Editorial Reviews
Whats in a name? In Treasures case, more than mere words can describe.
The 20-year-old, the latest addition to the Rahab Records camp, possesses a valuable gem in winning people with the good news of Christ an unparalleled source of energy, which allows his audience to feel the intensity of his message.
"I want to give people a good perspective of who God is," says the artist. "That He is real if you have a relationship with Him and grow closer to Him."
Treasure takes these messages from God and puts them to song, specifically rap, a style of music that has always been full of energy and upbeat rhythms but is now being planted in the Christian music genre. Treasure is the keg of dynamite the Gospel rap industry has needed. And in delivering his message, he plans to use every stick.
Having developed a love for music at the age of six, Treasure immersed himself into hip hop and began writing rhymes at the age of eight.
"I basically learned about music on my own and discovered I have a gift for creating music and lyrics," he says.
By the time he was 16, Treasure was captivated by gospel rap music. He knew right away what his calling was.
"God inspired me to rap for Him. I had an urge to put God first. He turned this desire into a lifestyle," he said. " In school, I was real with my Christian walk. I lived by my actions, not just my words."
It was Treasures zeal for God and dedication to express Gods love through music that won him a spot on the Rahab roster. "Treasure possesses and displays the kind of fire we wanted for a hip hop artist," said Rahab Records president Minister Eric Campbell. "The way he revs up an audience is nothing short of spectacular and thats what we need to get Gods good news across to people, especially young people."
With secular music sweeping the airwaves and capturing the ears of the youth, Treasure believes Gospel music is the key to delivering young people to the throne of Christ. "Secular music can relate to their problems, but doesnt offer them a solution. Gospel rap offers a solution
it brings life."

Product Description
Sweet Seraphic Fire brings together two unique bodies of American sacred song: choral compositions from the New England singing-school tradition and the most popular Evangelical Protestant hymn texts in historic American use. In the late eighteenth century the New England singing-school movement produced America's first great sacred-music style, employing several genres of unaccompanied four-part choral compositions with the melody in the lead (tenor) part. The enormous popularity of singing-school music also promoted a canon of hymn texts shared across America's competing Evangelical Protestant denominations. This recording contains neglected masterworks from the New England singing school that also helped to create the American hymn canon. Marking a more recent turn in this process, we have also included some new settings of traditional Evangelical lyrics written by leaders in the revival of singing-school music that has blossomed in the Northeast since 1976. ! Selection of pieces for this recording was determined by correlating "The Norumbega Harmony"--our collection of one hundred six historic New England singing-school compositions and thirty contemporary works in traditional style--with a list of the three hundred most frequently printed hymn texts in America from 1737 to 1960. --Stephen MariniCustomer Reviews:
