Project Dreamz..........2006-10-16
In my opinion, this is the best Field Mob album to get. When they first came out I was down and still I play this like it was brand new. For all their fans who jumped on their second or third, go back and check this out. If you liked those, you'll love this!!! Peace
mane good classic.......2005-10-11
in my own mind this is a classic hip hop album...........because of it different from anything out there....lryic r so hard and the beats aint that badd. and they with dtp now mane it on..........but there sormore album is ok but not like the first joint
one of the best rap groups around.......2003-09-17
this cd is funny it has great songs with great lyrics I heard this after I bought the cd From the Roota to Da Toota but they are both great cds this one is actually a little bit better the Field Mob are right up there with Outkast and Ludacris in my book
Can't stop The mob!!.......2002-10-21
Field Mob burst onto the scene in 2000 with an unforgettable song; Project Dreams. Sporting an unforgettable first line "Rent Thirty days late gotta be gone by Saturday", Boondox & Kalage commence to drop classic line after classic line in what was one of the great songs of that year. Spittin the poor man's vision with lines like `Have you ever bathed with soap the size of a cert" and "when the trash bags replacing yo car window" and the chorus to this anthem consisted of "If you ever been broke put ya hands up', they became one of the premier groups to look out for . Coupled with signature dirty south beats, this crew had unprecedented wit and a sense of humor that made them easily accessible. Along with that they could tell stories and spit punchlines that raised East Coast cats eyebrows. Field Mob has the sense of realness that have just recently been getting recognition in the form of Nappy Roots. They were supposed to be the Nappy Roots of 2000 but it didn't work out right.
Anyhow Field Mob can go toe to toe with any group in the game right now. Songs like Project Dreams, Can't Stop Us, Dead In Your Chevy, and Dimes showcase their immense potential to become giant mega rap stars. Other songs such as `My Main Roni' which is a smooth ode to a girl who constantly does a man wrong, and `Cheatin ON We' about when both partners cheat. Cheatin on We sports a rather unusual storyline with an extremely catchy chorus. Channel 613 is a tale about The Mob being transported through the Television and visiting different shows. This is a very creative concept that I had never heard before; they make references to Scooby Doo, Martin, Cops, The News and other shows
I'm pretty sure you have heard their new single `Sick Of Being Lonely' which is another certified winner for this group. Their sophomore album drops on Oct. 22nd and I suggest you get that along with this album if you slept on it earlier. Field Mob is one of the great underground talents to come from Georgia and it would be a shame if they get slept on while other groups such as Nappy Roots, DTP, and Jim Crow garner acclaim and attention. Get That Field Mob immediately!!!!
IMO, this album is a 3.5 out 5 stars........2001-04-04
I am not saying that this album is bad by any means. In fact, it is quite entertaining and I can at least say that Field Mob comes with some originality and comic relief on this album. I give this album 3.5 stars because it starts off with a bang, but it gets kind of redundant at the end with the repeated songs about the females. The best tracks are: Can't Stop Us, Project Dreams,Dead In Your Chevy and Channel 613 Pt.1 ( which is the funniest track, in my opinion). I recommend this album to those that enjoy hip-hop with a southern twist or just hip-hop that is different from what you are accustomed to. Though it could have been a little longer, this is a promising debut and I look forward to future Field Mob projects.
