Great album, ranks up there with "Be".......2007-07-31

With all the 20 plus track rap albums we see coming out these days, full of filler and the same "catchy" type songs, Common's new album is a breath of fresh air. It's got a 13 track playlist and I was feelin all but maybe 1 track. Overall, the album hits hard, makes you think and examine yourself. More music needs to do that. The final track, if you give it a serious listen will make you question alot about life and legacy. Pick this one up if you're a Common fan, or a rap fan in general, because it doesn't disappoint.

I've seen people say this album is better than "Be". In terms of that comparison, I still give "Be" a slight edge, but this album is nearly as good.

His best work in the 15 years I've been listening to Com'. The way he's progressed in this thing of our's we call HIP HOP is amazing.

Anyone who purchases this album will not be dissapointed. The ryhmes, the beats, the message(s). Simply, the hottest album of the year.

Just bought this album not too long ago and the CD ROCKS SOMETHING SERIOUS OF HIP HOP. It's like one of those albums where you put your headphones on, close your eyes and just let your head nod as you are mentally taken into some Mythical journey. With this "Snap and Pop" generation, I almost had to shed a tear when I was listening to this Common album. My respects!!

Once again Common comes with a ridiculously consistent and solid album. just like BE, there arent any holes in the tracklisting. My Favorite songs are "The People", "Drivin Me Wild" (LILY), "Misunderstood" and "Forever Begins". Great production from Kanye, Dilla "So Far To Go" (which is featured on The Shining) and Devo Springsteen "Misunderstood".

I would rank this tied for third in Common's catalogue (which is very impressive) with Be and behind Resurrection and Like Water For Chocolate.

By far my favorite Wu-Tang Clan CD. A fan since the 90's, this was a great compilation of hits and all the songs flowed together. Great CD for any Wu fan.

My Intro to Hip Hop.......2006-07-05

I was 16 years old when this cd dropped, and I didn't listen to hip hop at all at the time. I was a skateboarder, and all I listened to was punk rock back then. I didn't really get the slang, styles, or concepts of hip hop; and I never really gave hip hop a chance before this cd came out. However, I do remember a lot of my friends telling me how nice The Wu were, and how excited they were when this cd was released.

After seeing the video for "Triumph" a few times, I knew that The Wu were dope. I didn't realize it at the time, but "Triumph" actually changed my whole perspective of hip hop. To this day, I believe that this song is the best posse cut ever. Inspectah Dek and Method Man jump start this song with incredible back to back verses, and the beat is epic. I've heard this song hundreds of times, but I still get amped whenever it's playing. Everyone spits a good verse on this song, and the energy of the track is incredible.

"It's Yourz" is another classic. This is a great closing track for disc 1. Similar to "Triumph", this song has a lot of energy. It also has a great hook. This time it's The Rza and Inspectah Dek who lace the track with the most memorable verses.

A lot of people hate on this cd, but I don't understand why. Although "Wu-Tang Forever" is not anywhere near as raw as "36 Chambers", it is definitely more lyrical. I don't agree with all these filler complaints either. I have listened to both of these discs repetitively for nearly a decade, and the only tracks I skip aren't actual songs.

Yo The First Track on the record makes this record a dub piece then all the rest of the songs is bonus songs yo the Gods some of the only brothers bringing the Science of Islam at least attempting rather to open up the black minds in our people but yo they did they Job straight up my niggs The Black Man is God!

Best Group Album Ever, Best Wu Album Ever.......2006-01-23

Only track I skip is Black Shampoo, other than that this album is dazzling and there is no filler. They took their time and came up with a classic, what all artists should do.

First let me start off by saying this is an outstanding album and even though its not a perfect 5/5 for me like the original 36 Chambers(if you havent copped that already WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU)that doesnt mean its still not an amazing album because let me tell you...if you thought RZA braught you some amazing beats in the 36 chambers(and gzas amazing Liquid Swords and other Wu members solos)then you're in for a treat, cause Forever is chuck full of amazing tracks and lets start it off with my short lil review that i call The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

The Good
-Some of the tracks on this album are just amazing and can almost be put it up with the 36 chambers. RZA really put on alot of effort into making Wu Tang Forever a Classic and he did exactly that.

