Yup, it's just alright to me. I know that many rate this album as one of the greatest, but I didn't hear that when I listened to it. When I heard this album back in the say when it first came out, I didn't like it at all. I figured that since my tastes have changed since then, I'd give it another shot. So, I got it from the local library and while I like it better now then I did then, I still can't really feel this album too much. My first Common album (the first one that I bought) was "One Day..." Now, that was a very good album, one of the best to date IMO. Since then, I've purchased every album that Common has come out with and have not been disappointed. It appears to me that he went through a serious change between "Resurrection" and One Day..." I guess that he went through a process of maturing and began writing better lyrics, which is why I like "One Day..." a whole lot better than "Resurrection" His style of rhyming and the lyrics here I just did not like. I loved the jazz infused beats and his pop's rap at the end, but I just didn't really care too much for the songs. I still like the album some, but not as much as his other albums.

In the vein of the great MCs of this thing we call Hip-Hop, Common arises from the fray with his sophmore opus, which, is a masterpiece. Period. This album truly showed the dexterity he shares with the greats of the game all while sprinkling consciousness on our heads and in our ears. Kudos to the chef!

GB Ruled 1996.......2007-07-21

Willie D rejoins the group after a few years hiatus, and is back with fervor! Willie D, Face, and Bushwick Bill once again have that passionate chemistry and deliver a hard faced album with stone cold rhymes and great beats. As for the production, you get Mike Dean (who does the majority), N.O. Joe, Scarface, Derek Edwards, all great beatsmiths. Stylistically, the album is Southern style G-Funk, like many Houston albums are, but the beats range from a few laidback cuts to some blood curdling horror beats that stomp and shake the ground. The horror joints are the awesome "Still" and "Open Minded" (f/ DMG). The beats are really hard and loud, and the rhymes are lyrical terrorism. "Geto Fantasy" is gumbo style with lyrics about dreams about making it out the hood. "Time Taker" is real chill. The beats is laidback and phat, and the trio deliver some deep knowledge about the meaning of life, how time can just flow away, and judgment day, and making the most of time on earth. Bushwick Bill gets really personal and heart drenching on his solo "I Just Wanna Die." The beat is crazy, gothic, and stomach churning as are Bill's suicidal lyrics. I love the beat on "N---as And Flies" with Derek Edwards delivering the funk. I love the whiny synth in the hook and Willie drops some street and social knowledge. Facemob drops in with GB in "Hold It Down" for a nice mobb joint with an airy but simple beat. All in all, this album is a great reunion of the Houston legends, and the nice beats and crazy spits make this an easy mid 90's classic.

The Geto Boys have succeeded in cornering the 14 year-old "Icy Hot Stunta" segment, as evidenced by the tone and tenor of the other reviews.

This album merits five stars because of its success in liberating dollars from suburban adolescents everywhere.

Its the reunion of Scarface, Big Mike, Willie D, Ganxsta Nip, DJ Ready Red & Bushwick Bill back in 199Six,i don't know that much about the geto boys but i do know they have some hard ass beats. my 2 fav. songs are still, and niggas and flys those songs have really hard beats like g-funk/horror core.

A tight Horrorcore song on this track is I Just Wanna Die by that psycho Bushwick Bill, and the Hard-Thuggish Ruggish hit Niggas And Flies done by Willie D & Scarface! This GB Album is waaay better than any N.W.A. or post-Geto Boy Tracks. Best songs are 2,3,6,7,8,9,10,11,*12,*13 & 15.

Pretty solid album.......2006-04-10

I was surprised by the reviews. This CD is pretty enjoyable. Track 2 is a decent dj quik cover. Track 7 is probably the best lyrically. Track twelve is a standout too. Every song is listenable. I wouldn't say there's any classics on this, but there's a lot of good tracks. Worth checkin out.

The Game ----- West Coast Resurrection.......2006-01-09

JT The Bigga Figga has been making albums for over ten years and is one of the Bay Area's biggest and most accessible stars. But somehow, he made his biggest dent recently releasing Untold Story, an album of pre-Aftermath material from The Game. The album spent considerable time on the charts. "Compton Compton" became an unofficial single for Game in his road to success. Just when you thought there was enough capitalism in Hip-Hop, JT The Bigga Figga dropped another installment of holdover Game material with West Coast Resurrection (Get Low)

. Only two songs, "Promised Land" and "Troublesome," are solo efforts. JT, AllHipHop Breeding Ground Alum - Blu Chip, and Get Low fill up the other spaces. This trait makes one wonder the integrity of these songs. Not to say that some of the posse cuts don't work. "Gutta Boyz" with Sean T has great chemistry that not only feels authentic, but shines Sean's lyrical merits. "Work Hard" reveals that Game's name-dropping similes are nothing new since the song is chock full of them. Game keeps it moving, but like Mos Def in the UTD album, Game only occupies about a third of the actual time on the mic. One must be a hungry fan to justify this flaw.

Although the lyrical side dwindled, this effort buries Untold Story for its production. Rather than thumped out slow beats or cheap Dre mimicry, JT enlisted some cutting edge production. G Man Stan plays guitar right through "The Streetz of Compton," giving Game a sound comparable to M.O.P.'s recent stuff. For the many who were impressed with "Dreams," "Promised Land" not only puts Game alongside smooth soul sampling, but it gives him one of his lone chances to drop some content on the album. JT definitely saw the response to The Documentary's sound, and tried his best to match it.

