By far the Best State Property Album. This album came out during the Roc's period of dominance and shows off the talents of some of the most talented and under rated rap artists' in the game at the time. It's Da Roc!

Beanie and Freeway stands out.......2006-04-15

State Property ain't just the name on a movie but also the name for Beanie Sigel's group, including Freeway, Oschino, Sparks, Young Chris, Neef and Beanie himself. This soundtrack are a collection of songs with Beanie and his fellas. The only guest here, is Roca-A-Fellas own singer, Rell.

This soundtrack was kind of special. It appears first and foremost as an group-album, even though some of the songs are based on the movie. Besides Beanie and the rest of the gang have the lead roles in the movie, and since it's a gangsta-movie, then of course it's gangsta music for all the money. Some of the songs remind me of some good, old Geto Boys or N.W.A. Beanie even did a cover-version of Geto Boys' "No Guts, No Glory". For the occasion, N.O. Joe was picked up, and he used the exact same beat as the original. Otherwise people like Kanye West and Just Blaze have contributed with beats, as usual, and the soundpicture goes in the same direction as The Blueprint, with nice soulsamples a little here and there. We are also served some bouncy beats, for example "Why Must I", produced by Qu'ran (Da Youngstas) and Black Key.

The standout of course are the single, "Rock The Mic", with Beanie and Freeway. They flow like two maniacs on a beat who reminisces quite a lot like "Beanie (Mack B****), and it's Just Blaze who stands behind the masterpiece. Another favorite are "Sun Don't Shine", produced by RuggedNess, the beats sounds like it was did by Rick Rock, but Mr. Rock are totally different on this on. His contribution, "Do You Want Me", sounds more like RZA. "Hood I Know" includes a cool 80's feelin' to it and "Don't Realize", with Beanie and Rell are also one of the albums highlights. Rell are actually quite good, and it doesn't hurt with a little singing. It's enough of hardcore material for the purist ones.

State Property are an uncompromising record. As I stated earlier it's gangsta rap for all the money, and none of the songs are made for selling. It's supposed to appeal for the gangstas, and of course to others who has sense for quality rap. If you don't like Beanie and Freeway's style you might wanna avoid it. `Cause when it comes to the other four rappers, they tend to get anonymous. Sparks stands out `cause of his special voice and flow, but Oschino and Chris get a little boring in the length (Neef are only on one song). They didn't brought anything new to the table, unlike Beanie and Free, and I would rather prefer some guestverses from Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek, that would have increased the quality.

Very solid album introducing the State Prop Boyz.......2005-10-27

After Sigel bought us 2 bangers in 2 years he gets his boyz from Philly together to shine on this great album, just one year later. Slightly better then the "State Property 2 - Chain Gang" album, which I'd give 4.5 stars. Packed with just 13 songs, no skits, it has 2 classics, 2 almost classics, 1 ok song, and the others are good or great songs. All the members get a nice chance to shine (other then Neef of the Young Gunz who only has 1 verse). No one other then State Prop gang is on here other then doing hooks so they get a nice introduction. Production is great as well. Just Blaze does 4 songs, Kanye West, Mo Betta, Ruggedness, Rick Rock, Zukhan, N.O. Joe, Black Key, DR Period and Big Demi all do 1 song. You get some hardcore lyrics and a lot of street bangers about gangstas, hustlin, and death. A must have album for rap fans.

State P Roc's The Mic (3 stars).......2005-07-12

This album is pretty much a decent collaboration, and nothin' else. The best songs on here involve either Beanie Sigal, Freeway, or both, because you really don't get a chance to no much of the other SP guys even if they are all over the album. Everybody knows the single "Roc The Mic" w/ Freeway and Sigel, which leads into an okay "Sun Don't Shine" w/ Freeway, Young Chris, Oschino, and Neef-of which is Neef's ONLY appearance on the whole album. Honestly, the beats really detract from the album's overall quality, because if the production was better, a lot of the songs would actually be pretty good. One of the three standout tracks, "No Glory" shows Beanie Sigel at his hungriest on the whole album, with a nice beat to back him up. "International Hustler" gives Freeway his own solo time on a nice live beat. The best track on the album though is "Got Nowhere..." w/ Beanie and Freeway, who both rip the track up. Out of 13 tracks, there's basically three great songs, two decent ones, and the rest filler, so you should go right ahead and pick up the MUCH improved State Property II album, where all six members of SP plus Peedi Crakk's individual performances are better showcased behind better beats.