-Not only are the tracks amazing but RZAs beats are just ON POINT and perfect(especially "As High as Wu Tang Gets"). I just cant stop ranting on how well made these beats are. "Reunited" is a perfect example. RZA put together one of the best hip hop beats ever! Ive never ever heard the violen sampled so freaking well in a rap song!!!

-Masta Killa and U-God finally make there pressance felt in FOREVER! Sadly that was really the only flaw in 36 Chambers which was that 2 of the members(Masta Killa and U God)barley had any thing to say in that album, hell Masta Killa only raps in ONE Song(not to mention he has a really short line! Same gos for U God!). But fortunatley this is where FOREVER fixes the mistake that they had in the first album. SO YES you do get hear alot(trust me alot more then the last album)more of these 2 not to mention they drop some really amazing lines. Did I mention Masta Killa is my 2nd fav Wu Member?..

-Triumph....Its simple...amazing beats...every wu tang member leaving a mark to be made...nuff said

Now..

The Bad
-Maria?, Dog%$^ What is this!?! These tracks are just straight up WACK! Yes you heard me! Some of these tracks are just...NOT GOOD. C'mon now you guys no better then that! I really really tried getting into these but as hard as a I try I just cant get into these tracks which is why this album is a step below there first album :/

-RZA! WHAT HAPPEND. Which is what came to me in a few tracks. Some tracks are just really hard to get into and a pretty hard listen. Not just listen wise but beatwise there just not balanced and i really couldnt get into them especially tracks like BLAC SHAMPOO(WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!!) Just like some of the tracks the beats are just straight up wack(like one of the last tracks)

-Sadly RZA didnt produce every song in this album :/

-There is Little to No appearance from my fav wu member of all the Genious GZA! He made such a name for himself in tracks like "Clan in Da Front" and now we barley even hear from him! I think hes only in like what, 3 tracks on disc one and almost none in disc 2! Same gos for O.D.B. Both O.D.B and GZA barley have anything to say in this album(and im not counting the tracks with O.D.B like Maria because those tracks are just plain bad)..seriously this dissapoints me. You guys finally make U-God and Masta Killa make them selves feel welcome in FOREVER but now you guys have to cut short on O.D.B and GZA? Give me a freaking break, though I won't deny it they do have there moments(especially "As High as Wu Tang Gets"..

-Just to put it for the record I hate CappaDonna..

The Ugly

-Why did they make U-Gods solo song so HORRIBLE! Blackshampoo is just...BAD!...totally bad and somewhat cuddley beats mixed with U Gods awesome voice just seems really unbalanced. Its as if youre mixing Method mans voice to...ok ill shut up now

Still an Amazing Album COP IT

What the Blood Clot?.......2005-11-02

I cannot understand why people do not consider this some of the Wu's best work. The beats are brilliant. The rap is intelligent. The mixture is gold. Some of these tracks follow a more traditonal rap format, with choruses, intros, etc. but Forever is as close as you get to guys on the street rappin straight street poetry. These guys flow. The rap beyond b****** and h***. This stuff is Ministry.

its 1997, and the wu-tang clan has had 6 classic albums (36 chambers, tical, liquid swords, return to the 36 chambers, only built 4 cuban linx, ironman), almost all with huge commercial success. how do you turn that into a 7th hit? make a double album backed with a banging #1 single. it obviously worked since the ablum went gold in the first week alone. but that commercial success is when the wu started losing some of their original touch. 36 chambers had 12 perfect tracks and fans only wanted more, but when 26 tracks come out at once there have to be some fillers alongside the classics (...).

