I owned this on cassete as a kid and I am so sad to have lost it. I fell asleep to this tape as a kid, and now Beethoven has an almost nostalgic feel about him. WONDERFUL album!! :D

This is a wonderful CD. It's narrative is quite pleasing and of course the music is fantastic. We listen to this in the car and my 7 yr old daughter just loves it. It has sparked some interesting conversations. I am very pleased with it and will most definitely purchase others in the series.

I bought this CD and the others in the series - Mr. Bach Comes to Call and Mozart's Magical Adventure and my oldest son, who is 4, will put this CD in first thing in the morning and listen to it and all the others 2-3 times a day. They all are charming and intelligent enough that I don't mind listening to it over and over again with him. All of the CDs in the series have well told stories that integrate the music beautifully and give you a brief but complete history of these musicians and what life was like for them. Enjoy!

Can't go wrong with LPD, 9 Lives To Wonder" was created with The Silver Man on keyboards and exotic divices, Ryan Moore on bass and drums, Martijn de Kleer handling guitar and tympani, Niels van Hoornblower lives up to his surname and of course The Prophet Qa'Spel delivering the lyrics and playing keyboards and destroyed lyre. On this very special occasion Cevin Key of Skinny Puppy is the Pink Dots special guest.

AVAILABLE AT SOLEILMOON records website and Strange Fortune's website for $12.00, don't pay more than this from someone who doesn't know or care about the music. $20.00 used? what a rip off!

Classic LPD space-rock........1998-11-17

This album is a particularily good "summary work" of the legendary pink dots' style before they moved onto their present style. Soft, melodic, and very spacy, this would be a great disc to get introduced the dots, especially if you're into the earlier works of pink floyd. If you're familiar with the Dots' other stuff, this is along similar lines as The Maria Dimension and The Shadow Weaver part one.

AZ delivers another very solid effort. His lyrics and flow is still sick as ever. Production was handled great for the most part but did lack on some tracks. Another definite banger for New York Hip Hop.

The first time I heard the song "problems" I was hooked. I remember watchin this video on Rap City and thinkin it was cool and stuff. Anyway, honestly I can say this is his weakest effort even though he is one of my favorite artists. I don't want to take anything away from this record because it is very good. Az 3rd album I believe was this one in June of 2001 I will give some more on each individual song."Whatcha day about" he comes hard and good on this one."I dont give a F***" hits you hard also and then comes "At Night" wich has an up beat tempo to it."AZ is back" however is terrible but lucky "Problems" tuns the tides around and is a banger."Everythings Everything" features Joe and is not to bad."Thats the Real"is a harder song that is pretty good."What ya'll N*S Want" aint bad neither."Lets Toat" has dope lyrics by AZ as he displays his dope rhymes."How manny wanna" is another good song with nice lyrics."Love me" is note worthy."Quiet Money TBS" is a street track and is not bad.This album is not terrible but it sounds like he wants a little attention from the mainstream.

AZ's back after 3+ years.......2004-11-09

AZ's back after taking just over 3 years off since his last major label release. About 5 songs on here are off his underground EP "S.O.S.A. (Save Our Soul's AZ)" that he released in early 2000. It has 4 classics and 1 near classic, but 3 songs I skip and 2 that are ok, the others are good. Production is good & bad, Chop Diesel does 5 songs, Ty Fyfee, DR Period and 6 other people I never heard of all do 1 song. He still has that tight flow and one of the best deliveries in the rap game and remains one of the most, if not the most underrated mc but the production is a little different than his last 2 albums and much weaker on some of the tracks. A good album nevertheless but not his best work but still a good CD to have in your collection. Features his Black Soprano group and a few others but no Nas, but still has a few big names on it.

i can't believe I haven't reviewed this album yet, being a proud owner of every AZ album... i quite like this album, albeit it showing AZ's most commercial side, which i do not requite in the cordial of terms...
for a commercial cd, there's plenty on here to like, including some mad lyrics and well produced beats (as to be expected), AZ will never hit the bigtime (unfortunately), but that means he will go on producing the realest stuff like AWOL and the format (fortunately)... get this if your an AZ enthusiast, or you like commercial rap with a street edge... otherwise, you won't find anything to like here...

Another feast for Handelians.......2003-12-25

Here's another astonishing piece for all Handelians. Many of Handel's great pieces have sadly been neglected - just like many of Richard Strauss' operas which have only recently received attention from people like Botstein, Korsten and Sinopoli (deceased). Thankfully, Gardiner and his team took the trouble to record this astonishing masterpiece. I simply love this piece - Saul!! The Monteverdi choir is the best in the world - listen to their stunning virtuosity here. Thank you, Gardiner!!

Excellent music.......2003-09-14

Saul is one of those lesser known works by Handel. I certainly prefer Solomon, the Messiah or Israel in Egypt. Nevertheless, there is plenty of glorious music in Saul. The Monteverdi sings with their customary virtuosity. Casting of solo parts is superb. A bit on the pricey side but this is an investment that will yield rich dividends over a long period of time. Instead of listening to the Messiah all the time, or Solomon or Jephtha, why not be more daring and explore this lesser known work by Handel?
