man on soprano and with some great guitar licks from Eric Gale. The tune got a modern workout when DMX sampled it for his song Slippin' on his 1998 album Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood. Then it's back to funky for the tenor driven "Knucklehead" and then on to my favourite tune of all, the title tune, also tenor driven (with another cute solo from Gale and one of those songs, like "Masterpiece" and "Black Frost" where GWJ just seems to blow on forever), before the album closes with "Hydra", another funky tune the intro to which I'm pretty sure has been used on another popular hip-hop tune; I just can't recall which one.

The album is produced by Creed Taylor, and arranged by Bob James with his trademark horn sections which here, included Randy Brecker and Jon Faddis. James also plays piano, electric piano and synthesizer. Also featuring is Eric Gale on guitar, bass is played by Louis Johnson (on "It Feels So Good" and "Hydra") and Gary King (on "Knucklehead", "Moonstreams" and "The Sea Lion"), drums are by Steve Gadd ("The Sea Lion" and "Moonstreams"), Jimmy Madison ("Knucklehead") and Kenneth 'Spider Webb' Rice ("It Feels So Good" and "Hydra"). Ralph McDonald plays percussion.

Bob James provides one composition, "The Sea Lion". "It Feels So Good" is written by Ralph McDonald and William Salter and all the other tunes are written by GWJ himself. Shockingly, the CD provides no information regarding the personnel that played on the album. It doesn't even show who produced it. I'm only able to share this information here because I wrote this review before I passed my old LP (which is still as good as new, by the way) on to a friend who's currently into collecting classic vinyl.

      Shame on you, Motown!

this is classic Grover! I rate this album as one of the best Grover's, vis -a-vis, Mr. Magic. It takes me back to the younger days!

3 out of 5 stars Grover Washington Jr - Feels So Good.......2007-05-13

Classic real fusion; waaaay before easy listening Kenny G stuff (Sorry Kenny). The reproduction is just Ok. But hey the masters are over 30 years old.

4 out of 5 stars Feels So Good..........2007-04-13

It's tough to compare this to "Mister Magic." It just can't be done! On its' own merits - I can honestly say that it's an enjoyable effort by Mr. Washington! Get yourself a copy and enjoy! Four stars!!

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME HOT FUNK!!!!.......2006-09-28

This is probably one of Grover Washington's most creative albums in his brilliant career! Overlooked and under-rated compared to his later (more commercialized) cds, this one was produced by the prolific Creed Taylor and arranged by the multi-talented Bob James. Every song is a full-bodied experience.

Recorded in 1975, this cd went to #1 on the Soul Charts and the Jazz Charts. Amazingly it also went to #10 on the Pop Charts. The title song was played quite often and the opening cut "The Sea Lion" made it to #1 on the Disco Charts. Grover had never been more free-spirited! A must have for Grover fans and/or those who love funky jazz.

5 out of 5 stars Feels good to me two.......2007-05-07

It dosn't get any better than this. This is one of the best record ever made. I can't find a single thing that dosn't fit me. This is really a classic jazz/rock recording and the lineup is superb. I also like the second album "One of a kind" but this one is a little bit better.
If you are a jazz/rock fan, you've got to have this one in your collection.

5 out of 5 stars First Solo Effort is First Rate.......2005-09-26

I purchased this recording as an LP upon its release in early 1978. For admirers of Bill's work since the first Yes album, his latest project, either as part of a group or as leader, meant another occasion to enjoy the latest creations of an artist who has remained true to a musical ethic of unabashed curiosity and courage. "Feels Good to Me", though his initial step into the dual roles of composer and ensemble leader, is neither tentative nor disappointing. To quote Richard Williams from the original liner notes: "...its combination of sureness and audacity evince durable achievement, and hold out provocative promise." He got it right.

Some of Bruford's best melodies are enhanced by great solos, complex meters, and Bill's crisp vibraphone overdubs. What a supporting cast: Holdsworth, Berlin, Stewart, Kenny Wheeler on flugelhorn, with a sprinkling of Annette Peacock's breathy vocals lending a late 70's touch of London-underground, avant-garde credibility to the undertaking.

Twenty-seven years after its initial release, and taken in context with Bruford's entire body of work to date, "Feels Good to Me" marks a transition from the occasionally grim experiments of King Crimson to a similarly bold, but melodic, jazz-fusion briskness. It's a "must-have" recording which documents the stage in Bruford's career when his signature syncopated, percussive approach and gift for distinctive melody reconcile, complementing an already highly-developed and ambitious musical creativity. This work, now reissued and remixed on CD and featuring additional material, not only documents the energy and excitement of this early chapter in Bruford's continuing maturation as a musician and composer, it illustrates how the current advanced state of those talents should not be a surprise to anyone.

3 out of 5 stars Good bruford matierial, BUT..........2003-02-18

It's Bruford's usual high-caliber playing, but IMHO nothing quite as exceptional as when he has the grounding/structure of Yes, but still fascinating in its own right. HOWEVER, the solo vocals just bite hard. I'm sorry, but they just don't fit. You can tell at some places she's not too sure what note she's supposed to be singing, she's way too high in the mix, etc. She's got a nice voice, but it just doesn't fit in this context. Other complaints are just a lack of structure. Seems to meander/noodle endlessly. I suggest listening to a friend's copy/sampler at your local used shop before laying down the cash.