After Beanie Sigel dropped his first two albums, he started to act in movies. This album is the soundtrack to one of his best movies, "State Property." It can also be considered an album by him and his boys since that is the name of their group as well.

This album really surprised me. Beanie's group all have pretty good rhymes and all shine at various moments throughout the album. There isn't one wack rapper out of the whole clique. The beats are all pretty good minus maybe one or two of the tracks and the major flaw about the album is the hooks, but it's a good group album nonetheless.

Better than the first.......2006-04-29

Since the last State Property record, a new member is to be found, Peedi Crakk, and each and all of the other seven rappers have upgraded their dexterities. They all sound so self-assured and technically good on this album. It's better than the first joint.

This is another Roc-A-Fella release without production by Just Blaze or Kanye West, but that doesn't really matter. The point isn't to make hits, but good hip-hop. The rappers intensity makes you forget the production at times, but every beat are special adjusted to this gang. Behind the boards we find Bink, Alchemist, D. Sot and Black Key. Everything is tight from the beginning to the end. "It's On" with Beanie Sigel and Jay-Z are a pleasure for your ears. "Blow" with Oschino, Sparks, Young Chris and Twista is a roller coaster of flows, even though none of them could compete with Twista. Oschino even has a solo joint, "Been Down Too Long", which is surprisingly good. Young Chris' partner Neef also get to show his talent on songs like "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" and "State Prop (You Know Us)".

The Chain Gang Vol. 2 should be enjoyed in it's completeness. Everything hits like a bullet, with the exception of the unnecessary remake of BDP's "Criminal Minded" ("Criminal Background"). Be prepared for gangsta lyrics. On this they take even further than on the first State Property record. They just keep it real, and it sounds refreshing without gimmicks. 73 minutes might just be too much, but when the rappers are as dedicated as this, it's well worth it.

4.5 star 2nd album from State Property.......2005-10-30

18 months after their debut group album, The State Prop boyz are back with another 4.5 star solid album, I like this one slightly less but it's still a very good album. This time the whole group is more represented, Neef is on more then 1 song, Peedi Crakk is introduced, and a few people who aren't in State Prop drop some verses as well. More songs then the 1st album with 17 on here, 1 I skip (which is the single from the album, much like the debut SP album single, it's my least favorite on here), 1 classic, 2 almost classic songs, 3 ok ones, and the rest are good or great songs. Production is good once again. Chad Hamilton does 5 songs, Boola and Black Key each do 2, and Darrell Branch, D-Dot, Bink One, Alchemist, Sean Francis, Henny Loc, Ruggedness, and Warren Campbell all so 1 song. A must have rap album for fans of hardcore hip-hop.

This album was pretty good. I really wasn't expecting much when I initially purchased the album about a year ago, but I was VERY impressed. The production was there, and the lyrics were worthy of some of the very ill beats. Young Hov blessed the track " It's on " where him and Beanie just rip it up back and forth. Other stand out tracks are : Want me back, B.L.O.W, and Rollin down the freeway. This album is definitely worth the purchase.

