5 out of 5 stars The best system tester for over all sound.......2003-04-16

My name is William Tucker I am 28 years old and have listened to Bass ever since I was 12.This has always been my favoriate CD of all time.It has all the highs , lows and mids you need to tweek out your system. It was the first bass album I ever heard. And it is still the best I have ever heard.I have 6000 watts rms in my car pushing through 4 RFX power HX2 FOSGATE 12" subs. I Have hit 159.02 with the song BASS COMPUTER. Thank you TECHMASTER!!

5 out of 5 stars Techmaster- The God of Bass.......2001-09-05

All hail the god of bass. He does it all. Great songs. Great Scratching.Great Bass. Well used Kraftwerk samples. I wish I could meet this man in real life. Hell, I don't even know what his name is. He seems to disclose little about his self. There are differences between Bass Computer 2000 and the original Bass Computer. It seems there might have been problems with sample clearence that he couldn't get cleaned up. Many samples from the original have been ommited and replaced. The song DPE has been almost revamped. A few new songs have been added. If im not mistaken one song was removed. It almost consisted wholly of samples.(First song on the second side of the tape. I forgot the name.) Aside from all that. This cd is perfect. It can play as a bass cd. It can play as a New Age cd. It can play as an ambient cd. It deserves to carry the electronic torch started by Edgar Froese and company back in the late 60's. Rest well Edgar, the music is in good hands thanks to people like P.E.B.

4 out of 5 stars The best bassgazm.......1999-10-12

The people have the idea of how to mix the music to create more music. I have to say that this CD is one hell of a CD to listen specialy if you love Bass.

      3 out of 5 stars Rap & Hip Hop?! I disagree........1999-10-09

This is a decent electronic album with, yes, a prominent bassline. I didn't get the feel of rap or hip hop from it because, bassically, I don't like either genre and I liked this disc. The samples are consistently clever and often amusing, making for a varied listen in whatever style it is. Uh...that's...um...word? A'ite!

5 out of 5 stars Techmaster P.E.B at its BEST!!.......1999-08-04

First i like to say i had the original techmaster peb disc but i wanted to get this one for the additional 4 tracks and i was not disappointed =) This is the best Bass disc on the market and if you think your subs can handle the bass just try track 6. Bassgasm =) and my personal favorite computer love =) by the way i have had about 60 bass discs and this is the BEST no contest =) Good going Techmaster P.E.B. keep up the work and lets do some more like computer love and bassgasm =)

Uncle Luke is back, just in time for bass lover in you. 1 CD, 27 tracks, and the most bass riden, shaken music since AS NASTY AS THEY WANNA BE. Rapper Big Pun drops by on SLIPPERY WHEN WET. (I'll leave the title alone.) The best part of this Luke "experience", the liner notes, the which reads as a who's who in hip hop music. A pleasant surprise appears on track 10, BABY BE MINE, the Quad City DJ's let the groove flow as only they can. Don't say I didn't warn you, spare yourself from the bass remix of LOVIN' YOU track 14.

          Product Description

For anybody that needed a comprehensive collection of the band in their finest form, this is your record. It's live and untouched. It's raw and emotional. Sure - The Schramms can make a great studio album, but can they pull it off live? This is proof that the answer is a resounding "YES".

          Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars live and kickin'.......2004-03-07

It's hard to do a live CD right, but The Schramms nail it. This double disc, recorded in Europe, offers the great feel of a live show and quality of sound. With selections from each of their previous albums, it's a fine introduction for those who are unfamiliar with The Schramms' literate roots rock and an excellent souvenir for fans of the group. Not only does he write engaging songs, but Dave Schramm is a guitarist to be reckoned with.

5 out of 5 stars THE EPITOME OF AWESOME ELECTRONICA.......2007-04-03

This CD holds a lot of sentimental value for me, but I know that even if it didn't, I'd still give it 5 stars. I purchased it over 6 years ago on a US Naval base in Sicily when I was 20 years old and in the US Marines. I'd recently made friends with a pure techno junkie, and he piqued my curiosity for the genre. This CD was my very first willing step into the techno/house/trip-hop/drum-&-bass/etc. genres...and till this day, it is still one of my favorites.

The whole CD blazes across your brain from beginning to end, but my 2 personal favorites are "Ghetto Blaster" & the absolutely perfect "Pass It On". As someone who has a 30 gig mp3 player (Creative's Zen Vision: M) filled to the brim with just about every genre of music you can imagine, trust me when I say that you won't regret this purchase. It's an absolute must for any techno fan, to be sure.