all fillers ignored, however, this album is just killer. triumph, the #1 hit single features every member (odb only doing the intro tho). reunited, the street single, is my personal favorite on the album. rza innovates a little with violin loops instead of his usual keys and it turns out to be dope. odb and gza drop some of the best verses on the album on that song. gza and raekwon also kill on severe punishment with some funny kung-fu samples, and rza's production is top notch on songs like heaterz. deadly melody showcases masta killa's haunting rhyming skill over rza's usual eerie piano loops with tight verses from meth and ghostface too. as high as wu-tang gets is another one of the standout tracks, with meth and gza (probably the best wu members to work together as seen on shadowboxin' from liquid swords) rhyming over a funky rza beat with a dope bassline and a fun singing chorus from odb.

overall this album is one of the best from the 90s and an excellent sophomore attempt from the whole clan, not innovating too much but still offering something different from their first album. unfortunately their next 2 albums almost completely ditch the old wu-tang style and now they're just above-average rappers instead of the supergroup they once were.

If i could give this album 10 Stars i would. Aight theres a lot of haters out there givin this album less than 3 stars... If you not a die heart Wu fan you will never like or understand this album. To me this album is perfect, only disapointment is that there is hardly any GZA on it, who is my personal favorite. If you love Raekwon this is going to be an amazing album for you to hear, he is everywhereee on this album. And i aint rating no tracks couse i am a true fan. Wu-tang 4 EVER

man, where do i start on this album? at first, when i bought it about a year ago, i didn't like it much. but after a while it grew on my and then i instantly became a Wu-addict, i went and got all the solo's i could find, bought the DVD when they were in San Bernadino, bought the CD to that and finally Rza's book, which is mighty awesome i might add. if you're a hi-hop fan, you'll buy this...if you claim youre a hip hop fan and buy Nelly, you need to jump off a cliff.

"Whoop De Woo" - a "previously unreleased" track

The other 15 songs are from TLC's four albums, appearing in album edit form - they are the same as the album versions, only shortened and/or censored. It does not include single/radio/video versions of "Baby-Baby-Baby" or "Hat 2 Da Back". The remix to "Kick Your Game" (featuring Craig Mack) is not included either; nor are any collaborations ("What It Ain't (Ghetto Enuff)" with Goodie MOb) or b-sides ("My Secret Enemy"). (And the radio-played "I'm Good at Being Bad", "Dear Lie", and "Miss You" are not included either.)

Rather than "The Hits", this compilation should have been entitled "The Singles & More" - but not ALL the singles, since "Hands Up" is not included. The inclusion of "In Your Arms Tonight" and "Turntable" seem rather random, since there are tronger tracks from 2002's "3D".

The two "new tracks" are nothing special. "Whoop De Woo" is notable only because it include a rap by Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes; "Come Get Some" is a Lil' Jon track with T-Boz singing the verses.

The song "I Bet" from the "reality show" competition "R U the Girl?" appears as a bonus track only on the 2005 re-release of this 2003 compilation release.

Unless explicitly bought for the four non-album tracks, this CD is not recommended to TLC fans who already have the other 15 songs in their superior album versions on the original albums.

A Big taste of Nostalgia.......2006-12-20

Ever had any group just "pop" into your head while you were absolutely doing nothing?! Such was the case for me a couple of days ago while I was (*groan*) going through my CD tower. I came across TLC's "Ooh, On the TLC Tip" CD, and thought surely these gals must have a "best of" collection somewhere. So, it was follow the yellow brick road to Amazon.com...

I don't believe I've enjoyed a CD this much in a long time. Every song was absolutely delightful; however, the cut of "Hat To The Back" is different than the one that's on "Ooh, On the TLC Tip", and I prefer that one more because it's WAY funkier. I also really enjoyed "Get It Up." That is a jam and a half!