State Property - Out On Bail .......2007-04-25

Philadelphia Rap crew State Property (Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Peedi Crakk, Young Chris, Oskino, Sparks) latest release is "Out On Bail" a fifteen track release which features guest appearances from Memphis Bleek, M.O.P., Twista, Noreaga, Rell, Juvenile, Dame Dash, Green Lantern, Mike Knox, Nature Denim & Nicole Wray. Freeway, Peedi Crakk, Memphis Bleek & M.O.P. start this release off with the fast paced "Same Ol' G". Beanie Sigel, Peedi Crakk, Young Chris and Juvenile all drop verses on "Killin That" a cut which lacks production. "Abused" is a Sparks/Twista collaboration, after Twista's verse, Sparks provides his own high speed verse. Beanie Sigel provides the first standout, delivering some grimy verses for "Why Wouldn't I". Sparks & Freeway collaborate on "Late At Night" a less then memorable track. "Back From Hiatus" has Rell singing over Green Lantern production, another sub par inclusion. "Shootouts" is a decent track, which samples the late great Notorious B.I.G. and has Freeway delivering some raw rhymes. Never been a big fan of Peedi Crakk flow, so "Warning" feat. Mike Knox falls under skip material. Oskino & Sparks team up for the half-hearted "Rider In Me", while female singer Denim looks for better days on "Keep It Moving", Sparks and Denim deliver another short cut with "Time to Shine". Noreaga, Oskino and the rarely seen slept on Nature deliver a solid collaboration one of the album's better track's "I Ain't Playing With Ya". Never been a fan of Young Chris, sounds like a watered down Hov to me on "Cuff Your Hoes". Female singer Nicole Wray leads the way on "Can't Get Out Of The Game" singing with some passion, Beanie Sigel makes an appearance providing some on point rhymes. Freeway & Oskino close this release off on "We Gonna Ride". I am generally not impressed by "Out On Bail" - which lacks production, and unity. Maybe members are saving their best work for solo projects. I am a fan of Beanie Sigel & Freeway, and will be looking out for their solo albums. 2.5.

Can't stop State Prop.......2005-10-26

Ok this is really just the State Property 2 soundtract mixtape but I guess selling the album on mixtapekings.com wasn't making enough money. So they slap a hot picture on and a new name and in comes some loot. It's like Nas the lost tapes meaning you probably already have some of these tracks. Anyway this is one of the best mixtapes S.P put out this year I was impressed on how they bought the A game on their lyiricism so you wont be buying this for the beats because there just other peoples hit beats and old beats from wu-tang to slick rick. Now what I love the most is that most of the beats used are regular basic music so they can show off their lyrical skills and it shows. The artist's that caught the most of my attention was Oschino and Peedi Crakk these two were just sick and I don't know why the Roc hasn't put either one of them out yet. The album also has features appearances from Joe Budden, Raekwon, Pooda Brown, and not too many more. So enjoy the state prop files because from whats been going around this philly squad may not be around too much longer.

God i waited it felt like years for this album, State Property The Lost Files, "chain gang, gang bang" 3rd album Rawer than the first two put together, my god, 25 hits from Free to Peedi Peedi, always gonna be bumping this for at least another 5 years

B Seeg brings the State Prop together for the 4th group "album", a pretty good effort (the more I slisten to it I think I really should have gave it 4 stars (a low 4 star rating). I dont' have the "Lost Files" album but this is far behind their first 2 (both I'd give 4.5 stars). It has 20 songs (a few are short freestyles) 2 are almost classic material, 10 are good, and of the remaining 8, 1-3 are skippable and the rest are ok. Production is defnitely not up to what they usually have, average on most songs (with a similar sound) with a few good ones. The breakdown by the group members is from on 1 song (Sparks) to 10 (Young Chris). Peedi Crakk & Freeway are each on 7, Neef is on 4, Oschino is on 3, Beanie Sigel is only on 2. Peedi's man Indy 500 is on 3 and Neef's brother Pooda Brown is on 2. Not their ebst work and I'd probably skip it over, only half the songs are really worth it.

yo this album is the stuff! Roc the Mic is of course bangin til no end. Then after that bein the first track and all that, everything else is just bumpin. It's definatly one of the hottest soundtracks out there, so go cop it!