          5 out of 5 stars Great mix.......2001-07-23

I bought this CD at a time when I was very heavily under the influence of the "Happy Hardcore" genre. The only real reason I picked up this CD because I enjoyed the Over America 2000 documentary (which by the way is a must for any techno fan) and I noticed that new tracks from Cirrus,Keoki and Carl Cox were on the album. This album delievers an excellent mix of Trip Hop, Drum & Bass, House and more all stuffed into a 13 track masterpiece. Even though I bought this CD a while back I still play it on almost daily basis because it is just that damn good. My personal favorite tracks are both Cirrus tracks "Ghetto blaster" & "Stop and panic", Carl Cox's "Dr. Funk", Keokis "Pass it on",Omar Santana's "Raver's damnation", Freshmaka's "La la la" and the awesome remix of the Clevland Lounge's "Drowning" by the drum & bass master AK1200. Once again, this is an awesome CD pick it up ASAP if you enjoy any of the styles or artists I mentioned.

          Album Description

Wendy's vocals and upright bass playing are featured here along with Steve Kilby - guitar, Rickie Simpkins - fiddle and mandolin and Rob Ickes Dobro. In the Laurel Springs region of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Bluegrass, old-time mountain and acoustic roots music are all popular and they frequently merge into the wonderful blend of styles you hear on this CD. Edwin Lacy plays old-time banjo and Kyle Dean Smith plays bluegrass style banjo.

Michael Bell adds hammered dulcimer on song 11 (I'll Pick Pretty Flowers). Wilkes County fiddler, Ernest Johnson and the amazing Rickie Simpkins get together for some very nice twin fiddling on Sweet Rosie By The River. Lujean Michael and Jimmie Newsom add harmony vocals on songs 8 and 11.

5 out of 5 stars Blue ridge mountain music still flourishing.......2002-07-11

The good people of West Virginia probably know all about Wendy Lewis, who sings and plays mountain music of the highest quality, mixing well-chosen covers with great originals, which bluegrass fans in particular will enjoy. The covers are mostly old, including a couple of oft-recorded Carter Family songs, but also some less obvious.

Anybody looking for anything new or innovative won't find it here, but there are plenty of other singers and pickers doing that. On the strength of this album, Wendy and her friends deserve more recognition than they have so far achieved.

5 out of 5 stars A Must For All Mountain Music Fans!!!!!.......2001-08-18

I came across this CD quite by accident when looking for the song "My Home's Across the Blue Ridge Mountains" - had never heard of Wendy Lewis but took a chance and ordered it. Cannot begin to tell everyone what a GREAT decision that was. This CD belongs in every collection of old time mountain music - great songs - great arrangements - great performances!!!!! I haven't been this excited about a new performer since I discovered Laura Boosinger at the Homecoming in Norris, TN some years ago. I'm sure Wendy and Friends will have many new fans once this CD is played!!! And, oh yes, her rendition of "My Home's Across the Blue Ridge Mountains" is as close to perfect as I've ever heard.

5 out of 5 stars Terrific Americana Music from the Blue Ridge Mountains!.......2001-07-05

Spurred by the popularity of the successful movie "O Brother Where Art Thou" legions of new listeners are coming (or returning!) to the traditional music of the Southeastern United States. I'm sure the vast majority of them will really like this album showcasing Wendy Lewis in a wonderful collection of vocals and instrumentals recorded right there in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Wendy's crystal-clear voice is complemented by tasteful and professional musical performances that highlight her own background and experiences. The recorded tracks have been mixed with obvious care and skill resulting in an extremely listenable product. As a traditional musician myself, I can easily recognize and appreciate the work and that went into these tracks and the terrific results they produced!

My favorites include "I'll Pick Pretty Flowers for You" which includes some very nice dulcimer work by Michael K. Bell and "When the Roses Bloom in Dixieland" with its wonderful fiddle (Rickie Simpkins) and frailing banjo (Edwin Lacy) backup. Throughout the album Steve Kilby adds inspiring and tasteful flatpick guitar solos. Resonator guitar fans won't want to miss the contributions of award-winning Rob Ickes to "Living the Blues" and an original instrumental by Wendy and Rickie entitled "Chestnut Ridge."

While some independent productions reflect their origin with brief or plain booklets, "Mountain Memories 2000" includes Karen Frazer's fine six-page layout with many photographs of the participants and the beautiful surroundings of their area. Wendy's comments really make you feel like you are a friend. Between the music, the notes, and the photographs, I just want to go there! Buy it, you'll be glad you did!