It is so sad to think how this great female group (one of the best ever, in my opinion) was torn apart by the unfortunate and untimely death of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez. They were all beautiful in their own way, and each contributed just as much as the other to the music. It is a shame the group's ending came about the way it did. That should prove to everyone not to take ANY day for granted; it may be your last.

I miss TLC, but this CD will help keep them all alive and in my heart for a very long time! This one's a keeper guys!!

tlc greatest hits.......2006-07-01

I agree some of the good songs is missing. these people was in the rush to put this album out but still i will buy it. But TLC will always be crazy sexy and darn cool. R. I. P. Lefteye we will love and miss you forever. Tionne and Chilli we are ready for u to exploded like kriss kross say can they drop dabomb. Let them haters know.

The end.......2006-04-24

Man, it's been almost 4 years since Left Eye passed away, 4 years since the end of TLC... As T-Boz, I wish their end could've been different, but things happen for a reason... Heaven only knows.
This album is amazing, mostly of their hits. Including the must-listening "No Scrubs", "Unpretty", "Creep", "Waterfalls" and others. Destiny's Child and others would not exist if it wasn't for our forever-loved TLC.
There's 2 new tracks and a couple of missing songs such as "Dear lie", "Shock dat monkey", "Hands up" and some others.
This could've been released with a DVD including their videos, but I heard that a DVD was recently released. Another issue came when I found edited/censored songs "Silly h*", and "No scrubs" fades too quickly. Anyway the CD is one of the best Greatest Hits albums of all time.

TLC was the group! This show cases what the music industry is missing. Songs with messages and solid harmony. Songs can be sexy but still tasteful. They can have a message and still sell records. Unpretty, Waterfalls and Red Light Special are all examples of great music! This group will and already is truly missed.

I can not express how great the music is. The compilation of the music is amazing. Along with a great song by Michael Hutchence called The Passenger makes one inclined to want more.

after the popularity drop in folk themed songs that seemed to end in the mid 90's, warner brothers thought that they should turn right around and make a soundtrack more hip hop influenced, there choice led to one of the many reasons batman forever was such a huge success, the best song this soundtrack had to offer was U2's wonderful performance, as well as smash it up which was obviously a take off chris o donnell's reckless nature, many people say seal offers the best performance, however i disagree, still seal's music is still worth checking out, all in all this was an well executed slideshow of assortments.

Flaming Lips.......2005-08-13

The guy who calls The Flaming Lips "soft rock", i say one thing. Listen to Clouds Taste Metallic (the album from where Bad Days is from) and then get back to me, and say it again. Geez, i don't mind people having an opinion, but when it's as obviously wrong as the one in the previous post, it makes me wanna punch babies in the face; and i don't wanna punch anyone, let alone babies. Seriously though, The Lips' contribution to this soundtrack is by far the best song here. It's so life affirming, and unpretentious - unlike the supposed "great songs" from U2 and Seal (a talentless also-ran, in my opinion).

Very Good Compilation.......2005-08-05

I got this disc years ago, and enjoyed it very frequently. Also, it was my introduction to Seal, and Kiss From A Rose is now one of my favorites. The opening track is kick-ass. And there are a few other winners in this compilation that make it deserving of a five star rating. Overall, it's pretty cool. Check it out.

Still a great album, 10 years later..........2005-06-29

the only thing that really thrilled me about the music from the previous Batman films was the fantastic Danny Elfman orchestrations. this time with Batman Forever, the soundtrack is decidedly more rock-influenced. this is a great album, good songs from multiple genres. U2's offering, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" and Seal's "Kiss From A Rose" are by far the strongest tracks on the album, but the other songs are great. Ten years after the film and album were released, i still listen to most of the songs on the album. here's a rundown of the songs:

U2's "Hold Me, Thrill Me..." - best rock song on the album, it's lyrics reflect the duality of Bruce Wayne/Batman, sweepingly rocking and heroic. too bad this song isn't remembered among U2's best songs

Brandy's "Where Are You Now" - a good, funk-filled song (thanks to some funky Lenny Kravitz guitar-playing) and soulful singing from Brandy.

