Album Description

Ringmaster, an original female fronted theatrical rock band, plays both blistering anthems and sublime ballads at major NYC, LA and New England clubs. In NYC, Ringmaster has rocked Mercury Lounge, Arlene Grocery, Elbow Room, Don Hill's, CBGB, ACME Underground and Meow Mix. Some top LA club conquests include: Troubadour, Coconut Teaszer, The Gig (Hollywood) and the Dragonfly. In Washington DC, May 2001, Ringmaster performed at the Capital Building for 5,000 protesters (back in the days when protest was not anti-American). In Philadelphia, at Unity 2000, Ringmaster played original anthems to 25,000 Republican National Convention protesters. Rage Against the Machine played at the Democratic National Convention protest on the west coast.

Awesome album. Probably my least favourite out of all the jokers cards, but i still love it. This album is really old skool, so if you like old skool rap, then youll love this. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to all juggalos.

Surprised.......2005-09-18

I'm surprised, because this is not only one of ICP's BEST reviewed albums, but also one of it's LEAST reviewed albums.

Sure...this was before ICP made it big. But I'm still amazed how few Juggalos (it appears) have made their way back to this much less overblown masterpiece.

The other reviews say it all. Get this one. It's a production by Mike E. Clark that has a smaller production feel. That is, it leads you to the water, but unlike the newer stuff, doesn't make you drink. This CD has a lot more to do with YOU, and what you bring to it, rather than hitting you over the head. Let your imagination run wild.

I do have one thing to add...kind of a big deal to me. There is a track called "The Dead One." On it are samples from Famous Monsters Speak, an incredible, radio drama style horror album from back in '63. This album had a major influence on me as a child, and later as a horror writer.

Famous Monsters Speak was marketed for kids, but it's no kids album...nothing like this would get past the censors of today. Though schlocky in some places, it's also extremely disturbing. If you want an insight into the minds of ICP and Mike E. Clark, I recommend The Ringmaster, but equally Famous Monsters Speak.

I.C.P. is the coolest band that ever walked the face of the earth (even if Violent J hung out with the origional Billy the Kid), but this is back when they were a garage freak show!!!!!!!

I think alot of songs on this cd makes ALOT of sence. "Mr Johnsons head" displays what a shut-in life could forse a nobody to do. "Southwest song" shows how life in the gutter gets so tireing and hard. "The Maggots" tell about the regular things that go on in a regular day where Shaggy and Violent J grew up. And "House of Mirrors"talks about how bigots and richies could help make places better to live but choose not to. So anyone who is hesitating to buy this cd let me remind you it is one of the very best and you will get alot out of it... it is so worth the money.

True Powerful Riff-Doom Metal.......2004-01-21

Dense. Thick. Crushing! All words that describe, yet fall short of the weight of Las Cruces' sophomore release Ringmaster. Doom has become a genre watered down by "stoner" references and made tepid by derivative death-metal leanings. This is where Ringmaster is such a revelation ! Soulful vocals provided by an actual singer (Mark Zammaron) and classic riffs abound, building tension and allowing temperance where many of their peers only know slow and fast. Las Cruces has heart and exhibits an above all natural feeling cohesiveness. They live and breathe doom metal expression. Check out "Cascades of Phantoms" and album opener "Behemoth" if you want to hear how it should be done !

With the almighty Kyuss no longer amongst the realms of the living, other sources need to be sought. With Fu Manchu taking the surfer/stoner side, we also need someone to take the dark/doomy side. That someone is Las Cruces. Sabbath/Candlemass-type riffs, (almost) early-Soundgarden-type vocals with an overall production and feel of the aforementioned Kyuss. Lots of fun. Recommended tracks: Behemoth, Doomed, Ringmaster, Human Form...
