What's the Fubu record label's inaugural release about? Says FB Entertainment artist Amazin': "Money. Cool. Girls. Cool. Diamonds. Cool. Cars. Cool." Demonstrating the album's superficiality, track one consists of celebrities such as Michael Jordan and Ice-T leaving messages on the "Good Life Party" RSVP line; the album henceforth maintains its mercilessly ghetto-fabulous pace. The title song displays Nas and Nate Dogg's remarkable ability to rhyme about nothing, R&B journeyman Joe croons about his love for the "Ghetto Girl," and "50 N****s Deep" showcases Detroit newcomer Drunken Master. Songs by Beenie Man and Supercat mix in a bit of dancehall flavor, while Dawn Robinson's contribution, "Set It Off," adds some needed style and finesse. The Good Life is a millennium thug party for those who live to floss. --Rebecca Levine

2 out of 5 stars Never listen to an old chinese guy with yellow glasses about hiphop.......2005-07-24

Now I know this, I was just minding myself in the recordstore looking for a RAPPIN 4-TAY-album when this old chinese guy wearing a blue suit and yellow glasses came up to me and asked me if I liked hiphopmusic.
I told him yes , and then he litterary threw this cd in my face.
He said: "This is the bombdiggity... Yes?" I said I don't know haven't heard it...
Anyways he somehow convinced me to buy the cd for 7 dollars, I went home put the stereo on and felt robbed.
Although there are a few cool cuts on it most is so so stuff.

After this expeience I will never take any advice from an old chinese guy with yellow glasses about what albums to buy.

3 out of 5 stars Could Be Better.......2002-07-16

The FB Entertainment Goodlife Album is an OK blend of rap and r&b, but, there's something missing in the album that makes it good enough to be the next Funkmaster Flex Mix Tape. There's no doubt it features high performance appearrences by rap allstars like Nas and Nate Dogg on the title track "Good Life". R.O.C takes a cut on "The End" and Ludacris, LL Cool J (who has been Fubu's posterboy for the past few years), and Kieth Murray on the upbeat hit single "Fatty Girl".

A very interesting appearence happens from hip hop newcomer Mr. Cheeks on his own hit single "Lights, Camera, Action" and other hip hop superweights like Erick Sermon, India_Arie, and Joe show up later in the album.

I would highly recommend "The Goodlife" to someone who loves cash, bling, and booty. If your someone, however, who enjoys more commercial rap like Jay-Z and Nelly, you'll probably wanna buy one of their albums instead.

So, in all, the FB Entertainment "Good Life" Album is an OK blend of rap, soul, and hip hop that deserves a listen, but, here's a little note to FUBU: Stick To Making Great Clothes Instead Of Great Music.

3 out of 5 stars ¿Good Life?.......2001-11-11

This cd is supposed to the good life of FUBU but yet the rhymes are not all that tight or good. Their rhymes arent really about money or representing. Even though the cd is mediocre at best, the song Fatty Girl is tight as hell. I wouldnt recommend buying this cd, but everybody should check out Fatty Girl.