PJ Harvey's "One Time Too Many" - forget Avril Lavigne, this is truly "girl rock". throw your Avril CD's away and look for PJ's stuff.

Seal's "Kiss From A Rose" - soft, silky love theme for the film and surprising heroic-sounding, too bad Seal's gonna be known as a One Hit Wonder for this song.

Massive Attack feat. Tracy Thorn - dark, creepy, mysteriously sexy, fits well with the cat-and-mouse lover's game Bruce Wayne plays with Chase Meridian

Eddi Reader's "Nobody Lives Without Love" - touching and sad, captures the loneliness of a superhero who can't share his deepest secrets with anyone.

The Offspring's "Smash It Up" - high-octane rock, fast and hard, fits Robin's wreckless style

Method Man's "The Riddler" - the obligatory "rap song", but still quite good

Nick Cave's "There Is A Light" - Goth rock, the style fits one of the film's villains, Two-Face.

Michael Hutchence's "The Passenger" - cover of an Iggy Pop song, a lot better than people give it credit for, good, dark synth-rock (it even sounds like they use a crowbar as an instrument! ha!), the lyrics make it sound like Batman is inviting you to take a ride in the Batmobile for a tour of Gotham City at night. good stuff!

The Devlins' "Crossing the River" - nice beat (sounds like bongo drums at the beginning of the song), nicely sung, captures more of Batman's loneliness and desire to love someone.

Sunny Day Real Estate' "8" - great rock song, driving, embodies Batman's drive and determination, one of those songs where you can't quite tell what they're singing, but you still love the song and listen to it over and over.

The Flmaing Lips' "Bad Days" - call me crazy, but i never saw what was so great about these guys. guess i'm not into the whole soft-rock thing.

Mazzy Star's "Tell Me Now" - Zzzzzzzzzzz...oops, sorry, i was listening to the song and fell asleep. totally uninspired, boring, doesn't belong on this album, belongs in a juke box of a sleepy little tavern somewhere. worst song on an album of above-par songs.

The Foundation!!!.......2006-04-01

If you are new to hip hop music or just wanting a great hip hop compilation, this LP is highly recommended. These are essential artists/songs to check out. Especially, when ya have one of the illest DJ's mixin' & chopin' it up.

That Raw Boom Bap (4.5 Stars).......2005-07-27

Jazzy Jeff has long been my favorite DJ. I've been following his work since '86 and it does my heart good to hear cats like Jeff still tearing it up. The tracks all range from the early to mid 90's and includes various bangers and some of them are pretty obscure like the "Can't Stop The Prophet" Pete Rock remix or O.C's classic "Times Up". I really don't have to go into much detail. Just look at the track listing, it speaks for itself. You already know how Jeff flawlessly blends tracks, so the rest is a no brainer.

The only flaw (if you can call it that) I could find on the album was the fact that some of the songs were censored (like "Made U Look"). It was a small distraction, but a distraction nevertheless.

Hip Hop Forever Vol. II is more than worth owning. If you haven't heard it by now, quit cheating yourself and buy it. Jeff has been my favorite since day 1 and he has yet to let me down.

Excellent comp from J the man who invented transformer scratching. As well as a first class line up the mixing in this is second to none. Never heard scrathing this mad on a CD.

The man deserves twice as much acclaim compared to Will Smith as he isnt a sell out and keeps it real.

Once again....Jazzy Jeff has proved he is the best Hip Hop DJ in the world. From listening to this CD to seeing a live set in Philly, he educates a crowd like knowone else.