West Coast Resurrection sounds new but it's unavoidable flaw is the lack of Game actually on the album. However, this is an artistic improvement on the last unofficial album. But as Game grows, this album still is an item strictly for fanatics and DJ's in search of mock-exclusives.

THE WILD WEST IS BACK!! WESTCOAST RESURRECTION!! NEW YORK GOT NO ONE LEFT. JAY IS GONE, NAS HAS FADED, JADA IS WEAK, JA RULE & FAT JOE....HAHAHA...THERE A JOKE...MY SISTER IS HARDER THAN THEM. 50CENT THE LAST ONE LEFT STANDING IN NY. THE SOUTH HAS TAKEN OVER BUT THE WEST IS BEING RESURRECTED!!!!

West Coast Resurrection contains some real gangsta rappin' that anyone who likes hip hop should respect. The Streetz of Compton (Ft. JT), Rookie Card (Ft. JT) and Krush Groove (Ft. JT & Get Low) are definitely the top 3 tracks of this album if u ask me.

No matter when are these recorded, The Game still got some real talents. Fifty's just a stupid steroid up clown (like this Joe Crack could call him), whit no skills of lyricist at all, if we have to compare him with The Game. I'm sure that The Game will do better on his own now, without that ridiculous G-G-G... and so on... -Unit. Okay, The Documentary was masterpiece, there's no arguing with that...

Avoid this "Resurrection" at any cost!.......2005-04-17

JT's second effort to make a little dough off his unreleased Game vocals is even more shameless. While some might argue that JT tried to pass off his last Game album as being the official debut that Aftermath was releasing, I have to give him a pass on that one. He never claimed the album was anything it wasn't. However with his second offering of Game material, he is stretching his limited collection of old recordings as far as he can. "Untold Story" may not have measured up to the expectations of a Dre-produced Game LP but at least it had enough quality material to be worth a listen. "West Coast Resurrection" is a straight-up hustle by JT The Bigga Figga. Disguised as a "new album", it's actually just an attempt for JT to get rid of his left-over tracks. Of the fourteen tracks, two of them are JT talking for a couple minutes, one is an interlude, and two of them are remixes of songs from "Untold Story". Of the remaining songs, the only track that really seems worth the listen is "Promised Land" where Game really showcases some depth and speaks on his father. The rest of the album is mediocre at best with the possible exception being "The Streetz Of Compton", an entertaining cover of DJ Quik's "Born And Raised In Compton". On the outro, JT lets us know that he is planning yet another Game album in a couple of months. If this one is any indication of what he has left in the vault, I'd strongly suggest avoiding it.

(3+half) The RESURRECTION of the funky child!!.......2007-02-06

After getting the 1st 2 albums by LOTUG when they came out i was dying to get this a.s.a.p. To be honest i wasnt sure how they would come back (a point that Mr.Funkee talks about in the intro) and was actually surprised, but pleased for the most part. 2 things made this album different from the jump, (1)theres alot of interludes which they never really did before and i think they just waste time and (2)Lord Jazz handles the production instead of Marley Marl, with K-Def only doing the one track, Govna-matic doing one and A kid called Roots doing 2. Other than that its the same recipe as before, funky beats and party rhymes galore. Both Doitall and Mr.Funkee sound sharp as nails like the time away only wetted their appetites for more while Jazz' production is excellent and diverse throughout. Although in my humble opinion there were afew weak tracks such as "Earth, Wind & Fire", "One Day" and possibly "Hennessey-pt.1" (compared to pt.2 its inferior) overall it doesnt take too much away from the album's quality. The remaining joints are brilliant with such standouts as "Retaliate" (brilliant comeback), "If you..." (classic Lords), "Take dat" (2nd best track here), "Blow your mind" (best track, simply outstanding), "Excuse me" (like pt.2 of "lord jazz hit me one time" from their debut album) and "Exodus" (a perfect ending to the album). We wait with bated breath for the 4th installment. God knows hiphop needs it at the moment.

Well since I brought the album it's ok. The lords need to put out some good videos, like hanassy 1 and 2. The song with the brat and something with a phat ass beat that is a remix. they have to sell first and as a # 1 fan they can do it.

Be careful ordering this; it is the "screwed and chopped" version. This means remixed and slowed down. I guess the idea is to make you feel like you're on codeine.

One of the best albums ever to be . I dont recommend this album for those who listen to new and mainstream hiphop , cuz REAL is all what this album is about .

Thiz gotz to be one of the best cds ive eva picked up...Thiz cd iz very sinista >:-)....Al Kapone goez extremely hardcore wit thiz album....and look....another album that iz rare and expensive so people can listen to new pop rap junk n stupid club muzik....thiz iz seriously pissin me off wit good albumz dat are out of print n expensive....if you ever see thiz album...pick it up cuz thiz iz one of tha best cds ive heard....I like all tha songz on thiz cd but top favorite song.: no remorse (cuz a gang of rapperz get hardcore az hell on thiz song) and premeditated (very dark n sinista)

P.S. If you got the album "sinista funk" then you will expect 4 new songs