      5 out of 5 stars Silver Anniversary.......2002-12-11

It's 25 years since this album was released and it stands the test of time remarkably well. This is also the first album that got me into Allan Holdsworth's playing - an interesting thing really as Allan apparently doesn't consider his playing from this period to be his best. In fact I seem to remember seeing the band play a couple of tracks on the Old Grey Whistle Test, after which I was hooked. Rather well recorded too - notably Robin Lumley (Brand X's keyboard player) shared the production credit with BB too - quite an intensity of talent in the project.

Speaking of talent and keyboard players I couldn't pass by without correcting David Hugaert's glaring error concerning Dave Stewart. Sorry David but the Dave Stewart on this recording is in no way connected with David A. Stewart of Eurythmics fame (the former is a musician for starters) but is in fact a time-served player from England's Canterbury scene of 70s and early 80s, featuring in such seminal outfits as National Health, Gong and Hatfield and the North. He's done some great work and remains one of my favourite keyboard players. It makes me shudder to think of comparing him with the other oaf......

Rant over - this is a great album with some wonderful energy and playing and showcases BB's perhaps unexpected (back then anyway) writing talents rather well. It's a great mix of sounds and, if you can soak up Annette Peacock's rather crystal-rubbing wowsiness without suffering too much psychodamage it's a real treat to dig out and blast again and again. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Don't leave home wothout it.......2002-02-17

Not much to say that hasn't been said about this 24 year old CLASSIC recording. Just wanted to add my 5 stars. I love Bill Bruford! Low spots include a thin roto-tom drum sound (on the rack toms at least) and the vocal/music mix is a little disjointed. So, lets make it 4.9998 stars.

5 out of 5 stars A Classic Start to Finish.......2007-05-20

Just had to say that anyone who enjoyed the original sound of the Doobies would love this album. The song "One-Way Ticket" is a classic and has appaarently been completely over-looked by the rock critics of the day. It's in the same vein as "China Grove", "Without You" and "The Doctor".

3 out of 5 stars A return to the classic Doobies sound.......2006-07-08

Tom Johnston's second solo album "Still Feels Good" is a solid outing for the founder and main vocalist for The Doobie Brothers during the early 70's. He's in fine voice throughout and the best songs sound like outtakes from "Stampede" or "What Were Vices Are Now Habits". Featuring stellar harmony vocals from Doobie Patrick Simmons, sax from the late Cornelius Bumpus (also a former Doobie having played with the Michael McDonald incarnation at the end)and the late Bobby LaKind (another former Doobie and conga player than appeared on many of the band's albums)Johnston's soulful vocals are a highlight on the album. His guitar playing is also top notch throughout(although it misses the interplay that he used to demonstrate with Pat Simmons)guitar player Greg Douglas provides a good foil for Johnston.

The majority of the songs from the opening "Madman" through to "Last Desperado" and "One-Way Ticket" have solid playing and enough hooks to satisfy Doobie fans who listened to Johnston's classics "China Grove", "Long Train Runnin'", "Listen to the Music" and "Another Park, Another Sunday". The only way this release could have been improved is to have liner notes discussing the making of the album (the booklet only has the original album credits)and perhaps some of Johnston's demos for songs that did and didn't make the album to round out this release. At 34 minutes its a quality release that probably could have been combined with Johnston's first solo album and/or augmented with additional material.

As someone else pointed out this probably could have been combined with Johnston's disco and R&B flavored first solo album as both combined run under 70 minutes. It's a pity that due to the cost of licensing the album that they couldn't provide us with outtakes and demos from the session. I would have been interested in hearing some of the acoustic demos that Tommy recorded put together for this album. I'd recommend this along with the Doobies boxed set "Long Train Runnin'".

Wounded Bird Records have consistently re-released low key minor classics over the last couple of years. Whether it be The Byrds on their underrated reunion or it be cult icon Marshall Crenshaw the label has done a good job of making music that a small group of fans love available again. They've done a fine job here re-releasing this overlooked gem.

      5 out of 5 stars Grossly underrated........2006-03-27

This album on vinyl got me through a lot in the early 80's. The record had gotten all worn out; and finally someone had the good sense to put it on cd. Wastin' time should have been a much bigger hit as well as the follow-up single baby take me in. However the tune Wishing is the one that has stuck with me through the years. This is a great album for Doobie fans or anyone else.

3 out of 5 stars Main Doobie Brother 2nd Solo Outing.......2005-07-20

This album is an improvement over the first solo record. Johnston's hope was probably to take his material beyond where it had been as a Doobie. Ironically, bringing in new producer keyboard wiz Michael Omartian only brought Johnston back to square one. This album (as the last one), has a great host of guest artists including fellow Doobie Pat Simmons and Red Rhodes on pedal steel guitar. Johnston shines brightest on the ballad Excuse Me Ma'am, rocks out on Baby, Take Me In. But overall it just doesn't come close to any of the Doobie's albums (including their underappreciated first album). For Doobie completists only.

3 out of 5 stars Better than the first album.......2004-11-03

I personally prefer this album compared to his first solo-release. It's sounds more like a band performance. It has one lost Doobies classic om it "Baby take me in". Recommended for Doobies-fans only, though.
Why did Wounded Bird Records not release this album (33 minutes only) with "Everything You've Heard Is True" (29 minutes !) on 1 CD ?