The Joy Of A Jazzy Jeff Album... {5 Stars}.......2007-01-13

You know, if I hadn't bought a recent issue of Scratch magazine, I would've never known that this album exists. It's funny because I bought at least 7 copies of Hip Hop Forever Vol. II (in different formats). This joint dropped quietly (which is apparent from the lack of reviews) in late '06 and it's definitely a must have CD. While HHF2 (an album I rated a 4.5 but should've given a 5) was more boom bap and had a tougher edge, HHF3 is a little bit more smoothed out. There are some thumpin' tracks (like Big L's "Ebonics"), but the mellow joints get more spins this time around. Don't sleep though, it's definitely tight. Also, I thought the tribute to J Dilla (at the beginning of "Players" and then continues with two joints he produced) was on point.

Flaws? Forget about it. Like I said on the HHF2 review, it's a Jazzy Jeff album. I don't really need to say any more, but look at the track listing. You already know how Jeff gets down on the 1's and 2's. The decision should be easy.

Hip Hop Forever III is a worthy follow up to Hip Hop Forever II (a rarity in hip hop). Jazzy Jeff has been a favorite of mine since I first heard him back in '86. The tracks are effortlessly blended and the cuts and scratches are on point. I recommend making this album, as well as Hip Hop Forever II, a collection piece.

Standout Tracks: It's a compilation, Jeff expertly blends every song.

TLC's True Top 10 Tracks..........2005-07-15

10. Red Light Special
Baby, it's yours! Just like other songs, TLC put classy in nasty! Babyface is another producer (after Dallas Austin and Organized Noize) that just blend with TLC almost perfectly. From Chilli's high and strong vocals, to T-Boz's smooth, scruffy, and edgy voice, to the high strings of the electric guitar throughout the entire song, this song had to be included in the top ten. TLC at their [ballad] finest.

09. Bad By Myself
The second best song off of their debut album, Ooooooohhh...On The TLC Tip, the song includes verse after verse after rap after rap of good, high-energy fun. Lisa's been giving very few chances of rapping twice in one song, but when she does it, oh, my heart flutters like a kcufing butterfly! Her rap(s) is/are actually the focal point and highlight of the entire song, however, it doesn't make the song, there's a difference. The second, much better than the first, opens with a lengthy tongue twister that eventually leads up to the finally of the song, while all throughout it your just in awe of Lisa's actual talent.

08. If They Knew
From the beginning to the end, you're captivated. TLC's dark songs have got to be their best. Nothing like darkness in R&B that does nothing but keep you entertained and coming back for me. All three girls included. Produced by DA. `nough said.

07. Waterfalls
Who doesn't know this song? Or even not like the song for that matter? It's brilliant. The song contains of Lisa's best and most inspirational raps of her entire career. The song also contains a power message, like a lot of TLC's songs, but the way it was written gives it much more esteem & prestige than most of their other inspirational songs. T-Boz's voice, Chilli's harmonies and background vocals, and Lisa's rap all blend together beautifully and flawlessly. CLASSIC.

06. This Is How It Works
Doesn't appear on any of their albums (only the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack) but ever since I first heard the song in '96 I fell in love. The song is sexual and provocative, but classy all at the same time. TLC always had that going for them and this song demonstrates how classy they can be while still being nasty. Genius.

05. FanMail
What a way to start off an album after a 5-year break. I mean, they use samples of Lisa speaking from a 5-year-old interview for chrissakes! BRILLIANT! The entire song, the "internet" and "futuristic" feel to the song lays the groundwork and the path for the entire album. Another classic from Mr. Austin, they're like a freaking hand in glove.

04. Creep
T-Boz's song! Yes, it's just her, but why not market it as TLC? It's so close to their top song that it's unbelievable. The verses, the chorus, the breakdown...many people like the version with Lisa's rap but in all honesty, nothing can beat the album version. The music is what makes the song; listening to any other music just doesn't keep the song's originality. How many R&B songs have freaking trumpets and percussion as the main instrument? Produced by Dallas Austin. As Chilli once stated, "[Dallas Austin and TLC] just mesh well together."

