Leave it to Ruske to select works utterly unassociated with his instrument and then perform them in such a way that they seem practically idiomatic for the horn. I've been performing and teaching Schuman's Phantasiestücke for decades, and Ruske's version even opened my eyes and ears to some fresh moments in these stalwarts of the clarinet repertoire. Naturally he and Muzijevic perform with all the "sympatico" one comes to expect from two long-time collaborators.

Eric Ruske's interpretations of this music is exquisite. He brings a new world of repertoire to the horn world and expands the possibilities of horn playing. A must-have for anyone pursuing a career in horn.
