Video Games+Hip Hop= Game Over.......2005-08-02

I gotta agree with a few of these reviewers that production is defintely on point. And Im talking about not only Game Over V.2 but V.1 as well. Lyrics are tight by veterans and newjacks. Both of the Game Over albums, in my opinion, are two of the best hip hop compilations I've ever heard.

I dont even know where to start. This is by FAR the best hip hop compulation i have EVER heard. I have both Game Over CDs and BOTH are superier. I mean you just cant get more underground heads on one cd EVER! Some cats that shine on this record are Punch n Words, Masta Ace, Heltah Skeltah, Das EFX, (been a while since i head from them!) Craig Mack, Channel Live, damn thats all i name for now but EVERY SONG on the CD is GREAT! They shoulda had better skits like in the 1st G.O. Cd. Anyway its ORIGINAL that they combine Video Game beats w/ hip hop! GO GET BOTH GAME OVER CDs NOW!!!!!

this is a real dope production. worth the money spent and believe me it is ill. What known cats spit is very nice but what i liked were those unknown ones that i never heard of. i really enjoyed the track round em up. i dont know who that guy is but Tonedeff,wow he is really good. and im really feelin how these mainstream peeps are looking out for these hidden jewels.

This cat is buggin severely. KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Masta Ace, Prodigy, Das EFX, Heltah Skeltah, Punch & Words...must I go on?

If you aint heard of half the kids on here, than you shouldn't call yourself a hip-hop fan, cause you're not actively looking out for new talent.

This record is a dope record. The production is bananas, and the artists are on point. Pick it up!

Big up to CRAIG MACK.......2001-03-23

Craig Mack is back and its about time. Game Over Vol. 2 should be the first of many compilations to put Mack on the commercial mainline again. Overall the album is good but I think there were too many no-names spitting on it. I am a big fan of putting emcees on for the first time, but not too many at once.

Great CD.......2000-07-02

Okay, okay, you somehow stumbled on this great CD, but you've got no idea what's on it since the tracks aren't listed, and unfortunately Naxos makes it slightly confusing. You see there are ten CDs under the title "Romantic Piano Favorites" (Volume 1-10). But there are also two box sets which contain five of the CDs and are confusingly labelled volume 1 and 2. So be carefull what you buy. I advise you to get the box sets, because they're very inexpensive.

Also the name of the collection is somewhat misleading. The piano pieces are not all from the Romantic Era (although some are) and they're not romantic in nature (some are dark, others just dance pieces).

And don't be afraid by Naxos. I've heard some people tell me that they don't buy from inexpensive labels fearing the sound quality would be subpar. But Naxos has never dissapointed me and this box set is wonderful. The piano sounds great and the pianist themselves are very talented.

This box set is Volume 2 (which contains Volume 6-10). By the way if you want to hear some of the samples then find the single CDs (rather than the box set) and you can hear them. The first CD of this box set (Vol. 6) begins wonderfully from works by Haydn, Grieg, and Schumann. What's wonderful here is that some of the pieces are ones you'd never here unless you picked up this box set. Vol. 7 has Brahms craddle song (which everyone could easily recognize) and his 5th Hungarian Dance, Vol. 8 Rosas famous Sobre las olas, Vol. 9 Mozart version of the famous French lullabye (We know it as Twinkle, twinkle little Star), And finally Vol. 10 the Danse Macabre.

This is trully a great collection! Buy it!