03. Diggin' On You (L.A.'s Live Remix)
TLC's greatest remix ever. The introduction is powerful, electric and actually makes you feel like you're watching these women perform live. It's completely brand-new for TLC. There's so much life and vibrant emotion coming from this song that it makes you almost feel cheated when you listen to the album version. Thankfully, LaFace used this for the video, which would only make sense.

02. What About Your Friends
How many of you have ever had trouble with so-called "friends" who backstab you and leave you when the going gets rough? We all have! TLC know how to pick a subject, make it catchy, creative, and also fun, all at the same time. Come on, Lisa raps the same rap 2 times on this song, that's just great. Another track featuring all three members, which is never a bad combination.

This is, without a doubt, the greatest TLC song of all time. Not to mention my favorite song of all time, period. The guest appearance by Dre (a.k.a. Andre 3000 of OutKast) is absolutely perfect and introduces the song flawlessly with his backwards cursing and quick delivery of a great message. Produced by Organized Noize ("Waterfalls"), who just so happen to do wonders with TLC, this song is one of their darkest and edgiest. The fact that all three girls are on this song and the message is strong and delivered exceptionally is just a few of the reasons this song is classic. TLC know how to deliver messages, always have and always will, but the dark feel and creative flow of the song make it the best.

Definitely their best-but one big, BIG mistake was made.......2005-01-23

TLC was certainly in a league of their own-they were one of the earliest girl groups to truly make it big, and yet they always lacked the modest class and velvety vocals of later girl groups like Destiny's Child. In their debut, they were the tomboyish partiers fresh out of Bel Air. By 'CrazySexyCool,' they were in their best stage-confident, elegant R&B divas. The street-ready, foul-mouthed, venomous fury of both 'Fanmail' and '3D' was both an improvement and a regression for the girls-they cranked out some irresistibly funky beats during that time, but their lyrics started getting uncomfortably trashy. Their personal lives also started getting downright disturbing-problems with the law, sex tapes, and the shocking death of Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes. Like all artists, the image and the hype will have to be shoved in the backseat in order to truly see, understand and enjoy the music for what it is. The collection starts out nice, with hits from TLC's debut, such as the explosive party jam "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg" and uniquely hooky "Hat 2 Da Back." The lovely ballad "Waterfalls," of course, is another treat. The creators of the compilation made a fatal error in not including the original version of "No Scrubs," and instead including a 'rap version' with randomly inserted 'uh's and 'yeah's in the background and an irritating rap sequence towards the end, which I assume is an all-too-unnecessary tribute to the departed rapper Lisa. This is particularly frustrating because "No Scrubs" might have been TLC's biggest hit ever, and in my opinion it is their best song ever. Its infectious hook and sassy beats stay in tact, but the original version should not have been tampered with. That alone strips this release of one star. "Girl Talk" is the supposed sequel to "No Scrubs," but its relentlessly brutal lyrics are far less justified in their complaints. While the girls have a right to say they won't get with a guy that has no money, no job and no ambition, "Girl Talk" viciously puts down men who are *ahem* physically underdeveloped. If you can filter through the farcical lyrics, however, you will unearth a song that deserves to be appreciated for its irresistibly hooky funk, not its words. The almost-catchy "Damaged" and "Whoop De Woo" just pale in comparison to truly excellent jams like "No Scrubs" and "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," and as a result you feel a sense of emptiness once track 12 is over. "Turntable" has beautiful lyrics, but its beat just doesn't impress me. And it becomes difficult to take TLC's pep talks seriously after hearing their sniping tongues diss all kinds of people in tracks like "Silly Ho," "Quickie," "Girl Talk," and "No Scrubs." Regardless, no one can deny that these girls have produced some funky beats and infectious hooks, making this ultimately a worthwhile buy. Hardcore fans will probably be upset that "I'm Good At Being Bad" and "If I Was Your Girlfriend" are missing, but I think neither one is particularly needed. TLC's best moments are here (though one is rearranged a bit), making it a necessity for fans and the only album to buy if you're a casual fan.

I LOVE THIS GROUP. FIRST, OFF RIP LISA. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THIS GROUP. I WISH THAT THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SUCCESSFUL. I UNDERSTAND WHY THESE TWO GIRLS DECIDED TO BREAKUP. BUT, T-BOZ SINGS WELL BY HERSELF AND SHE HAD SANG A SONG:I TOUCH MYSELF ON THE SOUNDTRACK TO "FLED". IT IS A NICE CUT. SHE SANG GET IT UP ALONE AND SHE COVERED PRINCE'S GIRLFRIEND VERY WELL. I LIKED TLC'S STYLE AND THEIR MUSIC. BUT CRAZY, SEXY,COOL, AND OOH ON THE TLC TIP ARE MY FAVORITE ALBUMS DONE BY THE GIRLS. FAN MAIL THE ONLY SONG I LIKED WAS "SILLY HO". BUT ON CRAZY, SEXY,COOL, AND OOH ON THE TLC TIP IT WERE VERY GOOD AND FUN ALBUMS. I ENJOYED THE INTERLUDES THAT WERE ON THE ALBUMS. BUT IN MY OPINION CRAZY, SEXY, COOL WAS MY FAVORITE ALBUM DONE BY THE GIRLS. I REMEMBER LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY I HAD GOT THIS CD FOR X-MAS. MY SISTER HAD BOUGHT THIS CD FOR ME . I REMEMBER WHEN CREEP HAD CAME OUT. I LIKE THIS COMPILATION ALSO, I RECOMMEND ANY TLC FAN TO GET THIS ALBUM YOU WOULD DEFINTELY ENJOY IT. EITHER T-BOZ AND CHILI SHOULD FORM A GROUP TOGETHER OR EITHER THEY SHOULD DO SOME PRODUCING,SONGWRTITING, OR SOLO PROJECTS BECAUSE THEY DON'T NEED TO WASTE THEIR TALENT. I THINK THAT THEY WOULD DO WELL SINGING SOLO. MY FAVORITE SONGS ON THIS ALBUM ARE: WATERFALLS, DIGGIN ON YOU, RED LIGHT SPECIAL, AINT TOO PROUD,KICK YOUR GAME, CREEP, SILLY HO, GET IT UP, HAT 2 DA BACK, and WHAT ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS. I THINK A FEW SONGS ARE MISSING: DAS THE WAY WE LIKE EM, SHOCK DAT MONKEY, AND OTHERS. OVERALL THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM AND IT IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY TLC FAN.

This is the most stupid album I've ever heard!!! I thought I bought the album of the singer from house of pain, but what I got was some really crappy music with no substance whatsoever. Please don't buy this cd if you know what's good for you.

Erik "everlast" Schrody came out with a debut album in aapril 20 1990.He didn't get much luck from it though,but the album did have some good songs for a first Cd such as "I got the knack" and the angry rhym "F--k every one." Nearly 9 years later,in late 1998 he came out with the grammy award winning album titled "Whitey Ford Sings The Blues" with soft blues-rock songs on it such as "what it's like" and "ends" also he had hard-core rap songs such as "tired" and "money (dolla bill w/ sadat-x)"and also his blues rap songs like "death comes callin." two years later in 2000 he came out with another CD intitled "eat at whiteys." With a remake of "childrens Story" and the hit spng "black jesus." He is now working on yet another album

I love everlast so much and when i was at the store i found this and thought it would be great see some old skoal everlast but what a crappy cd. i mena no offence to him cause hes my god but this is bull

I bought this CD about 4 months ago and I thought it wouldn't be as great as his newer CDs since he was only like 18 years old when he made this CD. But the CD sucked, I mean, it's not the worst but it's not worth [the money]. I LOVE Everlast and I had to buy this CD just to hear how he was. Personally I think it's not worth buying. He doesn't have the deep voice, cool beat, or any of that stuff in this CD. It's all fast, high pitched, and not to rappy.
